Confessions

Yuzuru just allowed Mia to rest for a bit. Ordering food for him and Alex, as well as something for her that could be easily microwaved later.

He ate with Alex as they discussed the show of that day, the boy being very curious about certain elements and how Yuzuru choreographed his program.

Yuzu often thought of how nice it was to be able to speak with someone about skating with so much freedom. Alex was so much like he used to be, the passion and love for the sport and competition that Yuzuru found gone because of all of the uncertainties and unfair scoring.

It was refreshing to feel something like this and in a way, it ignited Yuzuru's interest for the competitiveness of it all. Even if he wasn't planning on getting back to competition, he felt the need to help Alex reach all of his dreams.

And this wasn't even about Mia. It was the boy himself.

He was so much like his mother, it didn't even surprise Yuzuru that he was so interested in helping him as well. Maybe it was something about the personality that made him so interested.

Eventually, after they ate and played games for a little bit, they went to bed.

By now, their positions were very well sorted, with Yuzuru as close to Mia as humanly possible.

He did his absolute best not to wake her up but still settle at her side to sleep.

Yuzuru was comfortably laying on his back when she curled up against him, opening her eyes slightly.

"Hey" she whispered.

"Hi. Feeling better?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"You should stop thanking me. Alex is an angel, all you need to do is feed him and play some games and he is more than well-behaved."

"He's a nice kid"

"He was well raised." Yuzuru answered with a smile.

"Still, most people wouldn't do this for others."

"I don't care about others. I want you to be ok."

Mia was silent for a while, making Yuzuru worry that he had said something wrong.

"Yuzu, what are we doing?"

"Cuddling, I believe."

He had the stupid answer on the top of his tongue as if expecting the question.

"I'm serious..."

"I know. I wish I had a good answer for that but what I do know is that I like you, really like you."

"I need more. Alex is getting attached to you, I'm... You know. I can't have my heart broken in a week and a half when I have to leave you."

"We can find a way."

"Long distance isn't easy. And you're too busy to come and go to Toronto as you please. I need more, Zu."

"I will give you everything you need from me. "

"I need to know what we are. Because I can't just keep guessing when you kiss me in public as if you're announcing a relationship that I'm not even sure that exists."

"Oh..."

It was only then that Yuzuru realized just how confused Mia was. He had just assumed that from the point they were kissing that it was a thing, a relationship even if they hadn't spoken about it. The cultural difference was striking here, mostly because Japanese people weren't the type to just kiss people around.

"I know you don't deserve rage because of this, but I hate not knowing."

"Mia... You do know that I don't go kissing random women as a hobby. I certainly don't cuddle them in bed either."

"I hope you're not."

"It's not as if I would have the time when I spend every second of my free agenda with you."

"Yeah..."

"What I mean is that, for me, as soon as I kissed you, we became something, don't ask me to label it, but I am committed to you."

"So..."

"So I guess I do think of us as if we're in a relationship. I don't expect you to call me your boyfriend or anything since I never asked, but I do want to be with you."

"You guys do things differently here, don't you?"

"A little bit, but I should've known better. I lived in Canada long enough to know that you're far more casual about things in the West, especially in relationships. There's nothing casual about the way I see or care about you"

Mia gasped slightly, she didn't know how to answer those words.

"I...I love you." It suddenly got out and she placed a hand on her mouth immediately, regretting that she had said it like that.

Yuzuru had wide eyes, but a smile was immediately on his face. "I love you too." He admitted to her.

It wasn't easy, it wasn't something he took lightly, but he knew he was completely and utterly in love with this woman, whether he wanted it or not."

"You don't have to..."

"I already said it. And I do. I just didn't want to scare you away."

"You need more for that, Hanyu."

"We will figure it out... Ok?"

"Ok..."

A kiss on her lips sealed the deal, and a makeout session soon followed but they were careful enough to keep it gentle when Alex was sleeping right there.

Mia could feel his excitement as he pulled away and kissed her forehead, an attempt to stop before he got too carried away.

"I have some food we can microwave for you, you should be hungry..."

"You didn't have to.

"I still did. I want you healthy and comfortable."

"God, you're unreal. Sometimes I think you're this part of my imagination."

"I'm real and all yours, I can promise you that."

Another kiss, another sweet exchange of words and they were once again getting too carried away.

Mia was the one that pulled some distance from him, this time.

"Show me that food then."
