The Depths And Determination

"RAAAH!!" Gunne charges at Tyr who held a long stick in his hand. The stick was around six feet in length akin to a staff or a spear. As the knight recklessly rushed at Tyr, the staff moves forward and jabs into Gunne's stomach. The spirit spits up from the force and gets smacked in the chin by the stick. He falls on his back and Tyr points the end of the stick at Gunne.

"You just died twice." Tyr relaxed the stick on his shoulder. "A swordsman normally would lose to a spearman because of the reach a spear has. So you can't just barge right at them and expect to land a hit."

"Ugh.....then what should I do?" He slowly stands back up.

"I can't give you all the answers. I can only tell you the formula. The range is the problem. But maneuver a spear is a lot harder than a sword because of the balance behind it. So what should you do?" Tyr gets into an offensive position.

We head back to the present with Gunne facing off against two soldiers. Gunne rushes at one soldier by taking a long step forward. (Fool, reaching my being is akin to sketching still air. I'll kill you before you reach me!!) The Stormveil Knight bites the bait, jabbing his spear at Gunne's abdomen. Gunne stops himself and redirects the positioning of his blade before the spear started moving.

He memorized the solution he proposed to Tyr. (If I rid them of their reach, my attack should land correct?) He closed the distance further by leaning toward them. The spear races at Gunne.

Tyr in the past asks Gunne. "And how will you do that? Think about your answer before deciding."

Gunne remembers his response. (I should cause a defect within their equilibrium. A parry should create such affect.) As this thought formed, his sword raises up and collides with the spear from below. With the rising force, the sword redirects the attack angle of the knight's spear.

(That's one step. But that's too shallow.) Gunne's sword has its position shifted again. As he goes for a swing THUNK!! His sword is met with a Greatshield.

(While that solves one of the problems. That doesn't get you around their shield.) Said Tyr in the past. Meanwhile, the second guard was wrapped up in tentacles. "Gah!! Let me go!!" The Jellyfish threw the knight at the ground. The Jellyfish is a very strong starter spirit. Without any upgrades or special training, it can be used in the fight against Morgott. It throwing the knight caused their spine to crack.

"You traitor!!" The knight pushes Gunne back using his Greatshield. "Not even death shall do a knight's service part!!" The spear strikes again. Gunne was restricted to not use his shield during until Tyr gives him permission.

"Blasphemous..." He slashes the spear to the side, redirecting it away from him.

"What?" He retracts his arm back and props the shield in front. Gunne slashes the shield yet again, causing the the soldier to stumble back.

"Why shall I due service for a king kept in solitude?" Gunne places more force on the shield than last time, adding more strikes to it again and again.

"We are knights!!" Using the force of one of Gunne's strikes, the Greatshield repels the force to the side and the knight counters using his spear. It retracts backwards and charges at Gunne's chest. "WE DO NOT ROUND OUR SELVES ABOUT THE KING'S ACTIVITIES!!"

Gunne uses the flat side of the blade to block the attack which makes him glide back.

The spear retreats to the Knight's side again, this time aimed for Gunne's face, it pierced through the air with the intent to stabb through Gunne's skull. Gunne narrowly dodged, slipping to the right and causing his ear to split. "Ugh.."

"How does one refer to himself as thy king's loyal servant yet betray his majesty for a mere TARNISHED!!!" The knight was riled up. The barrage of thrust attacks from his put Gunne on a back burner.

"I refuse..." His sword is positioned at a different angle. Gunne's foot rose up and plants on the Greatshield. Pressure is followed by Gunne's foot. the knight is pushed back by Gunne's force. "Subjecting my existence to a being that cares not of my being. Not of my companions being, this nation's people!! I REFUSE!!!"

"We are knights. Servitude and loyalty is our path. Not judgement." The knight said.

He sends thrust of his spear at Gunne. Gunne moves his foot to the right. With a shift of his foot, he twists his body, avoiding the spear and moving to the right. With a swing over his arm, Gunne slices the head of the knight clean off. As their head rolls, Gunne says "Thy role as a knight is corrupted. So thine knighthood is over."
