Clubbing III

KADEN

"Aren't you going to say something?" Casper asked Kaden, who shrugged his shoulders thereafter, instead of speaking.

What did they want him to say? He wondered. That he would leave Storm and not see her again, or that he would snap out of his stupid haze of futile longing for a human???

Well, He won't! He couldn't!

And so, there was no reason for saying that because his word was his bond, and they knew that.

That was shit though. He had broken his words to Storm. She didn't trust him again. And why would she?

His hand reached out to grab his cup, forgetting that he had thrown it at Liam earlier.

"I think you should stop drinking…"

That was Lent.

What was his gamma talking about now?

"I know that alcohol doesn't affect us, but you have taken a lot. Now that we are not sure of the state of your wolf, you should take a break from these." Lent continued, pointing at the bottles in front of Kaden which he had consumed since they had come inside the bar.

Kaden furrowed his eyebrows, and stared at his three friends in annoyance, wishing he had come alone, wishing he hadn't invited them over. That way, he would have had the freedom of doing as he pleased without feeling like he was offending any of them.

However, he nodded after a while, and dropped his hand to his lap.

"Good. Finally, a reaction from you." Liam spoke, for the first time since he had dodged Kaden's glass cup, squirming in his seat the next second when Kaden glared at him again.

Kaden wouldn't let him off the handle that easily. Liam had called Storm, a love object.

But then, he shrugged again, sighing tiredly. He wanted to leave. It was time for Storm's sleep, and even though she had told him to stay away, he wanted to watch over her from his window. I had to go.

That thought established, Kaden stood up from the chair, ignoring the questioning looks on his friends' faces.

"What do you think you are doing? We are not done talking. Where are you going?" Casper asked, looking at him from up to down.

"Well, I am calling it a night. I need to sleep and rest..had a long day…probably there would be a longer day tomorrow." Kaden answered, glaring at a Liam who had tried to just say something then. He knew what the latter wanted to say, and he had no plans of letting that happen.

Casper would talk his head off if he found out that he had been sneaking into Storm's room at night just to watch her sleep. Not to mention Lent. That one would be an overbearing mother in his next life.

"We will go with you then. Need to say hello to Kim…missed her chicken soup." Lent spoke, nudging Liam who smiled, obviously proud that his mate's name had been mentioned for good in the sentence. But the next minute he faked a frown while Kaden watched, telling Lent that he should find someone else to make soups for him.

They knew he was kidding around though. Kim would have his head if she hears that he was chasing her best friend away.

Perhaps he could tell that to return the favour for what Liam had done this night. Kaden thought, nodding his head slowly. An eye for an eye.

"I hope the determination glint I am seeing in your eyes is because you have chosen to leave the girl alone." Lent spoke, as he pushed his chair back a bit with his back, and stood up from his chair.

Kaden scoffed, wanting to rebuke him when suddenly he heard a loud boisterous laugh from below them, most likely at the bar area.

"What is that, Kaden?" That was Casper, looking at him like little horns were beginning to sprout on his head.

"Did you hear that laugh?'' He asked his beta, wanting the latter's confirmation, not wanting to be hallucinating already over this issue.

"A lot of people are laughing here, Kaden." Casper replied with a shrug.

Kaden sighed in deep weariness.

Of course. I must be deep in shit.

"Let's go then.'' He muttered, already walking toward the VIP staircase reserved for the likes of them, when he heard the laugh again.

Though less loud, he could still hear it, and I knew who it belonged to.

Shouldn't she be in bed resting? He thought, turning around from the staircase, and jogging to the other staircase, to the surprise of his friends.

"Kaden, wait!"

Kaden believed it was Lent, but he was already running down the stairs. He took in a deep breath when he came to a stop at the end of the staircase. He looked around the throng of bodies, almost willing Storm to laugh again, so that he would notice her. His lycan was absent now, so he couldn't really trace her by her scent. But he knew she was here.

Not seeing anything from his point of view, he decided to mix with the crowd, sure that none of the dancers on this floor knew him, be it his mafia identity or his business mogul identity.

Successfully mixing with the crowd was a bit troublesome, especially dodging girls who seemed to have noticed his presence and were trying to make some conversation or dance with him.

When one boldly stood in front of him, placing her hand on his chest, despite the negative signal he was giving her, he shoved her out of the way, not caring about the gasps of unbelief that emanated from her mouth and her friends nearby.

They must have made a bet. He thought, really unconcerned about that. He just wanted to find Storm, and he found her, just as he looked to his right on the dancing floor.

She was dancing with another guy, and she was twerking with her ass right up to his crotch. The guy was looking at her with his eyes all clouded with lust. He was holding her waist tightly, licking his lips at intervals as she went down on him again and again.

Without further ado, Kaden elbowed his way to them, knowing that his face was a terrifying sight to behold.
