551. Bast, the Panther God!

Billy Batson gripped Alex's collar tightly and spoke slowly, word by word.

"Whatever happened here, Alex, we need to leave as soon as possible."

"Are you familiar with the power of faith?" Brainstorm looked at Billy with a surprised expression.

"A wizard once told me that only the prayers of the most devout believers can be sensed by the corresponding gods. But since the Old Gods withdrew, those prayers haven't caught the gods' attention for countless centuries."

Billy didn't answer Brainstorm's question directly. Instead, he stared intensely into Alex's eyes and continued.

"You know the power within me. As an God... a demigod, I can sense these prayers. Something catastrophic must have happened here."

"Are you saying this is a divine realm?" Alex seemed to remember something.

"The god is praying for redemption, Alex. Although a lot of time has passed, a dead god doesn't just lie here quietly."

Billy Batson spoke seriously. "You mentioned sensing the undead, right? You should understand that ordinary souls can't corrupt magical energy, but gods with immense resentment are a different story."

Upon hearing this, Alex finally understood why this place felt so strange to him. It wasn't like the undead near the borders of Hell at all.

Grasslands, fires, a divine realm...

A flash of lightning exploded in Alex's mind, and suddenly, he recalled a corresponding dimension.

"I know where this is."

Clenching his teeth, Alex grabbed Billy by the arm and turned to shout at Brainstorm and Franklin.

"Franklin, Valeria, get on the train! Hurry!!"

"What—?"

Although they didn't understand why Alex was suddenly so urgent, both of the child prodigies weren't oblivious.

After exchanging a glance, they immediately began to move.

They ran quickly towards Alex and Billy, one after the other.

Billy clutched his chest, wanting to do something, but the instability of his divine power from dimensional travel made him uncertain.

At this moment, he wasn't sure what would happen if he uttered a spell. Billy could only muster all his strength and quietly said.

"Be careful, they're coming."

Before Billy could finish speaking, Alex sensed something as well.

The Watcher's Eye spiraled within Alex's pupils, and he saw dark shadows quickly moving across the distant grasslands, approaching the group in an eerie manner.

Not even ten meters behind Brainstorm and Franklin, a pair of golden pupils were peering at them from the dense grass.

Alex recognized those eyes—it was the gaze of a hunter observing its prey.

"How dare you!"

With a cold snort, Alex hurled his birdbeak mask into the air.

The mask twisted rapidly in mid-air, and an ominous aura of powerful demonic energy surged from it. Countless tentacles rapidly emerged from the back of the mask, stretching out towards the shadow.

The mask passed between Brainstorm and Franklin, and at that very moment, the owner of the golden pupils moved. The figure leaped directly towards the slower-moving Brainstorm.

"Screech!"

The sharp claws were less than a meter away from Brainstorm's head. The dark figure moved at lightning speed, but the mask's tentacles were faster.

Before it could get any closer, the tentacles split into dozens of whips and lashed out at the figure.

At that moment, Alex swiftly grabbed both Brainstorm and Franklin, pulling them behind him.

"Didn't expect we'd stumble upon this place," Alex said, his gaze cold and filled with complexity.

"What's going on?" Brainstorm, who had narrowly escaped death, had no idea what was happening. She curiously poked her head out from behind Alex.

In her line of sight, all she saw was the birdbeak mask swirling in the air with nothing else.

Franklin was also confused. He glanced at Alex, unable to see what was going on himself.

"You're still unable to fully control your power, Franklin. These energies, mixed with divinity, aren't pure. Close your eyes and feel what's before you."

Placing his hand gently on Franklin's shoulder, Alex didn't mind taking a moment to teach him about using his powers.

Sure enough, upon hearing Alex's words, Franklin slowly closed his eyes. At that moment, the chaotic energy around him surged into his mind.

Furrowing his brow, Franklin instinctively tried to expel the energy, but soon stopped. He had suddenly received a strange vision.

Though it was fleeting, Franklin was sure that with his eyes closed, he had truly 'seen' something.

Following the strange feeling, Franklin slowly began to manipulate the energy within his body, merging it with the chaotic aura around him.

The dark vision gradually brightened, still blurry, but Franklin realized he was beginning to see something.

Feeling this unique experience, Franklin slowly lifted his head and shifted his "vision" toward the direction of the birdbeak mask. Then, a completely different scene appeared in his mind.

