CHAPTER 3

In the top class ballroom of the Glorious Horizon Hotel.

After the engagement ceremony, Leila and Bruce were following behind their parents in making their toasts to the guests.

Wherever they went, there were blank stares behind them.

But they had no idea what was going on, and still carried smiling faces.

Leila's heavily made-up face was full of smiles and her eyes were full of smugness, and her red Dior dress made her look even more enchanting.

The Stewart's was one of the top five food companies in the world, many times better than the Crawford family.

As the fiancée of Bruce, Leila would certainly become the most envied existence in her circle of celebrity.

And Bruce was overjoyed to be rid of Madeline, the fatty, and to be engaged to the real rich and beautiful woman Leila.

The wives of the rich families who had already known about the truth were making fun of them in the dark.

"I told you, Leila doesn't look like a decent person, see? I am right about it."

"Bruce looks so elegant, how could he be that scum? You can't really judge a man by his appearance."

"I really feel sad for Madeline, she may be ugly but she is so kind. She has loved the wrong person."

As soon as Madeline entered the door, her eyes were first to fixed on Bruce and Leila. Based on the smug on Leila's face, Madeline was sure that she was unaware of the truth.

And she was happy to hear those wishpers about Leila..

The champagne-coloured starlight gradient gown set her off, and her long curly hair draped over her

shoulders, which made her look noble, gentle enough to overpower the crowd.

With a light foundation on her face, she was graceful enough. It was as if such a woman was born to stand in the cleanest of places, and even the slightest touch from an onlooker would be a stain.

Several men soon gathered around Madeline and took the initiative to introduce themselves, complimenting her on her beauty and asking her which family she was from.

Madeline was faced with such a situation again after five years, and she had mixed feelings in her heart.

She smiled lightly at them and then walked up to Bruce and Leila with her skirt in her hands.

With just a glance, Bruce held his breath, his eyes filled with amazement and shock.

Who was this? Madeline?

Wasn't her earthy fat irreversible? Why had she become so pretty now?

Bruce was stunned.

She was just wearing a dress, without a makeup and any ornaments.

Yet she easily overpowered the heavily made-up Leila and received the attention of the men in the audience!

Leila was beautiful, but her features were not refined enough.

But Madeline was perfect in every aspect.

His heart was instantly filled with remorse. Had he known that she would regain her beauty, he would certainly not have dumped her.

The parents of the Leila and Bruce were equally shocked.

Allen looked excitedly at his daughter, who had been restored to her former beauty, with eyes full of disbelief, "Madeline, is it really you? Where have you been for the past three years? Why haven't you

contacted us? And how did you lose so much weight?"

Although Bruce said that Madeline might have eloped with someone, but he did not believe it at all, because he knew his daughter very well.

Madeline's father was exited to see her, and Madeline felt guilty.

In the beginning, she didn't even contact her father in order to be able to cure her illness without being disturbed.

"Dad, it's a long story, I will tell you when we get home." Madeline said.

Allen nodded his head repeatedly, "Okay, okay."

"Madeline, you're back," Bruce was excited that his hands hanging at his side trembled slightly.

If you compare a woman to a flower, Madeline is a pure and noble white peony, while Leila is at best a wild rose.

When a man had not seen a white peony for a long time, he might be attracted to a wild rose.

But once the white peony returned, the existence of the wild rose would have no meaning.

Bruce's reaction made Leila furious.

In that moment she felt like she was back in the days when she had been pressured by Madeline.

In those days, Bruce and all the second generation rich people in Flento City only had eyes for Madeline, the first daughter of the Crawford family, but not for Leila, the second daughter of the Crawford family.

Her jealousy was so strong that her fists were clenched almost to the point of making a sound.

How could Madeline regain her looks! How could she!

Madeline looked at Bruce, her stomach turning over at the look in his eyes.

This man was really enough.

By this time many people had noticed the situation on their side and came over in unison.

"Well, I heard about your engagement just after I returned home yesterday, so I planned to come and give my blessings today." Madeline was calm and spontaneous, not seeing a half-mood of emotion under her clear eyes.

Such an attitude made Bruce extremely lost, she used to be always around his ass, he used to be her world.

But now the situation was different, and he couldn't bear the huge psychological difference.

"Oh my God, Madeline has actually become beautiful again, Leila can not compete with her."

"They cheated on her, and she still came to give her blessing, she is really generous."

"Leila is not as good looking as Madeline."

The whispers of the people around her were like knives cutting into Leila's self-esteem, and at this moment she only felt anger!

No, what did these people mean? No one knew what had happened between them in the first place.

"What are you guys babbling about?" Leila met the sarcastic gazes with a dissatisfied face.

"See the hot search yourself." Someone uttered.

Leila instantly checked the the topic that was number one in the hot search.

Leila, Bruce and their parents were stunned!

"What's going on here! Leila, give me an explanation! Didn't you and Bruce get together after Madeline left? So you guys lied to me?" Allen, who didn't know the truth, had an angry face.

"Honey, we'll talk about this at home, it is humiliated enough." Sara Moran pulled Allen's hand and whispered.

The stares from the crowd and the vicious slurs on the internet made Leila feel ashamed.

So the guests here already knew about all this?

If that was the case, she must have been cursed in the back when she and Bruce were making a toast.

She felt ironic just thinking about that image.

On the contrary, Madeline looked like she had nothing to do with it.

She seriously doubted that Madeline was behind the scene, for it happened just after she returned

Without hesitation, Leila clutched Madeline's wrist and dragged her all the way to the end of the corridor.

Gritting her teeth, she asked, "You did it, right? You're so shameless, you want to make things difficult for me, don't you?"

She was furious and slapped fiercely towards Madeline's face.
