The pictures Gianna took at the mall the other day were made into big billboards and plastered almost everywhere human life was detected. It was like they were advertising her instead of the clothes brand and everyone who saw it couldn't help but admire the ethereal and almost unreal person in the picture whose smile captivated almost everyone that came across it. Oblivious of her overnight fame, Gianna stepped out of the car that had dropped her at school and everyone looked at her like they were seeing her for the first time. She was confused as they all stared at her, whispering to each other and murmurings circulating round her. Up until now she had been an invisible wall flower to anyone who didn't know she existed and she liked it that way. It brought some level of peace in this school and yet now everyone seemed to have their eyes glued to her like leeches. Weird. She tried to ignore their stares and made her way through the ton of people saying excuse me more times than she had probably said her entire life. She gasped and almost stumbled to the floor if she hadn't caught herself. There in front of the school building was a picture of her plastered boldly in the walls. It was one of the pictures she took at the mall and although it wasn't anything scandalous it still made her feel self conscious. She had so many questions but at least this had answered why they were all staring at her. "I didn't realize we had such a beauty in this school."Can you believe it. She looks like she shouldn't even be real." I know right, it's like she walked out of a painting or something." Maybe it was because she had seen the picture but now their murmurings were so loud, she could hear each and everyone clearly or is it that they weren't trying to be subtle anymore. They were all talking about how beautiful she was and a whole bunch of stuff she had tuned her mind out of. "What if her parents found out. What were they going to do. Oh good Lord! What had she done. Tiana, she needed to find her. She managed to avoid the mass of people who wanted to make conversation with her and all but fled to the school's garden where students didn't frequent. She panted, trying to catch her breath as she sat on the only bench in the garden. This had become some sort of safe haven whenever she needed to be alone and today was certainly one of them. Bringing her phone out she tried to call her best friend but to no avail. Gianna hadn't felt so frustrated in her entire life before. Not even the time her mother had punished her to put a book on her head and walk straight all because she said her posture wasn't straight enough or that she walked like she had the whole world's burden on her shoulders. Even that hadn't frustrated her as much as this. If anything she was losing it and so far it didn't look very good. She tried to calm herself first so that she could think. At the moment if there was even a single sensible thought running through her mind then she would be lying to herself. She was imagining a thousand different ways her parents, especially her mother would scold her. Each one was horrifying than the other and she decided to think about something else, anything at all. Xavier. Wait what! Why was she thinking about him in this crucial moment. Was she that brave or she had truly lost her damn mind. She couldn't believe out of all the things she could tune her mind to, it had to be that breathtakingly beautiful man. What! She wasn't lying. That man's beauty could be distributed to the whole world and he would still be the most handsome person to ever exist. His eyes were the most difficult to resist. She had almost told him told him she was ready for that marriage. Almost. If she had not held her tongue at the time she wondered if they would have been a thing by now. It wasn't like the idea of dating hadn't crossed her mind a few times, it was just that she didn't feel it right to want to date anyone and this man had almost made her forget her goals in life to actually choose him over them. Now that was something scandalous. She hadn't seen him after the day she left his office and in the little nook of her heart that she didn't even want to admit she couldn't help but want to see him again. Although the only one reason to explain her situation would be that she was going crazy. Absolutely nuts. Perhaps he had even forgotten she existed. It wouldn't be a surprise though, the number of important people who actually added meaning to his life and business were probably the only ones he allowed privilege to be part of his thoughts. His whole personality screamed "don't fuck with me and I won't fuck with you" kind of way and he embodied it to a fault. She didn't know if he knew any means to contact her but supposing he hadn't for the last couple of days he had probably solved the issue and hadn't bothered about her since she was going to hear it anyway. She didn't know why the thought of it made her heart clench though. She stretched her legs out on the grass breathing in the fresh air surrounding the place. It was warm and fragrant and it somehow calmed her heart finally. When she had accepted to model for the mall it hadn't crossed her mind that they could be using it publicly and they also didn't bother to inform her about it maybe they thought she knew how it worked. This was all starting to get so confusing. She checked her phone for any message from Tiana but there was none. She was going to personally butcher that girl if she ever came close to her. Gianna had always been the type of person who was reserved and quiet. Rather than putting herself out there she preferred to be presented by other people while being behind the curtains and that's where she found her comfort in. No one and nobody could convince her to do anything if she wasn't comfortable with and yet she had allowed her hard headed best friend to convince her to do this photoshoot and now her face was literally everywhere. She couldn't possibly go to the mall to ask them to take them down; that wouldn't be nice at all. It was time for her classes and she really didn't feel like going. Some of their stares were gnawing on her and making her very uncomfortable. Still she needed to attend classes. And the bigger question was how exactly the school had gotten the pictures to boldly paste it on their walls. Who even allowed it in the first place. The principal? The administration? This was a school, a learning institution so how the hell had did they find it appropriate to do something like this. Now she needed some answers and she wasn't going to sit around and wait for them to drop on her lap. With reluctance she got up from the bench, took her bag and walked out of the garden to the main halls. The stares hadn't stopped. If anything it seemed to have increased and gone out of hands. Ignoring them she made it her sole priority at the moment to get to the principal's office. Thankfully nobody tried to stop her and she was grateful for that. It was as if they could tell she wasn't in the mood for