Standing at the entrance of the House of Mystery, Pietro nervously placed his hand on the doorknob.
"You all should already be clear about the specifics of this mission, right? Since there is no fixed time anchor, our traversal will randomly slip through the timeline. I can't be sure which time point we'll arrive at," Alex said.
"Understood. One of our tasks is to find an appropriate time anchor, so we can reach the right point in time without disrupting the other timeline," Tony Stark responded.
Just like with the previous White Queen, Emma, in order to avoid disrupting the time flow of the Flashpoint Universe, they could only choose to travel to a set future, specifically to the position after Alex's previous visit.
However, since this time the timepad's traversal is random, they couldn't determine whether they'd arrive three months or three years later.
Although Miss Minutes had done her best to control the traversal nodes, ensuring the error wouldn't stretch to six or seven years or even hundreds of years, no one could guarantee what that universe would be like.
"I hope Bruce Wayne has already prepared enough supplies for us," Pietro sighed, twisting the doorknob.
"I hope that Old Bruce Wayne is a bit more human than our Bruce Wayne," Tony Stark shrugged.
In the depths of Gotham City's Forest Park, a purple portal suddenly opened, startling a flock of birds.
"You see, I told you it was Alex's fault. Let me handle the traversal—there's no way we should end up next to a garbage bin!"
As soon as they stepped out of the portal, Pietro excitedly spoke up.
"At least Alex dropped us in the city. You've brought us out to some desolate wilderness," Kara shot him a glare, then activated her X-ray vision to scan the surroundings.
Having left the Wasteland Universe, Kara's immense combat power surged back into her body, revitalized by the sunlight from the Flashpoint Universe.
Feeling the continuous flow of power within her, Kara clenched her fist, a smile forming on her face.
"Anything unusual?" Pietro turned to Kara. He knew how terrifying her vision was, especially in this universe.
"We're in Gotham. I can see Gotham Harbor and Wayne Tower, although it's a bit far off," Kara said, gazing far into the distance, her vision cutting through the towering trees to the city beyond.
"That's good, that's good," Pietro sighed in relief, patting his chest. He had been startled earlier; if they had been teleported to some remote wilderness, things would have been quite problematic.
"So, what's next? Where do we go to find this Batman?" Ashley asked, curiously scanning the area.
Just like Tony Stark, it was Ashley's first time in this universe. Though she had visited Gotham City before, it had been a city reduced to ruins by a magical apocalypse, very different from this version.
"I should be able to connect to this world's network system through the satellite tower, then I can access my battle suit freely. Supergirl, report a location, and we can fly directly there," Tony Stark suggested, having yet to learn teleportation magic.
"No need. Our mission needs to remain confidential. Alex has already informed me about the changes here. You don't know how much effort Bruce Wayne put into hiding our identities back then," Pietro shook his head and continued, "If we fly there with a lot of fanfare, all our secrecy would be for nothing. Don't forget, Stark, our interdimensional trade is only with Batman."
"Alright, you're the leader, it's your call," Tony Stark shrugged.
Seeing Pietro take on more of a leadership role, Ashley smiled with pride and stood behind him, waiting for his next instruction.
"This is the phone Alex gave me before he left. It only has Barry Allen's and Bruce Wayne's numbers saved," Pietro said, pulling out the phone and accessing the contact list that Tim had modified for Batman.
"Let's wait here for a moment. I'll make a call and have Mr. Wayne come pick us up."
Meanwhile, in the turbulent space-time of the Wasteland Universe.
Brainstorm kept a close eye on the dashboard and radar compass. His tense nerves finally started to relax.
"Phew, we did it. We've now upgraded to a relatively stable spatial domain. Beyond this point is the edge of the space-time dimension, a location no one's ever explored," Alex said.
"Can you hold on, Franklin?" Alex asked, looking at the constantly releasing energy of Powerhouse, which had been active without rest.
"I'm fine. Compared to blocking the space debris like you did, this is nothing," Powerhouse wiped the sweat from his forehead, smiling.
On the other side, after a long period of recovery and adaptation, Billy Batson slowly returned to his normal state. Although his complexion was still a bit pale, overall, he was no longer in any significant danger.
