Chapter 16: Siege

(PS: I'm not feeling too spirited today, just one update.)

At dinner, Lu Yuanming saw a stranger sitting beside Zhang Xiaoting, bearing a slight resemblance to her. From this, he had a good idea who it might be—the visitor was likely from the Zhang Family Marquis Mansion, and possibly even a blood relative of Zhang Xiaoting's.

He smiled and nodded to the refined-looking man, then directly took his seat at the table, looking at the feast before him and said, "Cai Hua's culinary skills have been getting better and better lately."

Zhang Xiaoting snorted with laughter, looking at an embarrassed Ling Caihua, "Sister Cai Hua oversees the secretarial department and is very busy every day. The dishes are made by a specialized chef trained by that port warlord. He has been working peacefully here for over a month now, and because he has parents, a wife, and a daughter, he was deemed trustworthy by the Secret Agents department. He is now our head chef."