any comment that they wanted to pass. Reaching the principal's office she knocked slightly. She had never been to the principal's office. Had never done anything warranting that so it was taking everything in her to not bolt away. A small but firm feminine voice echoed, ushering her in and she willed herself as she finally pushed the door open. The office was huge and there was everything one expected to find in a principal's office. "Good morning Miss Dante," she greeted, bowing a little. She looked at her adjusting the glasses that sat atop her nose bridge. She was a slightly plump woman in her early fifties. Even at her age she still looked like the person who still went out to night clubs to dance yje night away. She looked that young and beautiful even at her age. "Oh miss Michaels," as recognition shine in her eyes, her face brightened from her earlier scrutiny breaking the awkward moment in the room. To be honest she had considered running away if the woman had kept looking at her with that weird blank look for more that two seconds more. Gianna smiled a bit in return wondering how she knew her name all of a sudden. Principal's didn't know the names of the students who attended their school unless ofcourse if you served a great purpose for the school. What purpose could a person who had wanted to remain invisible all her life till now probably do for the school body? Mind you it didn't mean she didn't have her own unique talents. She just wasn't brave enough to share them with the world yet. "Come, come sit," she sounded very enthusiastic, pointing to the chair in front of her with an eagerness that made her weary. She took her seat, shifting uncomfortably at the way the woman's hawk like eyes kept staring at her. "I'm sorry to disturb you. Miss Dante but there seems to be a misunderstanding of some sort here. I don't know who did it but there's a picture of mine plastered for everybody to see on the school walls," she pursed her lips wondering what the woman would say. Perhaps that, she would find the people who did it and punish them or they would take it down to reassure her. The possibilities were endless but the words that tumbled out of the woman's lips had her stop and stare at her in shock. "You've seen it already. How delightful," this woman sounded too chirpy and sweet for her own good it was almost grating. "Excuse me,"she couldn't help the words that came out of her mouth next. "You don't know how much you've elevated the school with your face miss Michaels. You've now become the face of Brighton university of young talents and my dear you have made the whole school proud including the board of directors," the smile hadn't left her lips for the whole duration of her talking and her words had Gianna staring back at her in utter disbelief. "B...but how does this...I mean it's just a picture," she finally found her voice a d the question sounded even more ridiculous as she heard it. Maybe but the girl in the picture isn't just anybody. This beautiful face of yours has made our school so popular and has skyrocketed our stock price in ways you cannot even comprehend. To say thank you the school decided to rightfully accord this achievement to you and thus your picture," Principal Dante explained it in one breath and Gia was still reeling from the shock of all the information she had just been told. Yeah sure she had become Mother Theresa for her beautiful face but why didn't they ask her before doing this. "Uhm...miss Dante, I appreciate your and the entire board's sincerity but can you at least take the picture down?" She wasn't sure this was going to work but she needed to give it a shot. "I know you should have been informed and we should have asked for your consent." Clearly someone missed the whole memo on that. "But... Oh there was a but, a freaking but?!! "You have to understand what you have done for the school and how this is like a one time chance for the world to discover you and unearth your talents," now she sounded like a mother trying to convince her only daughter who's never had a boyfriend to date the neighbor's son who was as hopeless as the daughter was. The metaphor hadn't been lost here since she actually really had never had a boyfriend. How ironic. At the end she really couldn't do anything to convince that woman and had managed to only walk out of her office when the praises of how beautiful she was had ended. She had said it in so many different ways than she could count and it had started to really tick a nerve. She was glad the woman had allowed her to leave. If she had spent another second in her office she would have utterly and completely lost it. If it wasn't anything serious she was never entering that woman's office ever again not even if her life was on the line. When she reached class, lessons had already began and she feared the lecturer was going to scold her. Entering the class she attempted to explain why she was late for class but the man's face literally lit up when she saw her and realization dawned on her. They were all going to treat her like she provided the air they breathed. "Welcome miss Michaels. Take a seat," the smile hadn't left his face even for a mere moment and Gia gave him a small smile of her own, going to take her seat to stop the way people were staring without having the decency to avert their eyes. Like read the room guys. At least she had managed to remain invisible for the rest of the lesson. After class she checked her phone for any updates from her best friend but there wasn't any. She also skipped school today. It wasn't Tiana's habit to skip school at all. Although she hated school sometimes she still sat through lessons and mostly slept through the entire class but this girl still made sure she was always in school so what was happening today. She was starting to worry. She called her again but her phone was unreachable. She tried again countless of times but the result was still the same. She really couldn't wait for classes to finish before going to look for her so taking advantage of her newfound favor in the eyes of everyone she apologized a thousand times to whoever and made her way out of the school. When she reached the security she didn't even open her mouth and the gate was opened for her with a smile. Okay, she could get used to this. She stopped in her tracks, coming face to face with a man she hadn't seen before and who was rather looking at her as if he knew her. He smiled at her at Gianna blinked. Okay, she said she could get used to this but this was getting out of hands. He couldn't possibly be looking for her right? Well he was a handsome man though. Dressed in all black jeans and leather jackets with relaxed charisma, he was leaning against his 'who knows what the name' expensive car. He was wearing shades and so she couldn't really identify if she knew him. "It's a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance dear future wife," he said in his deep raspy voice and Gianna stared at him in shock as she tried to grasp his words.
