♡ Dream in a Dream

"Ha! Ha! Ha!"

Varunie suddenly sat up figuring out being huffing and puffing terribly. Her eyes were widened due to the horrific nightmare. The pretty forehead of hers was now drowned in the depths of her tension varying in sweat drops. Holding her breath in control with her slender fingers being the intersection of her chest – she let out a heavy breath, coming normal yet not wholly. Squeezing her both paths against her bedsheet, her sight wandered around the dark room. Which brought her confusion with thirst in her throat.

She gave a slight turn to the table beside her queen bed. Her hand worked to reach the glass of water, as she left her figures touched the glass – she moved her body forward and entered a chill sensation throughout her body by raising her goosebumps when a loud voice of glass breaking up into thousands of little pieces raised up and turned to silence in seconds.

A sudden silence began to creep her grief back into her body.

"Blake."

A sudden call pulled her to reality and she jolted. Her eyes creeped the whole room in the search of the person who sounded exactly like the girl she loved the most in her past. Immediately pushing her body out of the bed to the other side, she reached for the lights and lightened them up with a hope rosen to see someone she waited for a decades.

Like a meteoroid, her room lights flashed on her eyes. For a moment of being blind, she grabbed the vision and turned around just to leave with a broken heart and melancholy. She finds no one in her room other than her and her hidden shadow.

She looks at the direction she was positioned before but halted in the middle with wrinkles over her forehead. Her room door was opened but she doubted as she often closes it from inside. A sudden realization comes to her head,

"Might be that person who called me before."

Saying that, her hope immediately comes back and she rushes out of her room but suddenly stops when she only sees pitch-dark in the corridor and stairs. She bites her lips and makes a voice.

"Is there anyone downstairs?"

In seconds, the lights of the corridor and the stairs lightened up. Startled, she couldn't think of moving a step forward. Fighting within her fear, she took a step forward and halted immediately when a rush of footsteps were rising up rapidly. Her heart was racing due to the pressure she was holding on herself thinking about the footsteps. And,

A woman appeared nowhere with her head down. She walked slowly out of the gloomy self and finally faced Varunie.

"Miss Varunie, it's me, Alaia. I just arrived for the cleaning."

"Ah… I see." She said it as she didn't feel like she's the only one facing the dark.

"But I never see you wake up this early, Miss Varunie."

"Huh? Time…?"

With that puzzled expression, she pulled her head inside the room to look at the pendulum clock – an unexpected gift from her grandmother in the memory of her grandfather. She blinked to clear her vision and simply glanced at the time without really reading it but her eyes widened when she recalled the position of clock hands. A swift turn to clock and she let out a gasp.

"4 O'clock? But cleaning starts at 5 O'clock, right, Alaia?"

She said, gluing her sight on the pendulum clock. But when she turned to Alaia, the pendulum clock made a loud voice and her body jolted, seeing the corridor dark all of a sudden – her body began to shiver. She immediately got inside and Locked her room. Her voice got stuck into the air but came to calm when she felt nothing – no rapid footsteps or horrific screams like in movies.

She controlled herself with a palm above her chest. Getting to normal, she got detached from the wall with a genuinely rested mindset. Her sight moved from rest to motion, moving from her toes to the floor she broke a glass of water.

"Huh!"

She gasped as soon as her eyes located the broken pieces of glass that weren't carrying water but… blood. Every broken piece was dipped in dark blood. Her eyes were shivering. She felt suffocation being haunted for no reason.

"Why… Why only me?"

"Blake."

Sobbing in the haunting silence, a sweet voice raised from nowhere. She sensed a cold breath near her ear. As she turned, her heart throbbed out and fell to the ground with screams and wail.

"Blake! I will kill you!"

"No!"

At this moment, in the present, she opens her eyes which were filled with horrific nightmares and fear that she couldn't fight against, was seen within her.

"A dream in a dream…? Haa…"

She sat up gradually taking support of her elbows but in the halfway her one hand elbow slid off and she smacked on a fluffy pillow, wearing a dismay expression on her face, her head bounced on the pillow.

"Are you okay, Young lady…?"

Hearing a gentle voice, she turned her head to voice. Her eyes widened bright. She felt a high breeze moving stiffly across her body when she figured out a most handsome face being stuck in the air, mesmerizing her with his bright ocean eyes. Her hand urged to touch his fair and bright face but with a gulp she held herself stiff in a position as if she's paralyzed for a flash of a second.

Hey? Did she forget to blink? Like me, the same doubt arose in the man's mind. Following her hazel eyes, he looked behind but found none and then he realized that she was glued to him – Mesmerizing performance of his bright ocean eyes and fair skin.

Puzzled, he immediately waved his hand in front of her face and she jolted with the sense of coming back.

"A-Ah? Wh-Who are you?"

With her words she immediately struggled to sit up but the man abruptly held her both the shoulders, placing himself on the edge of the bed. With expansion of her hazel eyes, she glanced at both her shoulders where soon he is going to leave his prints of his gentle touch. Gradually, he laid her back to the bed and replied commonly,

"I'm no one but a savior of yours, Young Lady."

And the magical statement ended up with his most praised smile and croissant shaped eyes. That glint glittering on his face – no doubt, she's gonna have a heart attack very soon.

'Holy! Can someone be this hypnotic?!'

"I love you." Hey! Lady! Have you zoned out?!

"Huh?"

"I-I don't mean it… I was just praising…you." And here comes an embarrassing moment. She immediately hid her embarrassed face into her palms and began cursing herself for saying something so unusual for a stranger.

Though he was so stunned by her zoned out request, he broke out into a sweet chuckle. Those soft chuckles made a summer Bell sound in her heart that she arose with startle. When she witnessed his chuckle in real time, she couldn't trust what she really caught sight of. A strong feeling of bliss drummed in herself that only left her in amusement.

With his eyes open, he had a moment of fascinating eye contact with her and smiled in a beautiful way that Varunie's heart immediately throbbed out.

"It's alright. Don't feel embarrassed, I don't really mind it, Young Lady."

By his kind understanding, she replied with a bright smile. Being addressed as "Young Lady" by him seriously blossomed her inner happiness. Obviously, she's going to live longevity by this amazing man.

"I'm Varunie Blake. Nice to meet you."

She said and forwarded her hand in front of him for a handshake. For first, he was a bit surprised, but with a smile he connected with her hand and said,

"I'm Muhammad Imran Gonzalez. I'm pleased to meet you, Ms. Blake."

"Oh! Your name is so long…"

"I can feel you, Ms. Blake."

"Don't make me older by addressing Ms. Call me Varunie simply."

"Ok. I will call you "Varunie simply" from now on."

"Hey! No!"
