Chapter 18: "The Race Against Time"

With Y/N's consent, the lab team sprang into action. Dr. Kim and her team began collecting blood samples from Y/N, while Captain Lewis coordinated with the military to gather resources and personnel.

Taehyung refused to leave Y/N's side, watching anxiously as she lay weak but determined on the table. "We'll get through this, Y/N," he whispered, his voice filled with conviction.

As the hours ticked by, the lab became a flurry of activity. Scientists worked tirelessly to develop the vaccine, while soldiers stood guard outside, ready to defend against any zombie threats.

But time was running out. The zombie horde was closing in on the lab, their moans and groans growing louder by the minute.

"We need to work faster!" Dr. Kim urged her team, her eyes fixed on the clock. "We're running out of time! We need to test the vaccine and get it into production before it's too late!"

The team worked feverishly, their faces set with determination. Taehyung's eyes never left Y/N's face, his heart pounding with anxiety.

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from outside the lab, followed by the sound of groaning and shuffling feet.

"They're here," Captain Lewis growled, his hand on his gun. "Let's move, people! We need to get that vaccine ready, now!"

The team's pace quickened, their movements becoming more frantic as the zombies closed in. Dr. Kim's voice rang out above the chaos. "Yes! Yes! It's working! The vaccine is showing positive results!"

Taehyung's heart soared as Y/N's eyes flickered open, a hint of strength returning to her voice. "Taehyung... it's going to be okay..."

But just as hope seemed within reach, the lab door burst open and a horde of zombies stumbled in, their eyes fixed on Y/N.

"NO!" Taehyung screamed, lunging forward to protect her.

Just in time, a team of military officers burst into the lab, weapons blazing. "Clear the room!" one of them shouted, taking down zombies with precision shots.

"Get Y/N to safety!" Captain Lewis yelled, grabbing Taehyung and Y/N and pulling them towards the exit.

The lab erupted into chaos, the sound of gunfire and groaning zombies filling the air. Taehyung's heart raced as they fought their way out...
