I went to a medium-sized city within the Kingdom of Violan, and more specifically, I sought out a place called the Adventurers' Guild, which I had heard about while traveling. Essentially, it's an organization located in various places around the world that handles tasks and duties. Members are classified based on the number of missions they complete, with different benefits associated with each rank. As the rank increases, it becomes easier to enter cities or countries, often without having to pay fees, especially when entering cities.
I found it interesting because it's a source of information and reputation not tied to a specific location. I plan to register not only to facilitate these processes but also to reach level 20 since I am eager to use the scroll and try to change to a different race.
Anyway, I entered a rather nice-looking wooden building, and inside, there were several dining tables with numerous individuals eating and drinking in a somewhat rough manner.
On one side, there was what looked like a restaurant and bar, and a bit further ahead, separated by some pillars, there were various reception desks.
I was still wearing my mask, but this time it was a cat mask, and I approached a receptionist with cat ears.
"Hello, can I know how to register?"
"Good morning, do you want to become an adventurer? First time?"
"Yes."
"Well, you just need to pay the entrance fee and register your mana in the symbol I will give you. Do you know about the rankings and how it works, or would you like to hear about it?"
"Well, if you could explain, it would help."
"Sure!"
She responded with a smile on her face, very kindly.
"Well, individuals are classified into Copper, Bronze, Iron, Gold, and Diamond ranks. To advance, you need to successfully complete a certain number of missions and meet certain strength requirements, among other things, but regardless of strength, everyone starts at the Copper level. Any questions?"
"No."
"Alright, register here."
She took out an orb and asked me to fill in my name or what I want to be called and apply my mana to it.
I decided to keep the same name.
After I finished, she took what looked like a stone token and placed it above the orb. The token glowed with a light and turned a lighter brown color.
Then she handed it to me, and I observed its description.
------------------------
Copper Token
Registration: Alex.
Missions stored: None.
Description: A copper token belonging to a new adventurer named Alex. It allows free entry into cities within the registration kingdom of smaller and medium size, also valid in the central continent or nearby. In larger cities or certain locations, a discount is given instead of free entry.
------------------
"Well, Mr. Alex, would you like to see missions near the city or further away?"
"Ummmm, a nearby mission would be interesting."
"Ok, I'll get them in a moment."
She went inside and brought out several papers with lots of information, and I started to read through them slowly.
There were various missions, including some to capture beasts, collect plant or animal ingredients, protection missions, and several others.
I chose one to hunt bandits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Road Bandits
Objective: Go and find the group of bandits and eliminate them.
Recommended level: 20 to 25.
Time limit: 5 days.
Reward: 300 gold coins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure? It seems a dangerous level for your strength, especially if you're alone."
"Yes."
[Road Bandits mission accepted]
No problem, I have a great skill for discreet elimination and I'm good with humanoid individuals, and my status is considerably higher than theirs.
"Very well, let me borrow your token."
I handed it back to her, and she placed it in another magical tool that seemed to register the mission.
"When you return, bring it to an Adventurers' Guild headquarters."
"Understood."
I was on the road, riding my horse lightly while playing with Aqua and Ron.
By the way, the Ghost Horse is considerably more stable than a regular one I tried in another city.
When I stopped it.
"Stop here."
The last signs pointed out by the guild were around here.
I dismissed the summoning and started walking slowly with him through the forest.
"Ron, spread the normal mist."
'Understood, master.'
"Meow Meow."
He meowed twice, and a mist quickly spread, covering the environment. The forest had good humidity, which helped a lot.
"Well...it's time to find them..."
It took a while, but I found nine different bandits.
[Bandit lvl 22 (Normal)]
[Bandit lvl 21 (Normal)]
[Bandit lvl 21 (Normal)]
[Bandit Chief lvl 23 (Elite)]
They were all between levels 20, 21, and 22, and the elite chief was 23….
"They're a good number…"
I observed the environment and ordered Ron to help spread the mist, which spread very slowly, covering everything.
And I found what I wanted, meat and water.
"Ron, move secretly and apply as much poison as possible to the water and food."
'Ok.'
He transformed from my neck into a mist and started moving quickly.
It took a while to reach a level, but many were clearly in pain and taking damage, in addition to being affected by other poisons.
I discreetly approached a group of normal bandits in the denser mist area.
And with my sword…
"Circle of Cuts."
It moved and surprised them to the point where four couldn't react and took a lot of damage.
Taking advantage of the situation, a wall of water appeared from the sky and surrounded the bandit leader, restricting his movement, while Aqua focused on restricting his movements.
And used its new skill.
------------------------------
Water Whips
Rank: Unique
Effect: Create various water whips to restrict movement and cause damage.
Description: Strong and powerful whips.
-------------------------------
He could already do a little of this before without the skill, just using the water element, but now with the skill, it became much easier and the effect is more powerful.
Meanwhile, the other four were directly affected by "two Rons."
With assassin-like attacks, sharp claws, and fangs, and heavily venomous.
It took a while, but we managed to eliminate them.
[You reached level 20]
"Well, time to complete the guild mission and use this item…I'm very curious to see how it will be."
