Chapter 29 PROBLEM

NAYA’S P O V

The supervisor was staring down at the papers in front of him and didn’t glance up at me when I entered his office, but that didn’t stop me from recognizing him. He was the man who helped me enter the building. I had no idea that he was actually my supervisor. Nevertheless, I was relieved to know that I would be working with someone who was kind and seemed to have a lot of compassion for others.

I carefully walked up to his desk, my heels clicking against the floor, and reverberating in the quiet room. I stood in front of him, and waited for him to speak up. After all, he’d called me in.

‘‘Hi, Miss White. It’s nice to see you again…’’ he greeted smoothly as he glanced up from whatever paperwork he was reading.