He saw a massive black panther fighting countless tentacles. The panther's size was so enormous that even a Tyrannosaurus Rex would seem like a tiny lizard in its eyes.

What shocked Franklin even more was that half of the panther's face was made of bones, with broken flesh connecting to the bones, making it look even more hideous.

Unconsciously, Franklin opened his eyes and took two steps back, looking with an uncertain expression at the empty grassland.

Noticing Franklin's reaction, Alex pursed his lips.

Although Franklin possessed immense power, Alex had to admit that, despite his maturity, Franklin was still just a child. No matter how composed he appeared, he couldn't hide his fear of the unknown.

"What... What is this?!" Franklin looked at Alex.

"Bast, the Panther God. One of the Nine Pillars of Egypt, the highest-ranking deity worshiped in the Wakandan Pantheon." Alex gazed at the mindless panther and quietly revealed its identity.

Unlike the Egyptian gods Billy Batson was familiar with, this Black Panther God, like the unique Wakanda of the Marvel Universe, was an existence unique to the Marvel Multiverse.

Although Black Panther's combat ability and performance were not particularly outstanding in the Avengers, and the Panther God rarely made an appearance, underestimating this deity would be a huge mistake.

Any being called a god is never simple. The Black Panther God possessed the power to annihilate the King of the Shadow Realm in an instant.

Additionally, the Black Panthers protected by this god had such pure souls that even Mephisto couldn't control them or touch Wakanda.

Every generation of Black Panthers, when their lives came to an end, would be guided by the Black Panther God to a divine realm dimension that belonged only to them, like Valhalla for the Asgardians.

Because of this, Alex didn't want to disturb this incredibly dangerous entity, but unexpectedly, his actions were still a step too late.

"Is this the unwillingness and resentment of a god before death, mixed with the undead born from the dark magic left here?"

Looking at the giant monster tearing at the tentacles and continuously trying to break free from the birdbeak mask, no one could associate it with the god Bast, who protected Wakanda.

The sky grew darker, and shadows surrounded from all directions. Wisp after wisp of black smoke rose from the earth beneath the grassland, and the energy of the entire dimension began to mutate.

"They've marked us as invaders."

Alex said, then quickly shielded the three behind him and moved toward the train's entrance.

"Hurry! Get on the train!"

Although Brainstorm couldn't see anything, she understood the gravity of the situation.

Hearing Alex's words, she immediately jumped onto the train and quickly returned to the driver's seat, beginning to restart the train's energy system.

Franklin supported Billy Batson, who was much taller than him, and followed closely behind. A fierce cold wind swept through, and the air was filled with the howls of wild beasts.

Alex raised his hand to block an energy shock. He knew that the vengeful spirits of past Black Panthers were trying to break through their mental defenses. These beings had lost all reason.

They had gone completely mad. These guardian spirits of peace had been corrupted by dark magic, and together with the gods they once believed in, they had descended into an endless frenzy.

Seeing that everyone had boarded the train safely, Alex began to feel a sense of retreat.

Fighting a bunch of long-dead gods here was pointless. Not only would it waste his energy, but it would also cause unnecessary losses.

With one foot on the train, Alex grabbed the handrail at the door.

"Hurry up and start the train. I'll hold them off!" he called out.

"But we haven't determined the exact location of this dimension. Without an anchor point, jumping blindly is very dangerous," Brainstorm replied, looking back.

"I've already set the anchor point. You just need to start it," Alex responded in a deep voice, and a set of data was uploaded directly to the train's control console.

Upon seeing this strange scene, Brainstorm froze in place. She had no idea how Alex had set the anchor point ahead of her, or even provided a clearer dimensional profile.

While she was distracted, Billy Batson suddenly pointed outside and shouted loudly.

"Fire! It's on fire!!"

Alex looked out at the sound and saw a rootless fire suddenly erupting from below the grassland. The strange energy caused the scorched roots to catch fire once more.

Gradually, the black shadows revealed their true forms. They were terrifying, zombie-like creatures, with exposed flesh and bones.

Among them were gods with the heads of panthers and human bodies. Each set of eyes looked at Alex and the others with immense hatred.

The once boundless green grassland was instantly consumed by flames, and countless shadows surrounded the train.

"Start the train, Valeria."

Alex tore his gaze from the birdbeak mask, which was still battling the Black Panther God, and turned to look at Brainstorm.

"Hurry!"
