539. The Flash Who Travels Through Time!!

In reality, defeating Sabbac wasn't easy. The creature, who had gathered the powers of six demon lords, was still incredibly terrifying.

Unfortunately, Ishmael, who had gained Sabbac's powers, was too weak in his original form. Perhaps it was because he had just awakened and hadn't fully grasped the power yet, which caused him to struggle to harness all of Sabbac's strength.

Under normal circumstances, suppressing Doctor Fate and Hawkman was already his peak. Once Black Adam adapted to fighting Sabbac, Ishmael probably wouldn't last more than a few rounds against Black Adam.

Moreover, the most crucial factor was that, unlike other types of energy, demonic power had a strict hierarchy. High-ranking demons could completely overpower low-ranking ones, leaving no possibility for a comeback.

While the Seven Deadly Sins and Sabbac were of the same rank in terms of demons, after absorbing the energy of the Trigon, Alex's Seven Deadly Sins now greatly surpassed all other demonic energy.

Only the likes of Mephisto and Lucifer, on that level, could compare, and even this Lucifer was merely a fragment, not God's opposite.

Because of this, the Seven Deadly Sins could perfectly devour the flames spat by Sabbac, and every time the two demons clashed, the Seven Deadly Sins would overwhelmingly seize the other's energy.

In this process of consumption, Sabbac's defeat was just a matter of time. From the very beginning, he had lost the initiative due to the sneak attack, and from then on, he had been under constant suppression. This meant he no longer had any chance of fighting back.

The only thing that might have impressed Alex slightly was when Ishmael tried to shout out Sabbac's incantation at the end.

At this moment, Ishmael was surrounded by Black Adam, Doctor Fate, and Hawkman.

"Uh... ah..."

Looking at Ishmael lying in the deep pit, foaming at the mouth and grinning foolishly, the three heroes exchanged glances, their eyes filled with complexity.

"He's probably gone insane, and he no longer has any demonic energy. It seems the Seven Deadly Sins have devoured all of it." Doctor Fate sighed.

"No wonder that demon considered Sabbac an enemy. It wasn't hatred, but the natural order of hunting." Black Adam narrowed his eyes.

The sudden appearance of the Seven Deadly Sins had given him a strong sense of threat. Against such a level of enemy, even he couldn't guarantee a 100% victory.

"I thought the divine power in my body was already powerful, but I didn't realize there were so many terrifying things in this world."

Upon hearing this, Doctor Fate turned to look at Black Adam, giving him a slight smile.

"This is also the reason the Justice Society was formed. To protect world peace, we need to gather all the strength from around the world."

"Wait, where did the Seven Deadly Sins go?" Hawkman couldn't help but ask.

"I don't know. The aura of the Seven Deadly Sins didn't linger for long. The last place they appeared was here, but I can't sense its presence anymore. Regardless, after devouring Sabbac's energy, the opponent will undoubtedly experience a terrifying boost."

Doctor Fate sighed as he spoke.

"This Earth is truly a turbulent place. It seems that ever since the war with Krypton, the entire world has become increasingly dangerous."

Even he, the messenger of the god of order, now felt an immense amount of pressure.

"In any case, the disaster in Kahndaq is over. Next, we'll help with the reconstruction and cleanup. Since we now know of the existence of the Intergang, we can't just stand by and do nothing."

"Hmm."

Black Adam nodded, then he turned to Doctor Fate, remaining silent for a long while. Finally, he murmured softly.

"Thank you."

Hearing those words, both Doctor Fate and Hawkman were taken aback, surprised for a moment. But they quickly recovered.

"We should be the ones apologizing. When we received the Justice Society's mission, I made a false judgment about the true situation. Not only did we wrongly cause you unnecessary suffering, but we almost put the people of Kahndaq in danger."

After a brief pause, Doctor Fate said seriously, "Zatanna was right. Justice and evil shouldn't be defined by us. This mission has tainted our name, but I believe that with your addition, the Justice Society will never make such a mistake again."

Upon hearing this, Black Adam's previously stern face showed a hint of a smile. He then turned to Hawkman, who had remained silent all this time.

Seeing both Black Adam and Doctor Fate looking at him, Hawkman finally understood what they meant, but he still pretended to be oblivious, saying,

"Why are you looking at me? Hurry up and contact the Society and arrange for some manpower. We still need to find a prison for this guy."

"It's already been arranged."

Suddenly, a deep voice came from behind the three of them.

Turning around, they saw the Flash and Crow strolling over, as leisurely as if they were on a walk.

Looking at Ishmael, who had completely lost his sanity on the ground, Alex smiled faintly.

"I know a place specifically for madmen. Let him stay there, and there shouldn't be any problems."

The follow-up reconstruction work in Kahndaq no longer needed Alex and Barry Allen's attention.

Doctor Fate and Hawkman, after fighting alongside Black Adam, had come to know each other better. Through this battle, they had gained a clear understanding of each other's personalities, and their communication had become much warmer.

Since Doctor Fate and Hawkman had often worked around Egypt, they took responsibility for helping with the reconstruction and cleanup of Kahndaq. Along with Black Adam, they turned their focus to the remaining forces of the Intergang.

It was foreseeable that the Intergang would face a catastrophe this time.

As for Alex and Barry Allen, they used a portal to return to Gotham. Now that the Kahndaq issue was resolved, they could finally sit down and chat.

When Alex told him that Black Adam's combat abilities were on par with Kara's, Barry Allen couldn't have been more excited.

Of course, the young Barry Allen didn't know about the internal politics of the Justice Society; he was simply happy that another powerful superhero had joined the Society.

Throughout the journey, Barry Allen was particularly excited, almost like a child who had aced a test and wanted to show it off to his parents. He couldn't stop telling Alex about his recent accomplishments.