Since the work on the train didn't require his intervention, Billy had been paying attention to his surroundings, remaining alert to any potential danger that could arise at any moment.
Suddenly, he sharply noticed something amidst the distorted auroras and kaleidoscope outside.
"Look outside the window—what are those things?"
At Billy's words, Alex turned in the direction Billy pointed to and saw two massive space warships quietly hovering about a hundred miles away in the midst of spatial turbulence.
In a space corridor where no life forms should be present, the appearance of these two "companions" was clearly not a normal phenomenon.
Brainstorm also noticed the sight. After thinking for a moment, she spoke.
"Is it an illusion? The space wavelength and energy reactions here can sometimes affect our brain's perception. That's most likely a mirage-like vision, not something that truly exists."
"It's not an illusion. I can feel that those are actual ships," Powerhouse shook his head, speaking with confusion. "But for some reason, it seems like there's no life signature aboard them."
"Having life signatures would be even stranger," Billy Batson said, unable to help himself. "This isn't an amusement park; not everyone can have the ability to travel through this space like we can."
"Hm, you make a good point, but why would there be ships here?" Powerhouse furrowed his brow.
"Could they be survivors of a failed spatial teleportation?" Brainstorm looked toward Alex.
Many civilizations in the universe used space folding technology to traverse vast distances between galaxies. While this technology was impressive, humanity still hadn't fully mastered space manipulation.
Not everyone could safely pass through the hexagonal corridors, and every year, various ships lost their way in spatial turbulence due to accidents.
Brainstorm clearly regarded these ships as potential survivors, and since they were in a relatively calm region of spatial turbulence, it made sense that the ships hadn't been torn apart.
However, Alex, using his Watcher's Eye, clearly saw the two space warships. Looking at their model and external structure, he quickly recognized their identity.
"Those are ships from the GodWorld."
"GodWorld? You mean Asgard!?"
Billy Batson, who had a close relationship with Black Canary, often sparred with her after she gained Thor's powers. As a result, he had learned a lot about Asgard from Black Canary.
"That's right. I can't mistake the emblem of the GodWorld," Alex answered solemnly.
"That's strange. Asgard ships don't use space folding. They have their own Rainbow Bridge, a legitimate divine power that's much safer than space folding," Brainstorm said, her brow furrowing as her mind raced. "Could it be that those supercriminals from back then stole an Asgard ship and ended up here?"
"It's possible, but not likely. Don't forget that the battle happened during Odin's sleep. Odin was just asleep, not dead. With Asgard's combat power, no one would dare attack them," Alex recalled some details of the past battle. He wondered if Red Skull had done it on purpose or if it had been a stroke of luck. At that moment, the Nine Realms were in a parallel state.
At that moment, the nine dimensions were connected, and the prepared Dark Elves and Frost Giants ravaged the Dwarf Kingdoms, trying to breach Asgard's divine realm and overthrow the rule of the All-Father.
While there was chaos on Earth, other dimensions were not idle either. Not only Asgard's divine realm, but Olympus and several hellish frontiers were also dragged into the battle.
In some ways, the battles between the gods were far more brutal than the struggles of Earth's heroes. Countless races joined the conflict, bringing the fabric of reality itself to the brink of collapse.
"Now I understand," Alex muttered to himself.
He finally understood why the Mirror Dimension had shattered in the way it had!
He had been curious about who could destroy the entire Mirror Dimension, but if it was the war between the gods, everything made sense now.
The planetary alignment, the Nine Realms' parallel state, and Earth, as the center of Midgard, couldn't have been spared. But why hadn't the monsters from the other realms attacked Earth?
In fact, they had come—but they were all stopped by Doctor Strange and the other Temple Guardians, trapped within the Mirror Dimension.
Unfortunately, Doctor Strange fought to the death but couldn't protect Earth. After Baron Mordo and Dormammu ambushed Strange, the Three Great Sanctums fell, and most of the mages bravely perished.
The Mirror Dimension then fragmented during the battle among the gods, and the remnants seen in the earlier space turbulence were likely fragments of the images from Fall of Gods.
