Her!

Wreckless. Exactly what he had been in telling his receptionist to send the girl in. Perhaps it was the way the unknown girl had piqued his interest without even trying. He was a hard man to please and every one knew that. He barely made decisions that wasn't going to benefit him or his company so he was still reeling from the fact of what he had clearly done. Xavier Castillo never regretted his decisions though so there was definitely a reason he had allowed this to happen without so much as batting an eyelid. If she had been sent to cause a scandal she was going to understand why he was referred to as 'a ruthless devil'." There had been many instances where women had tried to get close to him and throw themselves at him but he wasn't interested. Not in anything they had to offer at least. For this stranger to catch his attention, he had really been impressed by her. Hearing the little knock, he ushered the person inside not bothering to look at her. A sweet lavender scent filled the entire room as she entered and Xavier was surprised he didn't find it repulsive. The receptionist's had so why not hers but then again this scent was way different from Helena's strong, repulsing perfume. He felt her come closer but still decided to not react, waiting to see what she would do first. Her sing song voice sounded when she greeted him and that was all it took for him to raise his head to look at the person causing havoc in his brain. His eyes met her light green ones and she saw them widen. She was tiny. And dainty. She barely looked 20 and it made him wonder what a girl like her wanted to talk about. Nobody and it meant nobody had lasted a second staring into his eyes the way this small almost fragile girl had. He saw the slight fear in her eyes but also the determination in there to not cower. It amused him. Xavier didn't know who this strange girl was but she was the first person to ever show this kind of defiance towards him. She was different and he liked different. Her next year's had him stop and stare at her with an incredulous look wondering what she was talking about. "I beg your pardon," Xavier said, his perfectly arched brows knitting in confusion as he leaned on his desk, his expression clearly demanding for an explanation. Gia stared at him wide eyed, realization dawning on her. He didn't know!He didn't know!! Oh dear heavenly God, what had she done! She gulped, the intensity of his eyes making her step back instinctively. "Who are you?" his deep voice rumbled through her and she clenched her dress, everything whirling around her and muddling her brain. "Gianna Michaels," that came out with so much confidence than she would give herself credit for, taking in a deep breath to face this head on. He leaned back in his seat, his blue blue eyes raking all over her in obvious scrutiny, making her feel very self conscious. She stayed calm though. "I believe marriage comes when two people like each other and the man has clearly been a man and proposed. I don't remember doing any of that with you Miss Michaels," those eyes were so judgy it made her skin crawl. "Maybe you haven't been told yet Mr Castillo but I have and have come to the mighty decision to not marry you," Gia said firmly in her resolute voice, her demeanor calm and her composure absolute. He smirked and it made her lose her breath at how breathtaking he looked with that devilish action. "You barely look 18, miss Michaels. I don't think marriage should be any of your concern at your age," Xavier said in a nonchalant tone not caring if he struck a nerve as he watched her lips part in shock, blinking her doe like eyes at him. "You. How dare you. I'm not a child if that's what you're insinuating. I would have you know that I just turned 19, an adult clearly," Gianna was fuming at this man's audacity to refer to her as anything below 18, glaring daggers through him in annoyance. Xavier wasn't pissed. No, not one bit. He was supposed to be considering how this little girl just spoke to him. Nobody spoke to him like that and went scot free but the fact that she rather amused him instead of irritating him had him questioning if he was alright. He raised his brow, his lips forming into a sarcastic smile. "A pity. You're not even 20," he saw her eyes widen even further and her cheeks turn a shade of red. Interesting. "I'm. not. a. child," Gia said through gritted teeth, clenching and unclenching her fists. This future husband of hers was a real pain in the ass. Good thing she was calling off this alliance because clearly it was never going to work. She couldn't even imagine it, the thoughts made her shudder. "Rest assured miss Michaels, I don't want to marry you either. Whoever arranged this match clearly didn't consider the age gap," he said subtly and indirectly hinting at the fact that she was too young for him. Hmph, he was the old man here. Gianna rolled her eyes. "But you're brave miss Michaels I'd give you that," his compliment made her raise her brows not quite expecting him to say that. "The only reason I believe you is that I know my grandfather is behind this. I wouldn't put it past him but it was also very foolish of you to come to my office without an appointment and say anything on this matter," Gianna's mouth twitched. Didn't he compliment her in like two seconds ago. This man. "I know but I really needed to stop this marriage and the only way was to find out how willing the other participant was," she mused with pursed lips. "You pique my interest in a way no one has ever done before miss Michaels," Xavier's words shocked Gianna, his intense eyes making her clear her throat in awkwardness. "Uhm...if that's a good thing th... thank you Mr Castillo," what was wrong with her; why were her cheeks turning warm under his gaze. "It was nice meeting you my ex future wife," her heart skipped a beat, his words reasonating over and over again in her ears. She didn't miss the intent behind it and she understood what he meant but why was her heart racing when he said wife. Ofcourse she had stopped this marriage she was supposed to be esctastic; something was definitely wrong with her. "Same, Mr Castillo and thank you for being so understanding of this," yeah right she was a kid in his eyes there wasn't really anything to understand here. "I'll take your leave," she said politely, smiling a little as she turned around, her back facing him. She took in a deep breath and knowing very well he still had his piercing blue blue eyes on her walked out of the door and never looked back.
