When he heard this, Tapai looked back at Xiao Ting with suspicion, "You actually care about me so much? That's not your style."
Xiao Ting spread her hands helplessly and said, "What can I do since I'm a sucker for looks? When I used to delete memories, I would charge customers less if their facial armor looked nice. Where did you buy your facial features data? It's really exceptional, send me a copy of the data, will you?"
"Nope, speaking of which, are you going to help or not?" Tapai, holding his brain that was emitting white smoke, turned to Xiao Ting and asked.
Xiao Ting walked over, took the brain from him, put it into the device next to them, and began to reactivate it, searching for the previous error.
After thinking about it, she still couldn't help but remind him, "Sun Jack is a very tricky guy. Don't get attracted to him while you're by his side. Even if he's your enemy, you'll find yourself feeling differently about him without realizing it. This guy is like a succubus, you'll give everything for him."
Hearing this, Tapai turned his head and looked at her strangely, "So... you?"
Xiao Ting proudly pointed to her head. "What a joke, do you think I'd let that bastard Sun Jack take advantage of me? The moment I noticed something was off, I didn't hesitate to open up my own head and forcibly severed the area of the brain that controlled that aspect. I call the shots on my dopamine secretion."
"Damn it, business is business, who the fuck would want to give me a discount out of sentiment? Absolutely not!" she said through clenched teeth at the end.
Tapai stretched out his hand and gave Xiao Ting a thumbs up. "Badass, you really know how to live."
"Average, average," Xiao Ting said with pride.
"So are you going to help me or not? This is your area of expertise, right?"
"Here I come, but you haven't answered my question yet."
While Tapai was busy, Sun Jack was also busy installing all of his combat prostheses.
Magnetic field protection shields, hand cannons, laser blades, laser generators; one by one, the purely mechanical prostheses developed by the Logistics Department were installed onto Sun Jack's body. The previous situation had been a close call for him; he was nearly beheaded by the Poet.
To avoid the same situation from happening again, Sun Jack had decided that, unless they were broken and needed to be replaced, he would take these prostheses to the grave with him.
As all his combat prostheses were reinstalled, he was back to his peak form, ready for battle at any moment.
"Stop for a moment, where's your main body, how's the nuclear bomb coming along? That's our most important issue right now," Sun Jack grabbed the two AAs installing the prostheses and asked.
He was still more concerned about the progress of the nuclear bomb. He didn't have much he could do for now; it seemed the only way to threaten the opposition was with such measures.
"She should be by the reactor." Upon hearing this, Sun Jack stood up and walked toward the direction she mentioned.
When he arrived beside the nuclear fusion reactor, he saw AA looking distressed, staring at the screen in front of her and typing on the keyboard.
"How goes it? Looking at your face, it seems you haven't figured it out? Is a nuclear bomb capable of destroying the entire Earth tough to make?" Sun Jack approached, reaching out to pat her head.
"Boss, we don't have enough energy mines to begin with, and even if we excavated all the isotopes from Earth, we couldn't make a bomb powerful enough to destroy the planet."
"Then how did the Moon explode? Show some spirit as the Logistics Department Minister, weren't you the best at making bombs in the past?"
"How would I know? I'm not from the Previous Era, and besides, this time it's completely different from the other times," AA said painfully, holding her head.
Sun Jack held AA's face solemnly and said, "AA, keep your spirits up, don't be discouraged; if we can't manage, we'll think of a solution together. But right now, we really need some sort of Earth-threatening weapon to intimidate the Poet. Only with that, can we humans remain in an undefeatable position."
The two of them stared at each other for a while before AA, her lips pursed by Sun Jack's hands, spoke up, "Boss, what did you just say? Don't we absolutely need a nuclear bomb? So any weapon that can destroy the Earth will do?"
"Right, any Earth-threatening weapon will do. It doesn't matter what the weapon is, as long as we have something in our hands that can truly threaten the Earth, then the Poet won't dare to challenge us."
"That's the case then... let me think about it." After saying that, AA began to scribble on a piece of paper, and from time to time, new AAs joined to help out.
It seemed AA had thought of a way to destroy the Earth other than a nuclear bomb.
Half an hour later, Sun Jack was squeezed out of the room by a houseful of AAs, who were chattering rapidly discussing something, while Sun Jack couldn't understand at all.
But seeing them like this, it seemed they had found a solution, which eased Sun Jack a bit.
There he was, outside the door, smoking and waiting. Perhaps because he was in a comfortable place, Sun Jack found himself drifting off to sleep without realizing it.
When he woke up, he found himself covered with a soft beige blanket, clearly with AA's scent on it.
When Sun Jack turned his head, he saw that the room full of AAs had disappeared. Seeing this, he immediately perked up.
He hurriedly stood up and walked inside, but to his surprise, only one AA was there maintaining the nuclear fusion.
"Boss, are you looking for them? They've gone to the experimental platform."
"I am? Doing experiments in Metropolis that can destroy the Earth?!" Hearing this, Sun Jack's scalp tingled, and he hurriedly rushed over.
However, he saw no sign of an explosion at the so-called experimental platform.
"Boss, don't come any closer, it's dangerous!" an AA wearing goggles inside the experimental platform shouted.
Hearing this, Sun Jack immediately stopped and shouted loudly at them, "What exactly are you experimenting with?"
"Just wait, we're still experimenting, go outside for now." Driven by AA's prompting, the puzzled Sun Jack went outside to wait.
Thick protective walls rose up, sealing off the entire experimental platform, impenetrable even to artificial eyes.
"What on Earth is AA up to?" Sun Jack lit a cigarette, puzzled.
At that moment, he suddenly saw Tapai, his mouth clenched with a cigarette, running towards him from a distance. "Jack! It's bad! Something big has happened!"
"What?" Before Tapai arrived, Sun Jack's system received a video.
He opened it and found that it was from the perspective of a Utopia Expedition Army clone.
