Boss, I think they’re playing us!

Evening was falling, and the sky gradually dimmed.

Gabrielle pulled up in a Mercedes E outside the Wind Group building. After waiting for about half an hour, Sonia finally came out of the company and got into the car.

"What's up? You look upset. Did those old guys at the company give you a hard time again?" Gabrielle asked gently as Sonia got into the car.

Sonia turned her head away, "No, it's not that! Another batch of goods got seized today. It's driving me crazy! If this keeps up, I'll go bankrupt!"

"Hey, Didn't you say Gibson owes your family a lot of money? Get him to pay up!"

"Him?! He doesn't have a penny to his name. I just sent him off to work as a security guard today!"

"What?! You made him a security guard?! Wasn't he supposed to be some fallen genius from back in the day? If you let him do real work, he might even make you some money!"

"...…"

Sonia had mentioned to Gabrielle before about discovering Gibson's mysterious identity and learning that he was that once-famous genius who had mysteriously disappeared. A genius is always a genius, no matter where you place them. Even in the security department, someone like Gibson would quickly rise to prominence. Not using such talent would be a total waste!

"Let me be the CEO, and in ten days, I'll multiply your company's market value several times over. Wouldn't that pay off your family's debt?!"

Just then, a voice suddenly came from behind, startling both women into screams.

Can you imagine chatting with a friend and suddenly hearing someone else's voice from behind you? It's absolutely terrifying! And the most crucial thing is, the car doors were closed. How did he get in?!

"How did you get in?!" Sonia turned around and exclaimed.

Gibson was sitting in the back seat, legs crossed, "I got in with you! I've been sitting here all this time, and you didn't even notice?!"

The two women exchanged bewildered glances.

It had been at least a few minutes since they got in, but they really hadn't noticed a man sitting in the back!

"With this level of alertness, no wonder you get targeted and can't shake them off!" Gibson said, exasperated, "You two grow up but the brains don't!"

Gabrielle, fuming, opened the car door and got out, pointing at him angrily, "Get out!"

"Maybe you should get out!"

"You!!!!"

With that, Gabrielle climbed into the back, and in the confined space, a struggle ensued.

The entire car jolted up and down by the roadside as they tussled.

Onlookers couldn't help but glance inside, then shook their heads and muttered, "People have no boundaries these days," before moving on.

In the cramped space, Gabrielle ended up straddling Gibson's lap.

Sonia, sitting up front, glanced in the rearview mirror. The positioning of the two in the backseat was quite compromising.

"Ahem! Gabrielle, you're… exposed!" she said, covering her face in embarrassment.

Gabrielle quickly got down and sat properly.

"You drive," Sonia said sternly to Gibson.

"Alright."

No sooner had the car started than a black Alphard minivan began to follow them.

"Hurry up and follow them!" a man in the passenger seat said sternly.

Sonia had seen Gibson's driving skills before. Even during the evening rush hour, he maneuvered the Mercedes E like a pro, weaving in and out of traffic with ease.

"Are you crazy?! Slow down!" Sonia and Gabrielle were pressed tightly against their seats by the strong acceleration. It was one thing to drive fast in the morning, but at night, with several times more traffic, it usually took forever to get home due to the congestion. But Gibson didn't care; he just kept finding gaps and diving through them.

"Wait, why does this route feel off?!" Gabrielle said, looking out the window in surprise. "Is this the road out of town?!"

"Where are you taking us? Let me tell you, just because we're good-looking doesn't mean we're easy prey for a creep like you!"

"You?! Please, I'm not interested!"

"You…!"

Gabrielle tried to lunge at him again, but this time Sonia pulled her back.

She had realized why Gibson was driving out of town.

"Look behind us," Sonia whispered.

Sure enough, a minivan was tailing them, its license plate covered. Even from this distance, they could sense the sinister smiles of the people inside.

"Damn! We're being followed!" Gabrielle exclaimed, finally catching on.

Compared to her, Sonia remained much calmer, as if she was used to this.

"Where are you taking us?" she asked.

"To the outskirts," Gibson replied, his tone calm but with a hint of coldness.

"What are you planning to do? Let me remind you, this is Thyria. Murder is illegal!"

"Murder? Please, I wouldn't stoop to crushing this kind of trash. Buckle up, I'm about to speed up!"

"…"

His sudden acceleration left the people in the Alphard minivan stunned.

"Boss, I think they're playing us! Did he just slow down earlier because he was worried we couldn't keep up?"

"Wait, where are they going? Out of town?"

"…"

In the city, with all the surveillance cameras, they hadn't dared to make a move and were wondering how to get them out of town. Now, they were driving out of the city themselves!

Isn't this a gift from the heavens?!

Vroom—!

The front car suddenly sped up, and the minivan struggled to keep pace.

"Damn, they're going so fast!"

"Stop talking and follow them!"
