The scene shifts!
Ishmael gasped sharply and instinctively reached for his chest.
At the moment he touched the crown, Ishmael had been prepared to reactivate the Eternium energy barrier, but how could his speed compare to that of lightning?
The last impression burned into his mind was his chest being instantly torn apart by the lightning.
But something strange occurred. Ishmael was startled to find that his chest was completely unscathed—there wasn't even a tear in his clothing.
Before Ishmael could comprehend the bizarre situation, ghastly laughter, like wailing ghosts, echoed from behind him.
Shivering, Ishmael turned around to find his surroundings had drastically changed.
The entire landscape was engulfed in black and crimson hues. Beneath his feet lay hardened rock exuding the stench of sulfur, and in the distance, molten lava churned and bubbled intensely. He stood on an elevated piece of stone.
Horrified, Ishmael surveyed his environment, feeling as though he had stepped into hell itself.
"A millennium has passed…"
A thunderous voice boomed, and Ishmael spun around in terror. Emerging from the lava behind him was a massive demon wielding a gigantic sword. Its skin was a deep crimson, and large horns like those of a bull protruded from its head.
"Our successor has finally arrived."
Ishmael didn't know who this being was, but from its towering form, easily tens of meters tall, and the overwhelming aura of power it exuded, he knew this entity's strength was beyond anything he could fathom.
"Successor?" Ishmael echoed, not even pausing to question how he could understand the demon's language.
"Yes, descendant of the Ahk-Ton royal bloodline. You are the inheritor of our power."
The demon grinned wickedly. For this moment, it had waited for over a thousand years. The power of the demons had finally torn open a breach into the mortal realm. Their influence could now reach into that pure world.
"Those wizards found a champion to inherit the powers of the gods, but we… we have found ours!"
As the demon's words seeped into Ishmael's mind, the fear in his eyes began to fade. In its place burned unrestrained madness and ambition.
"I am the king of Kahndaq!" Ishmael declared.
"No, you shall be the king of this world!"
The horned demon plunged its massive sword into the molten lava below, sending waves of heat surging outward. It sneered at the insignificant human before it, baring its fangs.
"Now, speak our name and make the world tremble!"
The demon spread its arms wide.
"Say our name!"
A surge of power, potent enough to destroy everything, erupted from deep within Ishmael. He raised his head, gazing at the crimson sky of this hellish realm, unable to suppress his longing for strength any longer.
The names of six demon lords each manifested as a letter, forming a single name brimming with infernal might.
Without hesitation, the name surfaced in Ishmael's mind. He opened his mouth, took a deep breath, and bellowed:
"SABBAC!!"
---------------------------------
In the central region of Kahndaq's royal city.
The intergang's hovercraft had been completely reduced to burning wreckage. Without the protection of the Eternium energy, the aircraft stood no chance against Teth-Adam's divine thunder.
Pulling his wings free from the ground, Hawkman supported Adrianna by her elbow and asked solemnly, "Are you hurt?"
"I'm… I'm fine." Adrianna panted heavily, still shaken. She had never felt so close to death before.
She had thought ten meters would be a safe distance, but she hadn't anticipated the sheer devastation of Teth-Adam's attack. If not for Hawkman's quick reaction, she might have been caught in the explosion.
Though Adrianna had resolved herself to die if necessary, survival was still her preference. She had a son, Amon, and she didn't want him growing up as an orphan.
As Teth-Adam approached, Hawkman nodded at him. The battle had changed his opinion of the ancient rebel.
Noticing Hawkman's rare display of goodwill, Teth-Adam gave a slight nod in return. His nature was straightforward—treat him with respect, and he would do the same.
"Did we succeed? Are they… are they all dead?" Adrianna asked, glancing at the flaming wreckage of the aircraft with lingering fear.
"Yes," Teth-Adam said firmly. "I guarantee none of them survived."
But before they could breathe a sigh of relief, a golden light abruptly appeared beside them.
From within the light, Doctor Fate emerged, stepping out of thin air.
"What have you done!?" Doctor Fate demanded, his voice filled with urgency.
"We killed Ishmael and the entire intergang. The war is over. They won't have another chance to destroy Kahndaq," Teth-Adam replied.
