The Fight

"Yes, teacher." Even though Leila felt that this Mathematics teacher of theirs was evil, she still quite liked her.

"Why?" Miss Elena inquired, uncapping her marker pen. She was naturally not the type to blindly believe one person over the other.

"She asked me to release her, and I did, but she ended up falling on the floor." Leila shrugged.

"You heard that, Dean," Miss Elena turned to the Dean, slightly impatient as she wanted to start the class immediately.

The Dean was oblivious to the urgency in her tone as he retorted to Leila. "Why would you release someone who demanded it unless you were holding them?"

"Why?" Leila smirked, her pale lips curling up slightly as she tapped on her table. "Because she wanted to slap me," then her voice trailed off as her eyes met the Dean's; "Or did the Dean not hear this side of the story?"

The Dean felt a tremor at her piercing gaze. "Wh-why would someone want to slap you for no reason if you didn't do something to anger them?"

"Oh, so you mean that I can slap anyone if I am dissatisfied with their actions," Leila chuckled meaningfully. "Just like right now."

"You...!" The Dean's face turned beet red from embarrassment, unable to believe that a student could talk to him like this with his level of authority.

"Dean, the class is about to start," Miss Elena called out, and the meaning behind her words was clear. She didn't have time for this Dean who was famous for his poor conduct at all.

"Fine! I will be looking out for you from now on!" Saying that, the Dean stormed away, all furious.

After he was gone, Miss Elena faced Leila and addressed her patiently, though her cold voice remained the same.

"Student Leila, you should be more careful."

Leila's lips curled up slightly. "I will, thank you, teacher."

After school ended, Julianne came to Leila, and the moment she saw Aditi, her eyes darkened, and her hand curled into a fist, the embarrassment of the day before still vivid in her mind.

She controlled her expression and her lips stretched into an amiable smile as she greeted. "Sister, Senior Addy."

"Hm." Leila grunted in answer while Aditi couldn't even be bothered.

Julianne came forward and held Leila's arm with a smile. "Sister, do you want to buy buns? I heard that the Aunty isn't closed yet!"

This was the first time that Julianne ever proposed this, whether in Leila's past life or this life.

There had been times in Leila's past life when she had requested Julianne to buy it for her, but she always made excuses.

Therefore, a bad individual suddenly becoming kind means something evil is going on.

Leila tilted her head slightly. "Really?"

"Yeah." Julianne nodded immediately.

"Let's go there, then."

Aditi didn't want Leila to go, but she shut her mouth when she remembered how Jessica had stormed to their seats in the cafeteria in the afternoon earlier, claiming to meet Leila in the place they had agreed upon. She, too, was quite curious about what would happen if they took Julianne's bait.

"Oh, let me inform Jayden first." Leila clicked her tongue and typed a message to inform Jayden.

Julianne wanted to stop her but then closed her mouth.

What can Jayden do even if he comes later?

As they walked out of the school to the Aunty's store leisurely, Julianne suddenly called out, her tone hesitant. "Sister..."

"Uhm?"

"I..." She bit her lip gently, her eyes turning slightly panicky as she averted her gaze.

Leila waited patiently for her to say whatever she wanted to say, and her gaze turned meaningful when she saw Julianne suddenly bow.

"Sister, I went to meet Jessica behind your back!"

Both Leila and Aditi exchanged looks and they could see the slight surprise in each other's eyes.

"Sister, I already apologized to Jessica on your behalf but... she wouldn't listen... why don't we call Daddy and inform him about it?"

Leila froze slightly and she laughed mockingly at herself in her heart.

What was she expecting?

Was she expecting Julianne to suddenly turn over a new leaf?

She was really thinking too much. After all, it was clear what kind of person Julianne was. She is just an ungrateful wench.

Leila patted Julianne's hair, her eyes chilling. "No need to inform Daddy about it."

"Re-really?" Julianne's eyebrows etched into a frown and she sounded deeply concerned. "I am quite worried, Sister, who doesn't know how vicious that Jessica is. What if she did something bad to you?"

"Bad? No need to worry about those, Anne, we will settle her later, okay?"

"If you say so." Julianne drew her lips shut into a straight line.

Aditi scoffed at the side. "What a concerned younger sister you are."

Julianne blinked, thinking it was a compliment. "I love my sister the most."

Aditi sneered. "I hope you will, without any prejudices."

"Of course, I will."

Aditi chuckled angrily and said no more.

But upon reaching the bun shop, the Aunty waved at them the moment they approached.

"We're closed for today!"

"What? My friends clearly told me there are still some left, could she be lying?" Julianne's brow furrowed, her hands on her waist as she performed a monologue.

"I really hate doing this, you know." Aditi rolled her eyes. "Miss Julianne, I think it's better if you leave that friend of yours, or she will be the one to push you to somewhere undesirable next time."

Julianne's expression didn't undergo a big change like the last time; she just smiled faintly.

"I will take heed of Senior Addy's advice."

"I am glad you will do."

"Did I miss something?" An arrogant feminine voice tinged with malice was suddenly heard, and the trio slowly turned around, their eyes landing on Jessica, her lackey, and five professional bodyguards with frosty expressions.

Leading in front was Jessica herself, her red hair casually let down as she slowly stepped forward, her lips drawing a cold smirk as she met Leila's eyes.

"I answered your call, b*tch."

Leila didn't take any offense as she tapped her chin thoughtfully before finally patiently asking, "If I may ask, Miss Jessica, may I know why you are so keen to bully me today? What was the reason? Could it be..." She pointed at her face hesitantly and tilted her head. "Could it be you are jealous that I was made the School Belle and dethroned you? That's understandable if it was the reason."

"School Belle?" Jessica scoffed, brushing strands of her red hair on her face away. "Indeed, and that makes your offense equal to two. Do you think that just because you look good, you can steal my title away?"

Leila's eyelashes fluttered as she posed languidly. "What can I do when they offer it to me because you aren't that worth noting? They gave it to whoever deserves it, and you just happened not to."

"Little b*tch, you are really sharp-tongued, aren't you?" Jacob, Jessica's lackey, stepped forward, his hands on his waist as he glowered threateningly at Leila.

"Oh, you healed pretty quick." Leila's gaze suggestively landed between his thighs and Jacob stiffened, his legs suddenly turning jelly as he remembered the pain he felt there this morning.

"You evil b*tch!"

"What? Did my girlfriend say something wrong?" Aditi butted in, her narrowed eyes glowing with a threatening glint as her gaze collided with Jessica's. "Jessica, Leila is my person. Don't tell me I need to spell it out for you?"

Jessica rolled her eyes, her expression disdainful. "So?"

She licked her lips slightly and beckoned her bodyguards forward.

"Teach the blonde a good lesson so she will know how to talk to someone next time."

"Are you treating us as air?" Aditi was slightly furious as she stepped in front of Leila protectively.

"I will be glad if you don't pay her attention, Dear Aditi. A boorish person ought to be taught manners. I want this little b*tch to understand the immensity between her and me."

"Jessica!" Aditi yelled out angrily. "Don't you know that her father is Ramon, Ramon Faisal?"

"Ramon Faisal?" Jessica repeated before chuckling mockingly. "So?"

She stepped forward until she was standing face to face with Aditi and held the latter's chin. "You are still so stupid. Do you think Chief Ramon would offend our Hudson family for a mere daughter?" She released Aditi's chin and smirked at Leila. "Let's see, if I break your arms, I bet your father would probably come to our house with Oolong tea to please us."

"Ah... You're quite great." Leila chuckled softly, her eyebrow raised. "Daydreaming in the afternoon, you don't have enough sleep at night?"
