Blue, blue eyes

It was a mistake. A big mistake and perhaps if she had realized it earlier she wouldn't have been in this situation or maybe she had known from the very start but had still decided to do this. She didn't know where the sudden boldness was coming from but this wasn't her. It wasn't, because she was the kind of girl that sat in a corner to cry whenever she was bullied at school, she was the kind of girl that never had the courage to defend herself even if she was the one who was right and ofcourse she was the kind of girl that would rather bury herself than ever speak up. It was her. She was just the way she was. But right now, at this moment she wasn't that girl anymore. She had known because that girl wouldn't go to her father's study which was out of bounds to her to look for information on the person they wanted her to marry. Believe it or not she had dropped the file containing the information when she realized who her future husband was going to be. Shock was an understatement of how exactly she felt with the overwhelming things she had discovered that morning. Gianna didn't know, didn't think why such a man would want to marry her. They weren't even closely related in age not to talk of interests. There was nothing remotely wrong with this union but everything ultimately wrong with it. What had her parents been promised in return to have her she didn't know but whatever it was she wasn't going to sit down to be a trading commodity for a barter system or whatever this was. She hadn't thought about anything when she left the house, took a taxi and came straight to her future husband's company. Whatever possessed her to take such a bold step was beyond her capacity of knowledge. Surprisingly, she had even turned bolder with every second they got near to the company. It was as if every ounce of fear had fled her body. She didn't have a plan ofcourse but she didn't care either. She was going to destroy this marriage. Rule number one was to sabotage the wedding and rule number two was to stick to the plan. She had been amazed at how big and tall the building was, ofcourse it wasn't short of her expectations after all this was The Xavier Castillo's company. The young, rich and successful man who had taken the whole business empire by storm. Speaking to the receptionist and convincing her to allow her in was the hardest part. She was as hard headed as there ever were and at some point she has even wanted to give up, well thank God she didn't because now she was going to request her boss for an audience with her. She stopped pacing when she saw Helena making her way towards her in perfect strides as if the information she was carrying didn't depend on her entire life. Gia saw the faint blush on her cheeks and wondered what that was all about. She didn't have time to dwell on it though, she had something very important to focus on. The boss has allowed you to meet him," she stared her up and down as she said, sweet disdain coloring her voice. Gianna smiled a little in appreciation, not liking the way the woman looked at her as if she wanted her to bow down and worship the very ground she walked on. Nevertheless she still thanked her with a courteous bow and almost made her way past her when she felt a hand grab her arm. She stopped, turned and looked at the woman holding her with a questioning gaze. "You barely look 18. What could you possibly want with the boss," she furrowed her brows at her, curiosity swirling in her honey like eyes. Ah so that's why she was blushing. She clearly liked her boss. Tch too bad though, she didn't think this fondness was reciprocated; not that it even mattered to her. With a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, she gently disentangled herself from her hold. Giving her another curt bow, she stepped aside from her and made her way to the elevator that went directly to the CEO's office. She wet her lips, not knowing why the man had simply agreed to meet a total stranger. She knew how difficult it was to meet such people and whether or not it sounded absurd she was glad he had decided to meet her at all. Reaching the office, she made her way to the door and gave a light knock. "Come in," a deep, husky voice washed over her and she gulped, steeling her spine as she finally pushed the door open. Just as she expected, the room was vast and barely in any other colors apart from black and grey. She didn't personally know the man but she could tell the ambience was exactly what he embodied. Her eyes travelled to the magnificent view overlooking the city and she was suddenly jealous that he got to enjoy this view all the time. Gianna went closer to his desk, noticing how he hadn't raised his head to see who had entered. Clearly if he was going to be assassinated he wouldn't care less as well. Was she supposed to greet or get straight to the point? The former seemed more polite considering she was the one with a request. "Good day Mr. Castillo," she mustered the courage, his name leaving her lips in barely above a whisper. He finally looked up from what he had been so engrossed in and her eyes met his. She gasped, her eyes widening a bit in what she didn't know was surprise or shock. Perhaps both as she marvelled at the pair of eyes that stared at her. Blue, blue eyes staring into her light green ones in deep concentration and with such intensity she wanted to bolt but she stood her ground; he was trying to intimidate her. Continuing their stare off she realized she hadn't seen blue eyes such as his before. They were blue so blue and bright and even though emotionless so full of life. She could drown in them and find happiness in there and if that wasn't even the craziest thing ever. Her future husband was very attractive infact so attractive she wondered if he was real at the moment. Now she understood why the receptionist was blushing all over. If you saw this Adonis of a man everyday you'd be a blushing mess too. Well too bad. She really wasn't interested like that. Maybe if the situation had been different but now she just wanted to go to college and pursue her dreams. She took in a deep breath, readying herself for the bomb she was about to drop. "I cannot marry you Mr Castillo," the big frown of confusion that slowly made it's way to his beautiful face made her know infact that it had seriously been a big mistake coming here. She was fucked.