"The crown… where is the crown?" Doctor Fate asked, removing his helmet, his wrinkled face etched with worry.
"The crown…" Teth-Adam turned to Hawkman and Adrianna, then hesitated before saying uncertainly, "It should have been destroyed with the aircraft."
"Impossible. The material of that crown doesn't belong to this world. It would never be destroyed so easily. Don't tell me you let the crown come into contact with the descendant of the Ahk-Ton King," Doctor Fate said with deep unease.
At that moment, a gust of wind swept through, and the Flash, Barry Allen, appeared in front of them, curiously surveying his surroundings. "Am I late again?"
But Doctor Fate had no time to address the Flash. His gaze was fixed on Adrianna as he asked urgently:"Do you remember the inscription engraved on the crown?"
"Life leads to death?" Adrianna replied hesitantly.
They had already investigated the crown back at home. It was a strange artifact, with the only clue being that seemingly meaningless inscription carved into it.
"Life leads to death" didn't seem like a proper incantation. It was more akin to a simple statement.
But that single statement made Doctor Fate's heart race. "We had it backwards. Our initial assumption was wrong. This is a mark left by the demons. The correct interpretation should be—"
Before Doctor Fate could finish, Hawkman interrupted.
"Death leads to life?"
In the next instant, before anyone could react, a terrifying surge of energy erupted from the burning wreckage of the aircraft, shooting straight into the sky!
A violent tremor rippled outward. Doctor Fate raised his hand, summoning the Ankh of Life, which shielded the group from the incoming energy wave.
Hawkman grabbed Adrianna's hand and brought her to Barry Allen's side. Though he didn't fully understand what was happening, the memories of his past lives warned him of an incredibly powerful threat awakening.
"This isn't something an ordinary person can handle. Flash, take her and get as far away as possible."
Hearing this, Barry Allen nodded. He didn't know the full situation but understood that his job was clear.
Carefully supporting Adrianna, Barry didn't waste a second. In a blur of motion, he vanished down the road with her.
With the group's only vulnerability removed, the remaining three turned their attention to the source of the energy burst.
"This must be the result of the Ahk-Ton King's pact with the demons from a thousand years ago," Doctor Fate said, his brows furrowed in regret. He cursed himself for not realizing the truth of the crown earlier. Sensing the overwhelming demonic presence pouring out, he felt bitter.
"Be cautious. I can sense the presence of at least four demon lords. These are the powers of true high-ranking demons."
As Doctor Fate spoke, a massive figure began to emerge from the inferno, slowly revealing its true form.
"Damn it," Hawkman muttered, cursing under his breath as the Nth metal in his hand transformed into a battle axe.
"Carrying the power of six demon lords... the Crown of Sabbac," Doctor Fate said solemnly, his gaze heavy with concern.
As an agent of the God of Order, Kent had inherited much knowledge from Nabu, including arcane wisdom. Nabu wasn't just a god of order but also a god of writing.
This meant that nearly all recorded knowledge in existence was within Nabu's grasp. Naturally, the Crown of Sabbac, which bore the power of six demons, was part of that archive.
Kent had never imagined he would one day face such a terrifying opponent in battle.
From the flames, a massive reddish-brown hand emerged, followed by the rest of Sabbac's towering body.
"Kahndaq, your king has returned!"
The demon stood over two meters tall, with thick ram-like horns atop its head and a pentagram of molten lava glowing on its chest.
Ishmael no longer bore any trace of his former humanity. After accepting the infernal power of the demons, he had completely transformed into a true demon. His combat abilities now rivaled those of a high-ranking demon.
"No matter what, we can't let him ascend to the throne," Doctor Fate said gravely to the two standing behind him.
The Ahk-Ton King's pact with the demons wasn't just about inheriting their power. The king intended to open a permanent gateway between the mortal realm and hell, releasing the demons upon the world.
To accomplish this, both the Crown of Sabbac and Kahndaq's throne were indispensable.
Without waiting for Doctor Fate's warning, Teth-Adam charged forward. Seeing a descendant of the Ahk-Ton royal family brought back memories of his wife and son's assassination a thousand years ago.
With a roar, his lightning-infused fist slammed directly into Sabbac's face!
