Not Hard At All

"She will continue to ride on you if you don't take action soon, Sister," Jayden suddenly said.

Leila's lips curled up mischievously. "Don't worry, I will make sure to show her that riding in too much of a hurry can cause a fall."

He gave her a look that said, "I don't trust you," and then continued to bury his head in his meal, leaving Leila speechless.

Fine, she really had to do something about it then.

Jayden continued piling food onto her plate until she said she was full. Only then did they leave for their classes, with Jayden and his friends escorting them.

Jayden didn't forget to take advantage of her again by patting her head, and he smiled when she fumed at him.

Fredrick and Carter's views were successfully refreshed as they unlocked a new world they had never known existed until now.

As they walked back leisurely to their classroom, Carter remembered something and quickly turned to Jayden.

"Jay, are we still going to City Z during the weekend?"

With his hands in his pant pockets, a certain someone said coldly, "Go and get your sister to follow you."

Carter was confused.

Fredrick was speechless.

The stench of jealousy in the air was really unavoidable.

GRADE 10 CLASS 3

Julianne's classroom.

Eyes set on Julianne once she entered, and the moment they saw the person beside her, one of the female students couldn't help but ask.

"Madeline, why are you with her?"

"Yeah, haven't you heard what happened yesterday?"

The class quieted down immediately. Almost the whole school had heard about how a Grade 10 student had gone around trying to claim relations with the school's sexiest girl, Addy, and was brutally embarrassed.

Madeline, who was now Julianne's friend, retorted frankly, "Of course I did."

"Then... why?" The other students were slightly confused. After all, they were all in a hurry to cut ties with someone like Julianne who could potentially get them a bad reputation.

Madeline crossed her arms in front of her chest, her taller figure protectively hiding Julianne behind her, and she slowly dropped the bombshell.

"Did you know that Leila is Julianne's stepsister?"

"Wait, you mean..." The students were slightly confused but, most importantly, they were shocked by this revelation.

They didn't know the new school belle had a stepsister. In fact, they had just found out that the new school belle was Chief Faisal's biological daughter.

So this b*tch Julianne was Leila's sister?!

Their expressions changed greatly as they heard Madeline continue. "What happened yesterday was because your so-called school belle couldn't tolerate our Julianne and decided to make things difficult for her. Julianne is good enough to want to talk to her, yet can't you see how she was embarrassed?!"

The students had different thoughts in their minds but almost all of them instantly supported her in a chorus.

"Maddy is right."

"Yeah, that Leila is simply too arrogant and vicious. She didn't even speak up when her sister was being bullied."

"I thought she was quite good-looking and decided to vote for her as the belle. Who knew she would be such a vicious person?"

"From now on, I am her anti-fan."

Seeing the way their opinions had switched to favor her, Julianne's lips slowly curled into a smile, and she waved her hand lightly while saying softly.

"Girls, stop saying that about my sister, please. She will be angry at me if she hears about this."

"Let her come and meet us then! If she wants to fight, then we are here," a student said loudly.

"You are right."

Madeline's lips also had a smile as she nudged Julianne.

"You see, just like me, other students wouldn't condone someone as evil as Leila."

"Yeah, we wouldn't!" they cheered with fake smiles.

Of course, not all of the students were brainless and wanted to be heroes or heroines. Each more or less had their own vicious thoughts.

Chief Faisal's life wasn't that public, and only a few of them had an idea about his new wife, but for such a devil incarnate to marry another woman, they attributed that to him loving the woman.

And since Julianne was the woman's daughter, they might as well bet on her.

Whether their bet was right or wrong, it wasn't as if they would lose anything.

Suddenly, someone pulled Julianne's hand intimately, "Anne, I heard that Jessica had a quarrel with your sister this morning. Is that true?"

Julianne tucked her hair behind her ears and nodded. "Yeah," then she wrinkled her nose and shook her head, "Sister has always been overbearing since we were kids, and I am quite worried about that. Jessica isn't someone anyone could touch, and Daddy might not pay any attention to this matter... Sigh, it seems like I have to plead with him so she won't be badly retaliated against when Jessica strikes back."

In other words, Chief Faisal's favorite child was Julianne!

The simple guess made the students' eyes light up before they quickly comforted Julianne.

"You are too kind, Anne."

Julianne smiled warmly at the person. "What can I do? She is my sister."

*****

Inside the classroom.

Leila and Aditi had just sat down when the Dean entered, a red-haired man in his early fifties with a huge pot-belly that strained against his wine-colored shirt.

"How is your study going?" he asked as he walked to the podium.

The students replied with a chorus of 'good,' even if it was not likely so, and the Dean nodded satisfactorily as he cleared his throat, his gaze fixated on Leila's seat.

"I am sure it is going well for many of you. Of course, there are some rotten eggs that might not understand a thing with their poor intelligence quotient. I personally would have suggested such a person to retain, but a pity that her father was... a very hard-working man. Even though I might have loved to meet him and tell him his daughter is better off married off than to be in his home where she knew nothing except eating and sleeping. Am I right, student Leila?"

Without him even mentioning a name, the classmates could already guess whom he was talking about, and their gazes were fixated on Leila, waiting to see how she would react.

"You want my father's phone number?" Leila raised an eyebrow as she tugged on her tie.

The class erupted into laughter, and the Dean's expression stiffened as he didn't expect Leila to give this kind of reply.

His expression darkened as he slapped the podium.

"Enough!"

Then he turned to Leila, his tone hard. "Is that how you talk to your teacher?"

"You want me to teach you how?"

The Dean was so angry that he almost laughed. Then he pointed at the door and commanded, "Go and stand over there and face the wall."

Before anyone could say anything further, a cold voice silenced all.

"My student did something wrong?"

The owner of the voice was Miss Elena in her tight red skirt and white shirt, who walked in on her kitten heels, her face as cold as usual as she placed down her books.

"Miss Elena," the Dean greeted with a fake smile. "It must have been hard on you tutoring a bunch of lazy students, especially this Leila."

Miss Elena's gaze landed on Leila before she turned back to the Dean and answered seriously.

"No, it wasn't hard at all."

The fake smile on the Dean's face froze slightly. "But this particular student is a troublemaker, isn't she?"

Miss Elena glanced between Leila and the Dean before she stated seriously. "You mean her? I have never heard anything bad about her before. You must be mistaken."

"But I heard she pushed someone this morning in the hallway. Many students witnessed this."

Hearing this, Miss Elena slowly questioned, "Is that true, student Leila?"
