Chapter 32: OUTRUNNING TROUBLE

Mia's face dropped as she folded her fists tight, "arsehole" she muttered, "you're pathetic".

Jonathan replied, "and you have a problem", his voice cold and detached. He then paused, his gaze fixed on Mia's choice of outfit, his eyes scanning her with a mixture of disbelief and disdain. "What are you wearing?" he asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm, his eyes tearing her outfit apart as if it was the most ridiculous thing he had ever seen.

Mia's face flushed with anger and embarrassment, her fists still clenched at her sides. "What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" she shot back, her voice defensive and her eyes flashing with defiance. "It's a perfectly good outfit!"

Jonathan snorted, his expression incredulous. "A perfectly good outfit?" he repeated, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "You look like you just rolled out of bed and put on the first thing you found on the floor," he sneered. "That outfit is completely inappropriate for your schedule meeting.

Mia's face flushed with anger. "I don't care what it looks like to you Jonathan, it's perfect" she protested, her eyes flashing with defiance. "And even if it wasn't, it's none of your business what I wear."

Jonathan's eyes narrowed. "Everything you do is my business, Mia," he said, his voice cold and menacing. "And if you want to make a good impression, you'll change into something more suitable."

Mia's eyes locked with Jonathan's, her anger and frustration simmering just below the surface. "I refuse to change," she spat, her voice firm. "This outfit is fine, and I won't let you dictate what I wear."

Jonathan's face darkened. "You must listen to me, you must obey me and do what I want you to do," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "Change, now."

Mia ignored him, taking a sip of her milk and munching on her waffle, her eyes never leaving Jonathan's face. Jonathan's face darkened in annoyance, his eyes flashing with anger. "Emilia," he yelled, his voice echoing through the room.

Sir Gary, who had been watching the exchange with amusement, finally stepped in. "Enough," he said, his voice firm but calm. "This is ridiculous. You're both acting like children."

Mia's face twisted in annoyance, her mouth still full of waffle. "Well, he started it," she said, her words muffled. "He's too controlling."

Jonathan mimicked her words, sneering, "No manners, not even a single one is implanted in you." Sir Gary was taken aback, surprised to see a playful side of Jonathan.

Mia pointed at him, her voice rising. "See, he's too controlling, always wanting to change me. I had to wake up three hours before my normal time. I should be sleeping, not arguing with a control freak!"

Jonathan's face turned red with anger. "STOP DISRESPECTING ME!!" he yelled, his voice echoing through the room.

"is it me or do you look incredibly hot this morning, not like an alien sent from Jupiter?" Mia said with a straight face, her tone dripping with sarcasm as sir Gary was taken aback.

"you're impossible to handle", Jonathan finally said giving in to frustration as he faced Sir Gary, "call in Tyga, he'd be taking her today" with that he stormed out of the dining room.

Mia smirked as she watched Jonathan storm out of the room, her eyes gleaming with triumph. She turned to Sir Gary, who looked like he was trying not to laugh. "Well, I guess it's time for me to leave," she said, her voice sweet as honey.

Sir Gary nodded, still looking amused. "Yes, I think that's for the best," he said, his eyes flicking towards the door Jonathan had exited through.

Mia stood up, her movements graceful as she made her way to the door. Tyga, who had been waiting outside nodded at her, "good morning miss", he greeted with a small smile on his face opening the black sleek bolt car door as Mia smiled at him before sliding in

Jonathan watched from his room window as Mia got into the car, her smile lighting up her face as she spoke with Tyga. He felt a pang of annoyance, wondering why she never smiled at him like that. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't notice Sir Gary approaching him until he spoke.

"She's really getting under your skin, isn't she?" Sir Gary said, his voice laced with amusement.

Jonathan turned to face him, his expression darkening. "What do you mean?" he asked gruffly.

Sir Gary chuckled. "Come on, sir. You're not fooling anyone. Least of all yourself. You're clearly invested in this game of cat and mouse with Mia."

Jonathan scowled, not liking the direction of the conversation. "I'm not, I'm just-" his words were interrupted by the ringing of the telephone in the room. He picked it up, his voice cold. "Speak."

"Reaper, boss. News just in: Leonardo Fernandez will be present at the charity ball tonight," the voice on the other end said.

Jonathan's face darkened. "What? I thought he was banned from every event for the next five years. I fucking made sure of it," Jonathan said, his grip on the phone tightening.

"I don't know how he managed it, boss," Reaper replied, his tone firm but laced with confusion.

"Double the security tonight," Jonathan ordered, his voice low and menacing as he slammed down the phone, "He'll get what's coming to him." he muttered, grabbed his leather jacket, and stormed out of the room, his anger and determination palpable.

***

Throughout the ride Mia kept talking and cracking up jokes with Tyga, As they sped through the morning sunrise Mia's infectious laughter filled the car, and Tyga found himself grinning from ear to ear. They bantered back and forth, sharing stories and jokes like old friends.

"...and then I told him, 'You're so cheap, you'd squeeze a penny till Lincoln cries!'" Mia chuckled, her eyes sparkling.

Tyga guffawed, his deep laughter rumbling. "That's classic, Mia! You're a natural comedian!"

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, jumping from one topic to the next. But as they turned onto the highway, Mia's gaze drifted to the rearview mirror.

"Hey, Tyga, isn't that car following us?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of concern.

Tyga's eyes flicked to the mirror, and his expression turned serious. "Yeah, they've been on our tail for a while now"

Mia's eyes narrowed. "What's going on?"

Tyga's jaw clenched. "I don't know, but I'm not taking any chances. Buckle up, Mia. We're gonna lose them."

With a swift move, Tyga swerved into the next lane, and the car surged forward, leaving the following vehicle in a cloud of dust.

Mia's heart raced as she grabbed the seatbelt, her eyes locked on Tyga's focused face. "Who are these guys?"

Tyga's face darkened, his eyes fixed intently on the road ahead. He ignored Mia's question, his grip on the steering wheel tightening as he pushed the car to its limits. The speedometer climbed higher and higher, the wind rushing past the car in a deafening roar.

Mia's eyes widened, her knuckles white as she clutched the seatbelt. "Tyga, what's going on? Who are these guys?" she demanded, her voice rising in fear.

But Tyga remained silent, his jaw clenched in a fierce determination. He knew exactly who those guys were, Mia's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew Tyga was hiding something from her, something big. And now, it seemed, they were in grave danger.

The car surged forward, weaving in and out of traffic with reckless abandon. Tyga's skills were impressive, but Mia knew they couldn't outrun their pursuers forever.

Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the air. Mia's heart skipped a beat as she saw the passenger leaning out of the window, a gun in hand.

"Tyga, oh my god", she screamed, her voice trembling with fear.

Tyga's eyes never left the road, his face set in a grim determination. He swerved the car sharply to the left, as Mia's stomach twisted, her eyes fixed on the pursuers' car.

The pursuer fired again, the bullet hitting the car's back window. Mia let out a terrified yelp, her eyes wide with fear. "Tyga, do something!" she pleaded, her voice hoarse with terror.

Tyga's jaw clenched, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. "Relax, it's bulletproof," he said, his voice deep and firm, trying to calm her down.

"Relax? Who the fuck are they? Why are they chasing us?" Mia asked, her voice laced with panic.

Tyga ignored her, his focus fixed on the road ahead. Mia's eyes narrowed, her frustration growing. "Don't you dare ignore my question, Tyga!" she warned, But Tyga did the worst - he raised the privacy screen, isolating her from him, and continued driving in silence.
