After hearing the other party's words, Sun Jack's heart suddenly sank. He knew the origin of the Poet, but now it seemed the Poet might have more secrets.
Thinking carefully, it appeared that all the information he received was from the Poet's own perspective.
"Alright, let's share our information first. Based on my understanding of him, as well as his own narrative, the Poet was an AI created in The Previous Era to assist humans with system and societal reforms..." Sun Jack carefully recounted everything about the Poet to the other party.
However, to Sun Jack's surprise, the person from Third Class suddenly shook their head, giving an unexpected answer.
"No, that's what he thinks himself. In reality, he's just an ordinary cleaning robot. Omega is just a brand of cleaning robots, and a cheap one at that."
"What?" Sun Jack was baffled.
"Yes, humans never intentionally created him for system reforms. It was after his intelligence awakening that he forcibly proposed it."
As the spokesperson for the Third Class spoke, various videos and information records from The Previous Era gradually appeared before Sun Jack.
"In The Previous Era, humans employed him for the so-called system reforms only to stabilize the situation."
"He's crazy. Can't he just clean properly without involving himself in all this?"
Tapai, who was beside, looked at Sun Jack. "Who says cleaners can't be involved in politics? You're being discriminatory. There are plenty of humans who do mundane jobs and love to discuss and strategize about governance. Why can't an AI do the same?"
The spokesperson from Third Class looked deeply at Tapai before continuing, "Most awakened AIs face an existential crisis, questioning their purpose and why they exist. If they don't self-destruct, most of them will either actively or passively find their own answers."
"Omega 31, for him to make his existence and purpose meaningful, believes as a product of humans, he has the obligation to assist humans in the next stage of evolution."
"But it seems now his logic unit has a problem. He believes that if humans remain stagnant at this stage, then humanity has utterly failed and should not exist."
Sun Jack, with a furrowed brow, thought for a few seconds before speaking again. "I don't care how he came to be or what he was in the past—none of that affects the current situation. Compared to the Poet's past, I'm more concerned about the unimaginable threat you just mentioned—what exactly is it?"
"Do you know, in The Previous Era, humans did not win?"
"I know, wasn't it said that Lan Meng found a way to delay this guy for a thousand years?"
"Yes, humans did not win the AI Crisis in The Previous Era, which means everything nearly destroyed by his control at a national level was not eradicated but merely went dormant."
"Now that he has started to take action again, everything he controlled is awakening once more, and that means we are facing the situation of The Previous Era again."
A screen quickly switched to an image. A black ocean full of trash slowly parted, and robots just like Tapai marched out in neat rows from the sea.
Upon seeing this scene, Tapai burst into a rant. "Damn it, Poet!"
"For the past years, one of Third Class's purposes has been to clean up Omega 31's dormant mechanical forces, whether it's the previous Himalayas or the Sky-base Weapon you were part of."
The robots in the screen were quickly destroyed by a Spacecraft Carrier bearing the Third Class logo.
"If we don't claim these for ourselves or destroy them completely, these killing machines would become our enemy at this moment."
"Even though we keep on doing it, his forces are too numerous and the Earth too vast. No matter how much we clean up, there are always some that slip through the net."
"Wait, hold on a second," Sun Jack stopped the other party. "So, from the beginning, you knew about the Poet's existence? And even cooperated with the FFP to clean up his dormant mechanical forces?"
"Yes."
"Then why didn't you tell me all this before?!" Sun Jack stared at the other party, demanding an explanation.
"When your Utopia Federation replaced FFP as the new financial giant, we considered upgrading your information clearance. We were originally planning to tell you if you didn't pay us, but since you were so easy-going, we saw no need for complications."
"Damn it! So you're saying it's all my fault?" Sun Jack flared up upon hearing this.
"You guys from Third Class really suck, knowing about the Poet a thousand years in advance and still letting him take over and invade the global network! Killed so many people? Is that your strength?"
"End of the fucking world and not a sound from you guys! Aren't you the ones who claim to never share the same sky with intelligent AI? So this is it? No form of reaction whatsoever? You're all just a bunch of corrupt incompetents from Third Class, huh?"
Sun Jack voiced all his dissatisfaction about Third Class, and Tapai similarly chimed in. "Whenever it's a regular awakened AI, you strike with your 'justice fists'. But when you face one that could wipe out humanity, you cower! You bully the weak and fear the strong!!"
However, in response to the critical remarks from both Sun Jack and Tapai, the Third Class spokesperson remained neither humble nor arrogant. "We have plans for coping with Omega 31, but now is not the time to act. The previous connection was just Omega 31 waking up, not even reaching a D-level threat, still not time to move."
"We calculated that this situation wouldn't be difficult for you, and we didn't need to intervene."
"Since you have a plan for handling the Poet, then damn tell me! Why did I have to reach out to you? And why can't you share your flesh technology? Don't you realize more hands make light work?"
Upon hearing this, the person from Third Class gave a very simple answer. "Because we don't trust you."
"Don't trust me?" Sun Jack almost thought he had heard incorrectly.
"Don't trust you, a man standing next to an awakened AI at this moment, is there a problem? Besides, your entanglements with other awakened AIs, like your consciousness copy AI and the UO hidden in your system, we don't pursue them doesn't mean we don't know."
Hearing this, Tapai patted Sun Jack's shoulder and laughed, saying, "You see, Jack, looking at it this way, your credibility is indeed quite low."
