Trust

"I will see you later" Yuzuru almost screamed as Mia dragged Alex out of the changing room and back at the hotel.

Never trust your child with secrets, she thought to herself.

Not that liking Yuzuru was any secret, but now the Japanese knew she had admitted that to her child, making the whole thing a bit more serious than what she usually allowed him to think it was.

Alex looked all proud of himself as they walked to the hotel and she almost wanted to scold him, even if she knew deep down that she had no right to do so.

"Are you mad, Mom?" He asked her about halfway there.

"No... But I would prefer if you don't tell him those things."

"But they are true."

"Yes, but it doesn't mean that I am ready for Yuzu to know."

"Because we can't stay in Japan."

The damn kid could be too smart when he wanted to be.

"That too."

"But you could date in distance." He whined, surprising her.

"We are not dating, Alex." Giving her son false expectations about her relationship with a man that was still his idol was something that she didn't want to do.

"You kiss, you hug and he says he likes you... Isn't that dating?"

Shit, Mia thought.

How do you explain to a child this type of adult dilemma? Because she was quite certain she wasn't dating Yuzuru.

They hadn't spoken about it or even mentioned a thing about a possible relationship but Mia could understand why her son was confused.

Hell, even she was with all of the PDA that Yuzuru gave her in front of his team and peers. It was almost as if they were announcing a relationship that wasn't clear to either of them.

"It's complicated" was all she answered to Alex, the answer that didn't answer anything but everyone used to escape what they didn't want to reply.

Thankfully he didn't question any further and as they arrived at the hotel, she completely collapsed on the couch. Exhausted and ready to sleep for the next 24 hours if she was allowed.

Alex just let her be, he noticed how sleepy she was the whole day and knew that his mom wouldn't generally allow herself to fall asleep and leave him on his own, but he highly doubted she would last too long given how tired she was.

All he could do was behave and wait for Yuzuru to come.

He played some games as he waited, and his mom was asleep in just a few minutes as expected.

As usual, Alex barely noticed the time going by as he played the games and the only thing that made him realize just how quickly it had gone by was the sound of the doorbell.

His mother had taught him well. Just because they were expecting someone anyone else could be at the door. Because of this, the boy took a chair and went on top of it to see who was at the door from the peephole.

Yuzuru, from the other side, heard a chair being dragged and found it weird immediately.

The second strange thing was how long it took for the door to open, as well as hearing the chair being dragged again before the lock finally opened.

It barely even surprised the skater to see the boy opening the door, not with what he had heard.

"Hey, Alex. Where's your mom?"

The kid immediately shushed him and pointed at the couch, where Mia was sleeping peacefully in a weird position that was certain to make her back ache the next day.

"She was really tired, huh?" He said in a low whisper to avoid waking her up as he entered the room.

"I think so. I tried to behave while I waited..." The boy answered with uncertainty.

"I'm sure you were amazing and well-behaved to make sure your mom could rest. How about we put her on the bed? Should be comfier, no?"

"Yes. I'm not strong enough." He answered with a pout making Yuzuru smile.

"I think we can do it together, yeah?"

Alex nodded and in no time, Yuzuru was carrying her bridal style to the bed sheets that Alex was already unmaking to cover her.

"Yuzu?" She mumbled softly as she woke up in his arms

"Rest, beautiful. I will take care of everything."

"Aren't you tired?" She asked as he placed her in the bed, eyes still half asleep.

"I can handle it. You want to eat anything ?"

"Too sleepy..."

"Alright. Get some rest, you can eat later."

"Yuzu" she called out again as he was turning on his back.

"Hum?"

"Thank you."

"It doesn't cost me a thing, Mia."

Yuzuru didn't even mind being on babysitting duty, even if that's not what he came here for.

Unwillingly, his body was making him prove that he could handle Alex, that he could help with the boy and be in her life like this.

The days were going by way too quickly and soon enough, these two would be out of his life again.

Yuzuru didn't want to think of that inevitable day.

If he was being honest, he couldn't bare the thought of letting her go again. Not when he knew how her lips tasted or how sweet her body felt against his.

Yuzu didn't even need sex to be completely consumed by her.

They had to find a way. He had to make it work.
