Chapter 79 FAVORITE PLACE

CHLOE's POV

I followed the footpath that led into the woods in the vague direction that it pointed. I continued to run for twenty-two minutes already, but there was no indication that anyone else was approaching. Because this location was in fact very still and devoid of people, I started getting anxious about Easton.

I decided to stop running because I was already sweating hard, and instead, start walking slowly while taking some deep breaths and making an effort to relax. My attention was drawn to the side, where I could see the crystal-clear water of the river flowing from the nearest waterfall.

I continued walking straight and then made a right turn until I reached the spot where the waterfall stood, at which point I noticed that the sun had begun to shine and that its rays were reflecting in the crystal clear water. Nothing at all has changed about this place. It continued to amaze me with how clean and refreshing it was, and it remained my favorite place in my hometown.
