116. Not So Hard to Kill

Looking at his flying slash attack that still flies past the village's border, Zoro raises an eyebrow.

"Eh? Those snakes are not as tough as I thought."

He is quite disappointed by the snakes' durability because he thought they would have thick and hard scales that can't be cut easily. That wasn't even his best attack either, so he was surprised to see it cut the snakes like cutting sausages.

Zoro tries the same attack at another group of snakes and the result is the same. This group only has 2 snakes, but they are still being cut too easily. Now there are only 2 groups of snakes made of 3 giant snakes each and they have become very wary of Zoro.

"Hmm, maybe it's because they are just normal giant snakes. Maybe those like Manda, Aoda, or other high-ranking snakes in Ryuichi Cave are tougher than these guys or at least they can fight back against my attack."

Zoro wants to test something else too. He glares at a group of 3 snakes and uses his Conqueror Haki at them. They widen their eyes as they back off and cold sweats come out of their bodies even though snakes shouldn't sweat.

"Get lost!"

He says it with a low voice, so the snakes shouldn't hear him. But they don't even need to hear him to understand what he says. It's proved by how they suddenly cancel their summonings and disappear as smokes, returning to Ryuichi Cave in fear.

The last snake group doesn't even get intimidated by Zoro's Conqueror Haki. They only see him look at them with a sinister smile on his face and they immediately return to Ryuichi Cave. These snakes are smart enough to know it's better to not fight someone who can kill 6 of them so easily without stepping away from the stadium.

The scenes of Zoro killing 6 snakes before scaring the remaining 6 by just glaring at them have made the ninjas speechless. Even Orochimaru and Hiruzen forget that they are in the middle of a hate talk because they are too focused on what has just happened.

Everyone else also stops whatever they are doing when they see Zoro's 1st attack killed a group of giant snakes so easily. The next attack that also killed 2 snakes made them forget that they were in the middle of a war.

Then when the giant snakes suddenly run away just from being glared at by Zoro, the ninjas lost it. They start wondering if they can even contribute here and if this attack on Konoha is truly necessary now.

But a lot of them recover from their astonishment rather quickly. It includes Minato who finally realizes that he can ask for Zoro's help. So he immediately throws a marked kunai near Zoro's feet and teleports there.

Zoro can sense Minato's movement, so he isn't surprised at all. His Observation Haki is powerful enough to even catch up to Minato's teleportation jutsu. This means he won't be taken by surprise when he fights someone who can teleport.

For now, the only one who can teleport is Minato, at least Zoro only knows Minato. But he can't rule out the possibility of someone else being able to use it and be his enemy, or Minato himself becomes his enemy somehow. So he always needs to prepare for it.

"Why are you here? Don't you have a fight you need to do?" Zoro looks at Rasa who is being held by Fugaku, Itachi, and Shisui.

Strangely, Shisui is wearing a blindfold made out of a bandage to cover his eyes. Zoro hasn't seen Shisui for years, so he doesn't know what's going on with him. He wants to ask, but he's not close with Shisui and it's not the time for that.

"There's something urgent that needs your help. I have sent the 1 Tail away from the village. But I think it will return quickly, so I need someone to hold it while we handle the remaining attackers including the 4th Kazekage who is in an abnormal condition."

"What do you mean abnormal?" Zoro pretends to not know about Edo Tensei because it's one of Konoha's secrets.

"I can only tell you that he is under Orochimaru's control and there's something wrong with his body that makes him unable to die normally. The only way to stop him is by sealing him. But it's difficult to even get closer to him because of his gold dust ninjutsu."

"Sounds complicated. So what do you want from me?"

"Please hold the 1 Tail until we finish handling everything here. We'll compensate you well, so please help us. I want to ask for Master Jiraiya's help to hold the 1 Tail off, but he won't be found that fast. If it's you, I know you can do it without any problem."

"So that's how it is. Hmm, fine, facing a Tailed Beast seems to be more fun than some normal ninjas. But you better prepare a good reward for me and make sure to keep my baby girl safe." Zoro points at Hiyori who sits on Torao's back with Naruto's little brother beside Kushina and Mikoto.

"Baby girl, huh? You are turning into a father slowly, hehe. Obviously, we'll protect her without you even asking."

"Alright then, send me there. Ah, send that gold bastard to the same place too. I'm sure you'd rather have him far away from the village as soon as possible. He might be annoying, but his gold dust is very destructive and he can cover a very wide area with his jutsu. It surely will be better to fight him away from the village, right?"

"R-right. But then you will face 2 strong opponents at once."

"So?" Zoro raises an eyebrow as if asking why does it matter if he fights Rasa and Shukaku at the same time. It's as if he's saying that fighting both of them at once won't make any difference.

"..." Minato doesn't know what to say and finally just agrees to do it like that.

He has thought about sending Rasa away from the village too, but he doesn't know who to send to fight Rasa. As the Hokage, it's better for him to stay in the village and lead their ninjas. But other ninjas don't have good compatibility to fight Rasa, especially since Rasa is an Edo Tensei and can only be stopped by sealing him.

"W-well, if you can hold them off yourself, then I can send him to the same location too. I will still send Master Jiraiya there to help you once we find him. So don't force yourself."

"Sure." Zoro wants to say that he doesn't need anyone's help, but he doesn't want to talk for too long, so he just agrees.

Minato quickly teleports him to Shukaku's location, which is in the forest quite far from Konoha or any other towns. As Minato feared, the giant sand raccoon is currently running toward Konoha while shouting angrily for suddenly being teleported so far away.

Zoro quickly sends a big slash attack at Shukaku from behind. It hits the big fella's giant sand body and makes him fall as he runs. Shukaku looks back with a very annoyed face to see who dares to attack it.

"DAMN IT! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" Shukaku asks angrily at Zoro who stands on top of a tree.

"Is that the tone you use to someone who you almost stepped on, fatty?" Obviously, that's a lie because Zoro was teleported behind Shukaku. He just wants to annoy the tailed beast to make it focus on him.

"What did you call me?" Shukaku seems to be annoyed by something else though.

"Fatty?"

"I see, so you really said it, huh?" Shukaku looks very angry.

Zoro can feel its chakra rising as the ground starts shaking.

"MOTHERFUCKER! I'M NOT FAT. MY BODY IS SHAPED LIKE THIS SINCE I WAS BORN." Shukaku is very enraged for being called fat.

Zoro raises an eyebrow because he doesn't remember Shukaku having a complex about being called fat. He knows this raccoon is grumpy, but he doesn't know being called as fat can trigger it this much.

Shukaku immediately takes a very deep breath that enlarges its already big belly. Then it shoots a very big and powerful air bullet at Zoro who calmly swings his sword down.

Just with that simple gesture, Zoro cuts the massive air bullet, splitting it in half. Both halves get separated and they blast the trees on Zoro's left and right.

Zoro is impressed by Shukaku's power while Shukaku is surprised that Zoro can cut its attack so easily. There weren't that many people that could face his powerful air bullet since he was born, after all.

So it's quite surprising, especially since Shukaku can sense that Zoro doesn't actually have a high amount of chakra compared to those who could face his attacks in the past.

"Who the hell are you?" Shukaku is taking Zoro seriously now.

Zoro smirks and says, "Just a guy without a mustache."
