Four thousand a month!

Ten minutes later.

Sonia's inbox was filled with a series of files, and her phone rang right afterward.

"Miss Juarez, who exactly did you have me look into?" The woman's voice on the phone was trembling slightly.

Hearing this, Sonia frowned slightly, "Didn't find anything?"

"No, I found it! Do you remember the prodigy from Starfall City many years ago?"

"The prodigy?"

She tried hard to remember, vaguely recalling such a person, as strong people always remember those stronger than themselves.

"The one who took the college entrance exam at eight and got into Royal University?" Sonia suddenly exclaimed.

"Looks like you do remember!"

"Of course I remember! I lost to a poor kid from a small town at the math competition in prodigy camp! I'll never forget that for the rest of my life!"

Every year, Starfall City searches for all the exceptionally talented prodigies across the city to form a prodigy camp,

Sonia was one of the top participants back then, but what of it? She still ended up second in the yearly math competition!

No matter how hard she tried, the other kid always managed to outperform her, a real childhood nightmare!

"It can't be... How could he be that genius prodigy from back then?!"

Though she said this, her heart was beginning to accept it as truth, explaining why when Sonia tried to show off her lifelong achievements in front of Gibson, he always looked at her as if she were foolish.

Taking the college entrance exam at eight, and getting directly admitted to a prestigious university in the capital, had been a lifelong shadow for Sonia.

Even though she got sent abroad to a top school at twelve, she always had this insurmountable hurdle in her heart.

"But... it seems he didn't go to the capital for college!"

The woman's puzzled voice came through the phone suddenly.

"What?! He didn't go to the capital? Where did he go then?" Sonia asked, very curious.

"At the age of ten, he solved the epic mathematical problem left by Eldoria Kovitz, making waves both domestically and internationally!"

"The genius that made headlines back then, that was him?!"

"..."

After a pause, Sonia was still confused about what this 'sssss' level secret meant; typically, the highest official secrets are rated 'sss'.

An 's' level secret usually involves military leaders, business magnates, or individuals who could threaten national security.

People who could paralyze a nation with a gesture are merely classified as 's' level secrets.

But Gibson's status had reached the pinnacle of global risk assessments; such individuals, wherever they appear, are typically met personally by heads of state.

With resources that could overturn a nation and wealth to rival countries, such a person would make any high-level officials tremble!

"Miss Juarez, keep your money, don't call me again—ever!" the woman on the phone said, her voice fraught with urgency.

"What?! You haven't explained what 'sssss' level secret means. Wasn't he just released from prison? Why such secrecy around his identity?!" Sonia exclaimed into the phone, but the woman just hung up and even returned the money.

What could scare someone so much they'd turn down millions?

"Could it be a case of mistaken identity?" she muttered, looking down.

But then she shook her head the next second. There are many people with the same name, but in Starfall City, there couldn't be another top-tier genius with the same name!

If it really was that genius who had returned, making him a security guard would be the ultimate insult!

Meanwhile, in the elevator downstairs.

Gibson was in the middle of deleting hundreds of emails when his phone pinged with three new ones.

"The military is offering $20 billion to meet with you to discuss a partnership. We hope you will consider our request!"

"Hello, this is the office of the Emir of the UAE. We've heard of your release and would like to offer you $100 billion a year to come and advise us, with a share in the profits!"

"This is the Royal Family. We've heard of your release and would like to invite you to meet the new king, with a generous annual compensation if you consider, Mr. Barton."

"..."

Seeing all these invites asking him to do this and that, Gibson just couldn't keep up with deleting them.

He was over the whole underworld drama, sick of those days when it was all about showing off.

Why was living a normal life for a few days so hard?!

Ding ding ding—!

He was busy deleting emails when suddenly his phone rang. Weirdly, the phone just showed an incoming call with no number or location.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he answered the call as he stepped out of the elevator.

"Who is this?" Gibson's voice was icy as he spoke into the phone.

A charming and seductive voice came through, "Dear Mr. Barton, it's been a while. Don't you miss me at all?"

"Rose?"

This woman, true to her name, was stunningly beautiful but thorny as all get-out. Any man who got close didn't get to enjoy her beauty before being used up and tossed aside.

She took pleasure in manipulating men, skilled in gathering intelligence; they had worked together a few times in the past.

It had been a long time since they'd been in touch, only ever communicating by phone, never face-to-face. Gibson didn't even know what this so-called 'man-eater' Rose actually looked like.

"Seems like Mr. Barton remembers me!" Rose's voice oozed charm over the phone.

Gibson didn't have time to chit-chat with this woman. He cut straight to the chase, "You know, I'm not one for small talk! Especially with women! Don't think you can get cozy with me just because you're attractive!"

"Here's the thing, the situation in Europe is a bit tense lately. Someone's offering a hundred billion dollars for a year! Just to have Mr. Barton stay in Europe!" Rose said cheerfully, "To earn money that easily, I'm quite envious!"

"A hundred billion?! Even the dogs I send out as bodyguards make more than that!"

Gibson took a deep breath and said coldly, "And! I've already found a job!"

"Oh? So, the pay there must be better than this, huh? What job?"

"Security guard, four thousand a month!"

"Pfft—!"
