Chapter 49: The Wand is Done

Gu Jiangnian didn't need to think too hard to know it was his uncle who had sold him out.

It must have been that he spoke to Mrs. Yu about what happened on the cruise ship, hence Mrs. Yu coldly questioned him today.

"It's just business," the man spoke, his words carrying a bit of reassurance.

"What business? I saw with my own eyes that she got into your car, Yang Hu's kidnapping---------."

"Auntie He," Gu Jiangnian cut in just in time to interrupt Yu Se's speech, called out Auntie He, gave her a profound look, and with a flick of his fingertips, he gestured for her to leave.

Auntie He sighed, then turned and entered the kitchen.

Gu Jiangnian took his mother by the shoulders and led her to the sofa, where they both sat down. He rolled up his sleeves, pushed them up, and poured his mother a cup of tea.

He had a certain way about him, as if encouraging her to cool down.
