Chapter 30: Entering the Strange

(PS: I'm really sorry; I had planned to write at least 6,000 words today to update with two chapters, but from waking up at noon until now, I've been at the computer desk for nearly ten hours, mostly drawing a blank, coughing from time to time, and only managed to write a little over 4,600 words...)

Covert reconnaissance.

It was indeed one of the suggestions proposed by the General Staff.

But executing it would prove extremely difficult.

The most critical reason was that human technology was not yet advanced enough to infiltrate those nine planets with supreme stealth. They could either send small reconnaissance crafts or unmanned drones, or make a big show of dispatching battleships and transport vessels; it was impossible for humans to rapidly travel from the edge of the star system to the habitable zone using personal flight gear.
