Chapter 12: Lost

(PS: Just one chapter. I have revised this chapter several times and am now satisfied with it.)

"...no intelligent life exists."

Lu Yuanming's second exploration could not be said to have failed, but it differed greatly from the anticipated success.

He did indeed find traces of civilization through the hollow passage.

It was a flat circular hollow, about ten meters in height but at least fifty thousand meters in length and width. According to the scientists' calculations, this was an artificial hollow. Its height was reduced to extend the space horizontally and vertically, and the circular shape allowed for the maximum preservation of area, thus creating a flat circular hollow.

In this hollow were filled with multi-tiered buildings connected to the top, which were either residential buildings or functional buildings such as plantations and the like.
