Chapter 585: The Highest Command

Hearing what Tapai had said, Sun Jack just shook his head, "Utopia has no local tyrant, and I'm certainly not the new generation's 'Lan Meng.' I don't need any 'Emperor Technique,' and I don't need any black gloves either."

"I, Sun Jack, take responsibility for my own actions. No matter what hate or disappointment others may feel, I bear it all alone. Having experienced everything on this journey, do you think I'd still be afraid of that?"

"If you really want to help me, keep a closer eye on the network, and don't let the same thing happen again."

Seeing that his suggestion was not accepted by Sun Jack, Tapai could only helplessly shake his head. "Alright then, but according to my calculations, someone will definitely try to reach out again. After all, the temptation of immortality is just too great."

"Whoever dares to reach out, I'll chop off their hand, no matter whose hand it is," Sun Jack said, as he directly connected to the Sun Jack Channel and Think Tank through the network, sending up all of today's records.

As soon as Sun Jack began to speak, all the Sun Jacks within the city stopped their work.

"Gentlemen, the situation is as it stands. Let's work hard to start improving the system step by step. Abu was right; I know Sun Jack is also human, we too can become corrupted."

"I don't know how long we can hold out, so let's try to establish a complete system before our thoughts decay."

"Then let this system be gradually perfected in the hands of the next generation, eventually forming the true Utopia of our dreams."

At that day's meeting, Sun Jack only presented a rough idea, but soon, with the assistance of various professionals and intelligent AIs, the system to counteract capital corruption began to take shape.

And with that, the matter came to an end for the time being.

Having resolved the internal issues, Sun Jack turned his attention back to the outside, where TT and DF23 were still fiercely battling it out.

The rot of capitalism needed time to heal, but these groups, if they went too far, could end up flipping the Earth upside down.

Taking advantage of all the spies he had sent out, Sun Jack directly contacted the Overlapping AI at the Moon Ring Space Station.

"Have they approached you?" Sun Jack asked bluntly.

"Yes."

"And what was your response?"

"What does that have to do with you?" the Overlapping AI asked emotionlessly, hovering in midair.

"I think it does, because I'm afraid they promised you things in exchange for victory that they can't deliver on. Whether or not I agree with your intervention, I'm sure Three Quarters definitely won't agree."

"Are you threatening me?" the Overlapping AI's eyebrows tightened slightly.

"I'm not threatening you; I am merely negotiating with you. Times of peace are hard to come by, and you have a place to stay without the fear of living day by day. I hope you can cherish that."

"In fact, Three Quarters originally planned to deal with you, but I stopped them. I'm not saying this to get your gratitude; I just think that even if our positions differ, there are things we can sit down and discuss," Sun Jack said in a very conciliatory tone to the AI representative.

Enjoying this rare tranquility, he didn't want to fall back into the fires of war for any reason, especially since it wasn't his business.

"We want to have human rights," the AI repeated its earlier statement, prompting Sun Jack to scratch his head without words.

After thinking for a while, Sun Jack came up with a way to fob him off. "Didn't I say before that once I was successful, I'd be willing to sit down and have a proper talk with you? How about this? As long as you don't get involved with those two groups, I'm willing to help you get in touch with Three Quarters and let you sit down and have a proper talk."

"I think Three Quarters actually seems quite amiable. I'm very close with them, and maybe you can negotiate successfully and change your predicament of being hunted in Cyber Space. Give it a try, it doesn't cost anything."

After protracted negotiations, the Overlapping AI finally agreed to Sun Jack's terms, and Sun Jack turned his head to contact Three Quarters once again.

"I'm particularly familiar with the AIs, and you might just negotiate a victory, completely solving the millennium-old problem, so give it a shot—it won't cost you a thing."

Sun Jack didn't care about how the negotiations between the AI and Three Quarters would go; at least during this period, the Awakened AIs probably wouldn't be able to lend a hand and fan the flames of the war between TT and DF23.

As time passed day by day, Sun Jack found that his method seemed to be effective, as for now, within the higher echelons of the Utopia Federation, no one had overstepped their bounds.

No one dared to provoke the matters clearly written upon Sun Jack's neural system.

In Metropolis, amidst a constant drizzle, Sun Jack strolled through the acidic rain on Shendong Street outside a broken-down car, watching the standardized advertisements around him as well as the crowds and vehicles on the street.

Somewhere along the way, he had picked up a hobby—He liked to shut off all communications and his prosthetic body, to walk on the streets alone, immersing himself in the hustle and bustle of everything around.

Weaving through the crowd, feeling drones and hover cars flying over his head, he felt as if he had returned to the days when he had first arrived.

But the current Metropolis was completely different from the Metropolis of the past.

Every district of Metropolis had been re-planned, and under the strong crackdown by BCPD, the crime rates in Metropolis had continually declined.

Although Metropolis remained as magical as ever, at least there were no gang shootouts on the streets, nor flying people in the skies.

Moreover, with the enforcement of legislation restricting prosthetic body installations, the number of cyberpsychoses had also rapidly decreased.

As crime rates fell, happiness indices climbed steadily. Sun Jack's efforts played a role, but more importantly, living a peaceful and harmonious life, seeing others struggle miserably amidst war, a sense of happiness naturally emerged.

Sun Jack approached a vendor's stand, scanning the floating QR code, "Four beef pastry puffs and a coffee, please."

"Right away, please wait." The cooking robot inside the stall whirred into action, rapidly preparing Sun Jack's food.

While waiting, Sun Jack looked around, observing each person's face.

No matter the process, at last, he saw smiles on other people's faces and even occasional kindness. The lower class no longer had to oppress and betray each other for a bite to eat; kindness was no longer a luxury exclusive to Holy Grail Persons.

"Sir, your breakfast is ready." Sun Jack took his food, eating his pastry puffs and drinking his coffee as he continued to walk forward.

Seeing all this, Sun Jack deeply felt that everything he had done was worth it. He had not betrayed the sacrifice of those who had died because of him.

When Sun Jack had finished eating the four pastry puffs, he saw some suit-clad office workers making their way towards a nearby building.

He could see that even the pallor on the faces of these office drones had improved considerably, as the current regulations limited the workday to 7 hours, and the use of various work boosters was prohibited.

"It should have always been this way; it's ridiculous to pop pills to work. If efficiency isn't sufficient, then hire more people, and besides, this also helps to increase the city's employment rate," Sun Jack thought, watching the crowd entering and exiting the distant building.

Just as he was pondering over these things and ready to pop the last puff into his mouth, whoosh—a shell suddenly flew into the building before his eyes.

Accompanied by an extremely strong shockwave and explosion, the entire building of over a hundred stories was instantly turned into a sea of flames.

Along with the sound of sirens, BCPD drones and hover cars, flashing blue lights, completely surrounded the fiery expanse.

The next second, a voice filled with authority and righteousness echoed above Sun Jack's head.

"Suspected research into cellular telomere repair technology! According to the highest directive from the great leader Sun Jack! Any form of immortality technology development is to be utterly eradicated without exception!!"
