Does this guy ever shut up?

The guys in the security room reluctantly dug out 500 bucks to help him out.

Working as a security guard at Wind Group only pays just over four thousand a month.

In Starfall City, that's just enough to scrape by, and if you've got a mortgage, you're basically living paycheck to paycheck.

Forget about supporting a family; it's tough enough just keeping your own head above water. And on top of that, this month someone's going to take a thousand off him.

Gibson walked up from outside and glanced at the guy, didn't say a word, and headed straight for the security office. But then, a young guard stepped in his way.

"Hold it, can't you see we're all busy here?! Nolan, what kind of training are you giving these newbies?!" the young guy snapped.

Nolan kept giving Gibson knowing looks. It was only Gibson's second visit to the security department since he started working there a few days ago!

"Oh, it's money you're after?!" Gibson suddenly clicked, "Why didn't you say so sooner? I've got plenty!" And with that, he pulled out a thick stack of hundred-dollar notes from his bag, leaving everyone gaping. There must've been at least twenty grand in there. His wallet was nearly bursting.

Who would've thought an ordinary security guard could carry that much cash around at work?

When the young guy saw Gibson unfurl that big stack of cash, he couldn't stop grinning, especially since it was right in front of him.

"Man, you really came through bringing all that cash! Gotta take good care of you around here!" he exclaimed excitedly.

Gibson counted the money carefully for a while and then, from the stack of hundred-yuan notes, he pulled out just ten yuan and handed it over. "Here's exactly ten bucks, take it."

Everyone paused. With all that money, and he only gave out ten bucks? Wasn't that just a slap in the face?

"Kid, what's this supposed to mean?! You treating me like a beggar?!" the young guy grabbed Gibson's collar, raising his voice in anger.

Gibson casually flicked his hand, knocking the guy's grip away, and scoffed, "Aren't you just here begging? And quite boldly at that, talking about borrowing money—do you ever plan on paying it back?"

"You...!" The young man was so taken aback by the remark, he was at a loss for words. The other guards around felt a sense of satisfaction, glad someone finally spoke their mind!

This young guy, Mike, worked in HR and made twice what any guard made, yet he was always trying to squeeze extra benefits from the rank and file.

That kind of behavior was just like stealing money from a beggar's bowl. It wasn't illegal, but it sure was immoral.

"What do you mean, 'you'? You're at the point of begging, so lower your attitude a bit. We're the ones who feed you!"

Gibson gave Mike a mocking smile and said, "If I were your dad, I'd definitely have to teach my no-good son a lesson first! Seeing you like this, it's just embarrassing, makes me not want to live!" Then, he poked Mike lightly in the side, making him wince.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk!" Gibson kept up with the sarcasm.

"A twenty-something with the kidneys of an eighty-year-old, right? Tell me, other than drooling over girls, what can you actually do?"

Then, he turned to the other colleagues around, "Forget it, guys, let's each chip in five hundred and send him to see some traditional doctor. But honestly, I don't think there's much hope for him, he's a lost cause!"

Suddenly, a burst of laughter erupted from behind. Nolan and his team just couldn't hold it in anymore and started laughing.

Gibson wasn't just messing around. Lots of people begged him for medical help, and he usually found it too much trouble to bother, but Mike's obvious kidney issues were plain for anyone with eyes to see. Clearly, he had some issues in certain areas.

"Are you trying to get fired or what?!" Mike pointed at Gibson's nose, his tone cold and clearly threatening.

"You know, the last guy who dared point at my nose like that is now six feet under!" Gibson spread his hands and chuckled, "Bro, I'm not bragging, but you're not the one who can fire me!"

"Oh really? As of now, you're fired! That's what I say!" Mike said, picking up his phone to call the HR department.

He reported his intention to fire Gibson, but the response he got left him dumbfounded.

A girl's voice on the phone said, "Mike, if you find it difficult to stay at the company, please come to process your resignation. The company will pay you three months' salary."

This turned Mike livid, his face ashen with anger: "What the hell, I can't even fire a security guard?! Damn it, what's Sonia playing at, acting all high and mighty? Believe it or not, I'll have my uncle teach her a lesson!"

Before Mike could finish his sentence, Gibson suddenly backhanded him across the face, sneering, "Hitting someone like you really lowers my standards, it's just too dirty!" After saying this, he quickly wiped his hands on his clothes, looking disgusted.

This slap left Mike and Nolan's group completely stunned.

"Badass!" someone murmured in awe under their breath.

It seemed the security department had welcomed an extraordinary new member, daring even to hit someone from HR. These folks often felt looked down upon, bossed around, but today they finally got a chance to vent.

"Fine! Big shot, huh! Try hitting me again, see what happens!" Mike shouted at Gibson, clutching his face, furious.

Smack! Without hesitation, Gibson slapped him again.

Gibson gave a resigned smile, "In my whole life, I've never met someone who so blatantly asks to be hit!"

"Damn you, you dare hit me? You either kill me today, or I swear I won't let this go!" Mike fumed with rage, threatening Gibson.

Mike was still raging on.

Threatening others might work, but threatening Gibson? That was a joke!

"Stop, man! This is getting out of hand!" Seeing things were going south, Nolan quickly stepped in and grabbed Gibson's arm, whispering a warning, "His uncle's on the board of directors. If you keep this up, not even Miss Juarez can save you!"

A slap or two might not be a big deal, but if it really escalated, it would definitely force Sonia to step in and handle things!

"You hear that, kid?! My uncle's on the board. Even Sonia has to respect him. What can a little guy like you do? If you apologize now, I might consider letting you off..."

Mike hadn't finished his sentence when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach and the next second, he was sent flying like a kite with its string cut.

"Does this guy ever shut up?" Nolan, rubbing his face, shook his head helplessly, clearly exasperated.
