"Stop zoning out on me!!!! What gives you the right?!" Storm heard Miranda scream again, and looked down at her phone. The call was still on.
Hmm, so Curtis really wanted to hear more? That's interesting. Perhaps she should give him what he wanted. He should consider it a favour then. Storm thought.
She had helped him see the reality of who he was dating. Not that he was any better, but still… he owed her one.
"I'm sorry, her royal highness… it's just with my father's death, I am having a lot to think about." Storm answered finally, wanting to laugh out loud when she noticed the way Miranda was heaving in and out.
"So, back to our new neighbor…." Storm drawled, chuckling, unable to stop herself, when Miranda scrunched her face.
The girl was really a dummy. How could she be this passionate in anger about some guy she didn't even know his name??
Well, Storm believed that she understood though. Kaden was hot!! But still…
"Stay away from him, Storm. He is mine. Or else, you wouldn't like what would happen to you next." Miranda threatened, and she scoffed.
"What can you do if not running to Jess and whining like a one year old kid? I will not be surprised if she supports your wanton craving for a man you don't know if he is a serial killer. Since you both are birds of the same feather."
"What do you mean by that?" Miranda asked, stepping closer but Storm waved her off.
"It doesn't matter, sister. I would actually give out my hand to be withered if you have no idea about what I am talking about. Well, we were talking about our new neighbor right…" Storm said, piquing her eyebrow at Miranda.
"Storm, do you think I am joking here?!" Miranda screamed at her.
"Of course not! How would I think of that? This is a serious situation. I understand. But you see sister, there is a problem." Storm said, holding a laugh when she saw Miranda push her face closer, obviously keen on hearing what the problem could be.
"He is the one that sneaks into my window most times to watch me. I don't know how long that has gone on but I caught him yesterday, red handed!" Storm screamed dramatically, holding her chest. "Now tell me sister, isn't that a crime? Shouldn't I report him to the authorities?" She asked, a smile slithering across her lips when she saw Miranda fuming.
If the latter was part of the fire nation in the Avatar movie, a series which Storm loved so much, she would have been oozing smoke out of nostrils and ears by now.
"Lock your window then! Tell him away!" Miranda shouted, and Storm began to think that Kaden had literally driven her stepsister mad, and worse, he didn't even know who she was.
Was this how all the ladies were for him? If so, how then is it possible then that he didn't have a girlfriend, or someone he usually slept with? She thought, biting down on her lower lip, mentally choosing to ask him that when they saw or probably text him since he had given her his number yesterday before they had bid themselves goodbye.
"I can't do that either…" She replied, knowing that her sister was getting impatient by the way the latter was tapping her shoe on the table at intervals.
"Why?" Miranda gritted out, stomping her foot on the floor.
How was she a college student again? Storm thought, almost hissing in disgust.
"Well, as of today, we are dating. He had asked me out some minutes ago before you had barged into my room. If you had knocked nicely, perhaps you would have known his name, as I would have introduced you both." She finished, clapping her hands together as if she had just finished a sweet story telling.
Before Miranda threw the shoe the next second, Storm had anticipated it. Her sister was so predictable. And so, she dived to the other side of the bed before the shoe could smack her face squarely.
But Storm had to give it to her; Miranda had a good aim. Perhaps the latter should have gone to a school of archery instead of stealing her scholarship to college.
The thought of that kind of dampened her small victory.
School was everything she had hoped for. It was the escape she had from home and the key to the future she envisioned for herself but her stepmother had stolen it right under her nose for Miranda.
Miranda was studying on her sweat whilst she stayed at home waiting tables.
Her stepmother had then refused to sponsor her to school, citing money issues which Storm had known were damn lies and her father hadn't said a word about it. He had just told her to be patient!
Well, he was now dead, and so was her education dream. Jess would definitely not send her to college ever.
"You have a good aim, Miranda. Perhaps, you should have gone to a school for sports or something that has to do with archery instead of stealing my one ticket to med school." Storm said dismissively, getting out of the bed, her phone in her hand. She was tired of playing.
"Just wait Storm, I will take my revenge on you. I will take him too, just like I took Curtis. You are nobody. I will show you that." Miranda stated vehemently, but Storm shrugged, raising the phone to her face.
"Well, while we are still on the topic of revenge….I think you should say hi to Curtis…" She said, smiling with all her teeth out to the world. "I believe he wants to hear you say hi too." She added, putting the call on loudspeaker, victory romancing her entire system when she saw the shock that clouded Miranda's face and entire body demeanor. Good! Her sister hadn't seen this coming.
"What…did..you do? Miranda croaked out, shuddering even though the fan wasn't on in Storm's room.
Must be the shock. Storm thought, almost feeling fulfilled at that moment.
Now this was more like it.
She hummed remembering the way Miranda had paraded her relationship in front of her when they had started dating.
This was good! The feeling was good!
Oh my, revenge was damn sweet sometimes, to be called sin. Storm enthused.
"What did I do?? I thought that was obvious. I just put up a communication line between you and sweet Curtis." She replied.
"Curtis! Say hi!"
