Part 74: Unexpected Attack

We were at the harbor, our soldiers having successfully repaired the boat. We were on the verge of departing when the sudden crack of gunfire shattered the air. Instantly alert, we dashed outside to investigate. What we saw left us stunned: an army of soldiers stood before us, seemingly materialized from the shadows.

Captain Lee, initially assuming they might mistake us for enemies, stepped forward. “Hello, friends, I am Captain Lee,” he called out, his voice strong and authoritative. But the soldiers didn’t respond. They remained motionless, staring at us with an unsettling intensity, their eyes burning with a strange, hostile light.

“We used your place and boat,” Captain Lee tried again, hoping to clarify our intentions. Yet the soldiers remained eerily silent, their gazes now fixated particularly on Sarah and Mother Miranda. The tension in the air was palpable, and we all instinctively readied our weapons.
