Chapter 28 THE SUPERVISOR

NAYA’S P O V

I stood patiently in front of the doors with a nervous smile plastered on my face, staring at the working-class people with me that were all dressed professionally. My smile grew broader.

I looked around for the man who had helped me, and I saw him step into the next elevator together with the other employees after a few people got out.

I averted my gaze, and focused on the elevator in front of me, when the woman beside me noticed my creepy smile for no apparent reason and I knew that.

‘‘I work here now, just like you…’’ I told the woman excitedly, having no idea why I did that, as I pointed to the ID card around her neck. She just slowly nodded, giving me a weird stare before she drew her attention away from me.

I couldn’t care less about the look from the woman. I had shared my happiness and that was all that mattered. The elevator doors opened, and I carefully pushed my way through a few people to get inside.
