looting and questioning

As the creature laid there as a lifeless corpse, Zain went and hung the sword back on his belt.

Assessing the situation, Zain could tell that everyone else seemed in impeccable condition as if they hadn't put forth any effort. Damascus looked at Zain in an intimidating aura around him while Zain was piecing together what had just happened.

"Do you remember when you were younger, I told you about those fighters that used to be known as the Aura Warriors?" Damascus inquired after emanating something was bothering him for a while now.

"Yes, quite fondly actually. We spent hours after trying to see if we could summon an aura of any kind. It was also the day I was first told I would never be able to use magic." Zain responded with a dejected tone coming out with his last sentence.

Damascus had a smile forming at the corners of his mouth. "Good, then you also remember that there was only one of us who could even do the flying aura blade. It might have been just once, but I remember it like it was yesterday." Damascus spoke as his smile kept growing.

"Wait, you don't mean…" Zain's mother started before she was cut off.

"Yes, I mean Zain is the only one that has a change to revive the aura warriors." Damascus spoke off kilter which was also suspicious to Zain's parents as this was out of character in every regard.

"If he wanted to, he could probably harness the Aura Warrior's full power with the sword he just hung on his belt and become the first adventurer since the founding of the guild to achieve above C-Rank with out the ability to use magic."

Everyone gasped at this revelation looking at Zain intently.

"To this day, I still believe that it was you who did that. As many times as I have tried, I can't reproduce the outcome." Zain retorted rolling his eyes.

Shaking his head at Zains comment, Damascus replied to him. "I can't cast my magic on others. I have to physically be touching an object for me to use wind blade, and my others are all enhancement spells like boost and strengthen."

Zain's eyes popped at this before responding, "You never specified that, I though you could cast magic on whatever you wanted."

Everyone started laughing at seeing his revelation.

"Everyone who can use magic knows that the only people who can cast spells on to others are powerful wizards and sorcerers." Sophia decided to chime in before realizing that Zain couldn't use magic so that was why that bit of common knowledge wasn't known by him.

Zain proceeded to take time to inspect the daggers quickly to see if they would be worth anything on the market.

The intricate design made them look fancy, the hilt on each resembled a demon with horns that acted to catch the blade and a forked tail for a loop guard that came to rest with the tail behind its head.

As Zain continued studying the blades, he noticed some more runes of the same style as what was on the katana he currently had on his belt.

He walked up to his mother and passed the daggers to her and spoke, "I do not know what the runes are for yet, but upon returning to the surface I will see if I couldn't find out."

She nodded and took the daggers then smiled and asked a joking question. "How did you know my favorite weapon was a dagger?"

"Well, you never liked swords but most the time you liked things you could easily throw so I figured you would like daggers." Zain replied with a slight shrug.

Damascus and Sophia decided that her glaive had cooled off enough for her to use again while the broadsword also wasn't the best fit for her.

Zain's father was counting how many arrows he had left for his cross bow at this point and his face went to an expression of pure resolve.

Zain took notice of his father's actions and also saw him reach to his back ensuring that his spear with the rope attached was still there which it was, and Zain knew what that meant. His father was nearing the end of his arrow supply and was about to have to resort to his throwing skills.

From what Zain had heard, when his dad was younger, he could throw the spear and pierce the wing of a Wyvern while standing on a watch tower. Zain was wondering if he still had that kind of power to throw his spear because at the rate this dungeon was progressing, they were going to need it.

As Zain looked at the spear it looked like it had seen better days as the wooden shaft was splintering and the leather wrapping it had was fraying. The spear head had seen better days, but it was barbed so that when it got lodged it would rip out chunks of meat or tear chunks of flesh out.

Zain started scanning the group that was in the nearly pristine room when he saw that there was another door on the opposite side of the room. He started making his way towards the door and as he arrived, he realized that the door was just another direct entrance to another boss's room.

The handles were out of the same blackened iron in a ring form, Zain grabbed on and gave it a massive heave and it started opening. Zain proceeded to open the door all the way and looked at the group and motioned them all over.

Looking them all in their eyes Zain asked, "is everyone good to go?"
