Chapter 575 Daily Life

In the bright sunlight beneath the artificial sun, an AI floated mid-air in the glass dome zoo, eagerly pitching its products.

"Dear audience friends! Dear audience friends! Would you like to own a panda? To promote biodiversity on Earth, our facility now offers an 'animal home delivery service.' Just pay the fee, and a panda cub, which won't ever grow, will accompany you for a lifetime!"

As the animal's introduction played and the delightful image of the panda appeared on screen, AA felt her heart stir, particularly when she saw the offer for a free specialized mechanical prosthetic body for pets purchased now; it genuinely touched her heart.

However, upon seeing the steep price, she hesitated. Although she was quite wealthy now due to her high status, her old habits of scavenging had not left her, and her past impoverished experiences had made her very meticulous about expenses.

Eventually, after some thought, AA decided not to buy. She planned to make some herself using spare parts, as her storeroom was overflowing due to the recent end of the war.

Plus, she was confident in her skills; the pandas she could create would definitely be more powerful than those purchased here.

Leaving the zoo, they walked into the nearby park, a welfare area built by the Metropolitan Federation. The green forest, once exclusive to the Holy Grail, now appeared in the center of the Metropolis, covered under a huge transparent dome for the choice of all the city's residents.

AA and her companion strolled among the flowers and trees, taking in everything around them. Besides the trees, there were also tombstones—those of their own people who had died before dawn, serving as a place for everyone to mourn.

To AA's left stood a statue, a sculpture of Sun Jack clad in battle armor.

In fact, as a leader, statues and portraits of Sun Jack were everywhere, and there had even emerged a cult of fervent fans worshipping him in many city districts.

However, they hadn't walked far when suddenly, a thud of the sculpture hitting the ground came from behind them. When AA and her companion turned around, they saw a massive hovering construction machine flashing yellow caution lights, slicing Sun Jack's sculpture into several pieces to take away.

Upon seeing this, AA rushed over in a panic, tilting her head upward angrily and shouting at the operator in the machine, "Hey! What are you doing! Why are you removing the Boss's sculpture?!"

As she expressed her frustration, a huge exoskeleton armor, firing jets of flame, flew in from afar and landed securely behind AA, ready to be controlled by her.

But the person dismantling the sculpture seemed already accustomed to being questioned, silently sending AA a document.

"Stop asking; how many times do you need to ask? I've told you, this was a directive from Sun Jack himself; I'm just doing my job."

Looking at the electronic contract, AA appeared skeptical but confirmed its validity through Tapai after a while, realizing the man spoke the truth.

"Sun Jack forbids any form of personal idolatry, he even stated that no tombs or coffins should be left for himself or any clones after his death," Tapai relayed the man's words.

"Why would the Boss do this?" Faced with this scene, AA seemed surprised. "Isn't it good to let everyone worship him? Why forbid it?"

Tapai shrugged, "Maybe he's just a socially anxious little dumbass."

"It's fine if it's what the Boss said. Tapai, Tapai, how have you been?" Meeting someone familiar, AA immediately struck up a conversation.

"Not bad, now I'm working as his secretary, doing everything for him except what I can't do. Since the workload is almost the same, I don't really care."

While they were chatting casually, a hover car bearing the BCPD insignia sped past above them, a figure in a blue uniform hanging from the side of the car with one hand, his Artificial Eye swiftly locking onto his target.

"Command center! Target located, heading towards Puxi District! Initiating arrest procedure 9491, surveillance activated." As soon as he finished speaking, he let go and plummeted downwards,

just before hitting the ground, blue flames shot out, propelling him towards the fleeing criminal.

Suddenly, several shells were fired his way, but the dogthing didn't even flinch; amidst explosions, his blue uniform was torn to reveal the nanotech armor underneath.

Armed to the teeth, he charged forward and easily took down the murderers attempting to escape to another city.

Having effortlessly completed his task for the day, godthing drove leisurely home. With the war against the FFP over, there was no longer a need for so many combat troops.

Thus, most of the Resistance Army and Wild Men had retrained, allocated to different jobs according to their skills and desires. He had become a BCPD detective, tasked with maintaining stability in Metropolis.

Before returning home, he ordered food online, and as he arrived, a cooking robot had already prepared various dishes and served them on the table.

The apartment wasn't large, a 60 square meter space on the 125th floor he shared with his sister, which made it cheaper for the two of them.

Though small, the home was cozy, the walls painted yellow, giving the illusion of perpetual sunset.

"Nina, Nina, dinner's ready." Upon returning home, godthing went to the bedroom, opened the Game Pod, and called his sister who was immersed in the virtual world.

"Ah, so annoying, it's all your fault! I was about to figure out the pattern of this island," Nina complained, climbing out of the Game Pod.

godthing smiled, knowing his sister loved OR games but previously couldn't afford one. Now, however, his monthly salary was enough to buy the game pod in front of them, and Nina could finally play to her heart's content.

Lazily, Nina walked to the dining table in her slippers, grabbed a slice of pineapple and tuna pizza, and took a big bite. The sweet, sour, salty explosion of flavors danced in her mouth. "How was work today? All smooth?"

"Pretty smooth, we nabbed some fugitives from other cities causing trouble in Queens District, they still think it's a slum. Little did they know, every district nowadays has cameras and patrol robots installed."

As he continued to speak, he noticed his sister looking at him with curiosity. "Is that all? Why not talk about that partner named Plastic? Did you guys hook up?"

Hearing this, dogthing looked at his sister with annoyance, "Messing with my neural system again, checking my surveillance? Why are you so nosy? If I report you, you could be in jail for a few days."

"Ah, I promise I won't do it again. Come on, tell me, how is that plastic girl?"

"She's pretty simple, used to be one of the Wild Men, and there's nothing between us. She's in a bit of an exploratory phase now, trying out different sexual preferences to find what suits her."

"But I've heard that on the night of our victory celebration, she ended up with Sun Jack just like you."
