Chapter 152 ESCAPE

CHLOE's POV

I attempted to calm myself by taking a few slow, deep breaths. I was starting to slow down because of the exhaustion and nausea that such a strenuous run was causing. I had to push myself beyond my limitations in order to get the necessary power for my legs since I was aware that Avery's father was still running behind me and had no intention of slowing down.

I came to a small intersection in between the houses, and I was at a loss as to which way to turn to. I hesitated for a while since I couldn't decide where I was going.

My awareness was abruptly brought back to the present as I heard the man coming around the corner at the same time. This served as the impetus for me to make the choice to run to the right, where I saw a black SUV. I went into a crouching position at the side of it right away, and I prayed that he wouldn't find me here.
