Storm's whole body was burning up. It was like she had been set on fire. She needed water.
"Water.." She managed to sputter. Her mouth seemed so heavy. Or is it my tongue?
Immediately, she felt the tip of a cup on her lips.
"Drink, Storm. Drink, girlfriend. You will be okay." Another voice said.
Lucy was here then.
She thought, accepting the water even as Lucy helped to tilt her head further so that she could drink.
"What happened?" She asked Lucy, her eyes still shut, relieved she was in safe hands.
"We are not sure yet. I had come to see you in the evening as we had planned, but instead I had heard you muttering gibberish and shouting. Justin had to convince Jess to give us the spare key to your door." Lucy answered, taking away the cup when she saw that Storm was satisfied.
But even though the water soothed Storm's hot tongue, it didn't do well for her body.
Nevertheless, she had remembered it all.
The drugs and the shoutings.
She had remembered Kaden kissing another woman.
Dwelling on it now caused a sharp pain to flash through her head.
"Ah '' She screamed, holding her head with two hands.
"Storm, what is it? What is the problem?" Justin and Lucy asked at the same time.
Storm could hear the frantic-ness in their voice and she wondered if it was that bad, if she looked that bad. She just needed some rest, that was all. So what if she had taken an overdose? The effects would wear out soon.
"I think we should probably take her to the hospital or rehab. My offer still stands. I know a good doctor, or rather my mother does. I still believe that she had taken drugs' ' That was Miranda.
What was she doing in the room?
Storm wanted to open her eyes, but gave up when she found out that it was a ponderous task. Needles wanting to sink into her head was what she had felt wanting to try it.
Wearingly, Storm bit her tongue softly, knowing that she wasn't in a proper state to exchange words with her stepsister. The latter should just wait till she was hale and hearty.
"If you have nothing to say, Miranda. I suggest you leave." That was Justin.
He deserved a kiss for that, for telling that slut away, but Storm couldn't even move her hand.
Was the drug this potent and dangerous? She wondered, trying again to open her eyes, but wincing in pain the next moment.
Opening her eyes could wait then. She finally concluded. She could hear with her ears after all.
"Where is the doctor?" Lucy asked, probably to Miranda.
"He will come soon with mother.'' Miranda replied, and Storm sighed.
Who knows if they would bribe the doctor to kill her with more sedatives. She didn't trust that duo.
She opened her mouth to say exactly her thought, but shut it afterwards, remembering that killing her wouldn't be possible. There were witnesses, and if anything should happen to her, Justin and Lucy could go to the police. They were her friends and they couldn't be bought. Or could they?
Storm shook her head faintly, beginning to think that this drug had really made her delirious. She made a note to herself never to touch the bottle again.
As a matter of fact, once she was free from the clutches of this sickness, she would flush them away in the cistern.
She promised this to herself even as she felt herself slip into oblivion.

"What do you think is the problem, doctor? What happened?" Storm heard Jess ask whoever was there with her, perhaps the family doctor, after regaining consciousness for the second time.
"There is an overdoase of sleeping pills in her system. But she will be fine after this drip. It's almost over. You don't have to worry much. I wouldn't put this trouble past a wrong prescription. If she has trouble sleeping, she should come visit me one of these days. I think I have just the right med for her." She heard the doctor reply.
Yes, that was the family doctor, Jack.
"Sure, you bet I would. Thanks a lot." Jess said, and Storm heard the shuffling of feet.
She knew that they were leaving the room.
She sighed after inhaling the sorry scent of her room. She didn't like the smell of drugs. It was okay if it was in the hospital, but not in her room. At the moment, it was making her nauseous.
Her mouth was too bitter, and even though she felt like eating something, something to reduce the bad quality of her tongue, she had no appetite. Also, she didn't like the fact that she couldn't open her eyes yet without the onslaught of needles.
Never again would I take my sleeping pills. Storm vowed, wishing she could suddenly get well. She hardly felt sick and worse, she couldn't heal herself. That was one downside to this power she possessed; she couldn't use it on herself. It was only for others.
What a goodwill from the gods or whomever had passed down this stupid gift to me! She thought angrily, choosing to drift off to sleep again.

"Lucy, stop crying, she will be alright. The doctor said so. See, her fever had gone down."
Storm heard Justin say to Lucy, felt his hand on her forehead, and exhaled mentally.
She was going to be fine after all.
She shifted her shut eyes when she suddenly felt a slight change in the room's atmosphere, and perceived a familiar scent.
"Who are you?" Justin asked the new arrival.
"Don't worry, Justin. Calm down your horses. He is Storm's friend too." Lucy answered and Storm inhaled deeply, wanting to cuss, but holding herself back, deciding to wait and hear what the dunce would say.
"Is that why he had come through the window? There is a front door for god sake!'' Justin answered, and Storm nodded her approval mentally.
The dude should stop climbing her window.
"I'm sorry about that. But I just want to know how she was doing." He answered , and Storm scoffed out loudly, knowing that she had just gotten their attention.
"Storm, you are awake?" That was Lucy.
