Fighting the Goblins.

I continued exploring the dungeon;

Ron's mist didn't obstruct allies' vision, wich allowing me to see clearly.

Wallking more , I saw another group: four goblins similar to before, small, wielding spears and axes. One in the center wore a small hood, holding a wooden staff with a bird's skull. Another was better armored, with a more resistant armor and a spear that glowed with a dark light, possibly enchanted.

I observed their status hidden in the mist behind a stalactite. Fortunately, seeing their names and levels wasn't an issue.

[Goblin (normal) lvl 13]

[Goblin (normal) lvl 13]

[Goblin (normal) lvl 14]

[Goblin (normal) lvl 15]

[Goblin warrior (Elite) lvl 15]

[Goblin mage (Elite) lvl 14]

Not only were two elites, but their names differed, indicating their skills might be superior. The four goblins protected the mage, while the warrior seemed to scout the environment.

I thought for a moment and devised a strategy.

“Ron, spread the mist and quickly attack the mage, using Poison Doppelganger to target the other four.”

An assassin should always target the mage or priest, which would be Ron's priority, moving stealthily within the mist.

“Water, when the time is right, activate the water wall to separate the others.”

‘Understood,’ both responded quickly.

I moved slowly towards the warrior, confident in my fighting abilities and speed. Even if I didn’t kill, it should be enough for Ron to take down the mage. We acted.

Ron let out a low meow, gathering venom with his mana, forming a reddish copy in front of him before dissolving and moving silently. He appeared behind the goblin mage, biting its neck with potent venom.

“Ackkkk!!!”

The others were surprised and began to act, but the rest was in battle.

The Poison Doppelganger quickly approached the four, slashing them with venomous claws. Aqua above the battlefield gathered water and spat a large jet, forming a water wall that restricted their movements. Meanwhile, the warrior moved quickly to aid the goblin mage.

“Impact”

I accelerated with the Skill, charging with a sword imbued with water elemental energy. However, a dark energy spear blocked my sword, the elemental water energy clashing against the dark energy.

“Well… it was possible…”

Using my superior speed and jumping ability, I leaped over him, slashing his back.

“Huk!”

He seemed irritated, continuing to defend, but managed to hit me despite my speed, as dark energy had strong offensive power and subtlety.

As we fought, I finally heard the awaited sound: the mage died.

[Ron killed the Goblin Mage (Elite); you and your Soulbound gained XP]

I glanced aside while retreating; the Doppelganger had exploded, causing significant damage and poisoning them. With Aqua’s help, one goblin had died, and another was near death. The water wall was nearly broken due to the other three's damage.

Ron disappeared into the mist, and the remaining three goblins, lacking a target, rushed towards me, the warrior following. I retreated slightly, preparing another Skill. A sword surrounded by my mana's water stayed by my right side.

“Circle of Cuts”

The sword moved swiftly, making quick cuts around me, with water elements aiding in defense, increasing damage, and slightly restricting movements. It slashed the three goblins, helping kill one, while the warrior defended well.

Unnoticed by them, the mist around us turned a more intense red, and the poisoning increasingly affected their movements. When the circle ended, and they tried to move, sharp claws pierced one, and water whips attacked another from above.

The warrior, sensing growing danger, gripped his spear, now enveloped in denser dark light. He moved before I could react, forcing me to use most of my mana to shield my sword with water. I was pushed back, taking a hard hit.

But luckily, Aqua and Ron managed to eliminate the others. I quickly drank an HP potion, telling Aqua, “Aqua, healing bubbles for me and Ron.”

Small water bubbles enveloped our bodies, relieving and helping recover HP, MP, and fatigue.

The warrior, noticing something, moved, but Ron let out a loud meow.

Meow!!!

With it, the venomous mist around the goblin thickened, trapping him.

“It should last a while.”

When he broke free, Ron and I were rested and recovered. I sent Aqua to rest, moving quickly while Ron dissolved and hid. The goblin warrior spun his spear with dark energy, seemingly detecting Ron's potential damage. Despite lessened damage due to lacking physical impact, the dark magic would still harm Ron. Seeing an opening…

“Impact”

This time, due to his exhaustion and constant poisoning, he failed to defend, getting pushed back forcefully. Ron appeared behind him, embedding his claws into his back, killing him soon after.

I collected useful loot, especially from the warrior.

[Wooden staff from goblin mage (Normal)]

[Darkness spear from goblin (Unique)]

“Although the spear isn't very useful for me, it seems uncommon and should sell well at the auction house. I prefer selling there for ease.”

I sat to rest, eating with Ron and Aqua, and took out a book to read.
