The greater Demon Warrior

Zain proceeded to open the door all the way and looked at the group and motioned them all over. Looking them all in their eyes Zain asked, "is everyone good to go?"

Zain entered the room and as he did so, the torches lining the walls making the circular room of cobblestone seemed to intensify in both brightness and heat.

Standing in the center of the room, was what appeared to be another demon looking being. With hooved feet and legs that had long brow fur growing from them. Coming from his back there was a red forked tail. Going up past the waist, his skin was red, some parts bordering on crimson and others burgundy, with a well-defined physique especially in the pectoral area and the arms with rune-like marks covering his body. He had wings protruding from his back that were both red and back almost like that of a bad or a supposed dragon. Past the shoulders were traps that led to a thick neck, and a face with a square jaw and well defined and high rising cheek bones that perfectly complimented his crimson eyes right before his elongated horns that stood nearly straight up, and his black hair he had tied back into a warrior's braid.

Zain stood in amazement for a moment before noticing the gargantuan battle axe that was essentially acting as a walking stick for standing and still came to about shoulder height on this seven-foot-tall creature.

As the others walked through, a silence fell over everyone as Zain, who had become known in the group as someone able to both do vanguard, and ranged attacks was standing face to face and not drawing a weapon.

Zain's mother was the first to speak after everyone had entered. "So now we have a greater demon to go against?"

The rest of the group was still silent with solemn nods. Not a word dared to be murmured by the group as if they were standing on sacred ground.

The creature standing before Zain slowly lifted up its axe and grasped it resting it on his shoulder.

Zain, being a man of resolve and never backing down form a challenge, pulled out the Katana which glowed a soft blue-green sheen from the brightened lights in the room.

Taking a wide stance like last time, Zain placed the katana upright and slightly to side. His feet were pointed directly at the demon, and he was waiting for a reaction.

The demon seemed to also be waiting for an action to be taken.

Zain's father from the back was the first to make a move, he drew his crossbow and loaded a bolt, took aim, and fired.

The demon lurched towards Zain as soon as it got hit, not noticing that it was a bolt and not magical.

Zain quickly parried the axe swing that came towards him. Afterwards he came around with the katana slicing the demon's side and leg.

As the demon turned back to Zain, his mother came with the daggers from the previous demon and jumped onto its back and stabbed it, catching herself.

The demon recoiled slightly, losing grip on its axe. Upon realizing what happened, the demon started trying to get her off its back.

After two bucks, the demon started flapping its wings and took flight about eight feet off the ground. The arial maneuvers that it was demonstrating were about as precise as an acrobat in a circus.

Eventually, Zain's mother fell off its back being caught by his father. Keeping her from falling to the ground.

Zain pulled out his pistol and fired off a round at the still airborne demon, striking it in the joint of one of its wings causing it to fall to the ground.

Upon standing up, the demon let out a guttural roar shaking the room out of pure agony.

Zain took the opportunity to shoot it again and this time it struck it in the chest. Everyone gasped exasperated as the demon was trying to maintain its composure and restabilize himself pulling his axe up to attack again.

Damascus came charging at this point as Zain couldn't bock an attack of that caliber with a single hand on a sword. He caught the axe blade about three inches from himself and maintained his composure.

Zain at this point holstered his revolver and put both hands on the katana. Taking a deep breath, he braced himself in half meditation and then opened his eyes and stepped forward a few steps.

Even in the darkest of nights, it would be hard to notice the faint light that danced around Zain like a white border as he sprinted towards the demon. With a swift slash of his sword, Zain had lodged it about five inches into its broad torso right above its hips and pulled it out with ease.

A roar of agony was released from the demon's mouth as it gripped right where the sword was just pulled from. There was a dark purple liquid pouring from the wound Zain had just left on the demon's side that one could only presume was its blood.

The demon started growling while nearly hyperventilating from the pain it was currently in. Picking up its axe, it took a swing at Zain for leaving it with such a wound.

Zain quickly parried the axe and rushed the opposite side of the demon and slashed at it again.

The demon was getting bloodier and more filled with rage at this point. He slowly started swinging the head of the axe a few inches from the ground, back and forth like a pendulum getting closer and closer to grazing the cobble stone below.

The axe nicked one of the cobble stone pieces and immediately the demon started in on a rampage, swinging the axe around its neck with a flurry of strikes coming straight at Zain who would always deflect it with the swing of his katana that he picked up.

Once the demon had exerted itself enough to slow down its momentum, Zain took to the offensive and started swinging cold and calculated strikes towards the demon. He kept up the pressure until he had backed the beast up to Sophia.

Upon seeing the demon going to attack Zain, Sophia went and jabbed at the demon with her glaive. It landed on the mark she had set in her mind, right between the wings with the piercing into the demon's chest area.

"Clang…."

The axe fell to the ground making noise against the cobblestone floor. Nothing else was heard as this took place.

Zain put away his katana while Sophia slid the demon's body off her glaive.

Damascus was still shocked by how deep Zain had been making the sword go into the demon's torso.

Zain's father was being overbearing to his mother who had almost fallen to the floor when she came to retrieve her daggers while stealing a glance at Sophia who was still admiring Zain without saying anything.

Zain quickly started looking for the door, but Damascus found it first and looked and him and smirked before speaking. "Are we all ready to go?" as he pushed it open.
