Chapter 44 SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENED

RAPHAEL’S P O V

I arrived at the Villin Group wearing my old clothes. I hurriedly took my personal elevator, and proceeded directly to my office on the top floor, and then padded my way to my private room. I opened my huge closet which was full of designer clothes. I drew out a fresh white dress shirt and slipped it on after I stripped off the old clothes I wore this morning before I left the house.

While I was adjusting my tie, I couldn’t help but think about what Naya had told me the other night. She asked me to just sell the jewelries that I had bought for her because she thought I was having trouble making ends meet.

I saw in her eyes how she liked the gift so much, but it seemed that money was more important to her. I couldn’t blame her though. She worked hard just to save money for her nephew who was being treated in the hospital due to a serious illness. She even applied for another part-time job because she thought I was as poor as a rat.