Alex, on the other hand, was happy to listen to the stories. After experiencing so many desperate parallel universes, these more routine tasks made Alex feel a sense of relaxation.

After sending Ishmael to Arkham Asylum, Alex, Barry Allen, and the old Bruce Wayne talked late into the night in the Batcave.

The next day, due to work reasons, Barry Allen had to return to Central City. He had gotten so caught up in his conversation with Alex that he had almost skipped half a day of work.

This caused quite a disruption to his newly acquired internship opportunity. Fortunately, old Bruce Wayne made a call to the commissioner, resolving the situation.

However, it seemed that Barry Allen would no longer be able to leave Central City for a while unless there was a special reason. He had originally planned to see Alex off.

Bruce Wayne worked quickly—or perhaps his ability to throw money around worked well—and within a few days, the first batch of supplies had arrived at Wayne Manor.

"This is just the first batch; more will come in slowly. Though it's not much, it will be enough to sustain the people of the Wasteland for a while."

Looking at the several warehouses filled with supplies, Bruce Wayne glanced at Alex and softly said,

"I thank you on behalf of the people of the Wasteland. These supplies will save many families." Alex nodded seriously.

Though it seemed like just a drop in the bucket compared to the billions of people in the Wasteland, in reality, the Wasteland did have some supplies. What they needed was simply not to let the last straw break the camel's back.

In the hands of those about to starve to death, these supplies could save lives.

Moreover, as Bruce Wayne mentioned, more supplies were being transported, ensuring a continuous stream of aid.

"I'll take these back first, and then I'll have Pietro and Kara lead the Overseers to re-establish contact here. Once that's done, the two universes will be fully connected."

This time, Alex had used the Timepad's ability to travel through time. To avoid jumping randomly on the timeline of Flashpoint Universe One, Alex decided to have the Overseers create a permanent channel here.

At that point, the flow of time in the two timelines would gradually synchronize, and the strange phenomenon where one universe had a year pass while the other experienced only a day would no longer occur.

But with that,

"The next time we meet, who knows how long it will be," Alex said with a wry smile.

From their earlier conversation, old Bruce Wayne already understood Alex's plan. Although establishing connections between his universe and others was a very risky choice, Bruce Wayne chose to trust Alex.

Perhaps because Batman was really getting old, he now began thinking about the future of the Flashpoint Universe. He couldn't guarantee that the Justice Society's heroes would still be able to protect it a hundred years from now.

So, at this moment, he chose to find a reliable ally for his world.

"I've heard about the demons in Kahndaq. That so-called Seven Deadly Sins—was that your doing?" Bruce Wayne asked with a smile.

Alex didn't hide it and nodded.

"Yes, Sabbac's powers were somewhat helpful to me, so I took care of him as well. It's better to have the demons in Hell have some reservations."

After a brief pause, Alex seemed to worry about Bruce Wayne misunderstanding him, so he added,

"But you can rest assured, this energy won't affect me. Though it looks very evil, it's just one way of using power."

Hearing this, old Bruce Wayne waved his hand. "I'm not worried about that. Someone who has the ability to travel between universes would never use energy they can't control."

"However, this move of yours has made Kent and the others quite anxious. The Justice Society has now listed the Seven Deadly Sins as the number one threat."

"What should I say, should I sympathize with the Seven Deadly Sins still sealed in this universe?"

Alex laughed heartily before his expression turned serious.

"The Justice Society needs to be aware of the crisis. What they need most is this kind of pressure; it will help them face future unknown dangers better."

"Mm." Old Bruce Wayne nodded gravely.

Then, the old Batman extended his hand, his expression somewhat solemn.

Seeing this, Alex raised his hand to shake it. "Next time, Pietro and Kara will come in my place. Take care of them when that happens."

"Don't worry, my old bones can still hold up for a year or two."

The two exchanged a smile.

In the end, Alex left in the sunset.

Looking at the empty warehouse, old Bruce Wayne let out a long sigh.

Parting was always painful, especially for the aging Batman. He knew that with each meeting, he would see Alex, his old friend, less and less.

Most ordinary people at his age had already lived to see their third or even fourth generations, but for him, from his youth to now, he had devoted his entire life to Gotham.

He had just barely retired, only to face even greater challenges. More and more superhumans were emerging, and all kinds of threats were eyeing the Earth.

All of this made the old man feel exhausted. Perhaps, the days of ease and happiness had long since become a luxury for him.

After pondering for a long while, as the sun sank below the horizon and darkness claimed the sky, old Bruce Wayne slowly shook his head, preparing to leave.

"Bruce—"

Suddenly, a loud roar exploded beside old Batman.

Just as he was about to turn around, the space behind him was instantly torn open by lightning. Countless bolts of lightning erupted, accompanied by a violent hurricane.

Old Bruce Wayne stared in shock at this scene, his throat hoarse, unable to say a word.

"Bruce!"

In the rift, a blurry figure suddenly emerged. The figure stretched out its hand, seemingly trying to grab something.

"Bruce, listen to me—"

Although the torn armor on the figure made it hard for Bruce Wayne to recognize them, he still managed to identify who the person was.

"Barry?"

But Barry Allen had no time to answer his question now. The rift was continuously bursting with lightning energy, as if something was affecting him.

"It's Alex!"

"He's the key to everything—"

Barry Allen said seriously.

"Am I too late? I'm too late..."

Grinding his teeth, Barry Allen used all his strength.

"You were right about him! Everything you've thought about him has been right!"

"Trust him!"

The white light in the rift slowly expanded, and Barry Allen's body uncontrollably shrank back into the rift with the light.

"Find him, Bruce!"

"You have to find Alex!!"
