The drunken mistake

Raphael, in a state of utter intoxication, stumbled into his study, his vision blurry and his judgment clouded. He had mistaken Dorothy, who had been sent by his mother to retrieve something from the study, for his wife Sophia. In his drunken haze, he failed to recognize the innocent and unsuspecting girl, and...made a grave mistake. Dorothy, naive and unaware of the situation, was victim to his error, and the consequences of this fateful night would be far-reaching and devastating.

The next morning, Raphael awoke with a heavy heart, his mind foggy and his memories hazy. But as the events of the previous night began to come into focus, he was overcome with shock, horror, and remorse. He knew he had to face the reality of his actions and make amends, but the weight of his guilt and shame threatened to crush him.

As the days passed, Raphael struggled to come to terms with what he had done. He was consumed by guilt and shame, and he couldn't bear the thought of facing Dorothy or his wife Sophia. He knew he had to make things right, but he didn't know where to start.

Meanwhile, Dorothy was devastated by the traumatic experience. She had always looked up to Raphael as a kind and caring figure, and she couldn't understand how he could have done such a thing. She felt lost and alone, and she didn't know who to turn to for help.

As the tension in the household continued to build, Mrs. Martins, Raphael's mother, sensed that something was amiss. She had always been manipulative and controlling, and she saw an opportunity to use the situation to her advantage. She began to spin a web of deceit and lies, pitting family members against each other and exacerbating the already fraught situation.

As the drama unfolded, it seemed clear that the consequences of Raphael's actions would be far-reaching and devastating, affecting not only himself, but also those he loved most.

It's been a week since that night of Raphael's mistake, Dorothy has kept what happened to herself because of the shame she felt and she remembers Raphael's words, which he said to her in the morning after he realized his mistake, "Dorothy, I am sorry for last night, but whatever that comes out of it, I will protect you, I am sorry", those words gave Dorothy some courage, she had planned to resign from her job and use her savings to find a small apartment for herself, she just want to escape from that house, for whenever she sees Raphael, he reminds her of that night.

Mrs Martins found out what happened that night and called Dorothy, "Dorothy, I know what happened that night," Mrs. Martins said, her voice cold and calculating. "And I must say, I'm disappointed. You're a clever girl, but you're not clever enough to think you can just leave us after what's happened."

Dorothy felt a chill run down her spine as she stood in Mrs. Martins' presence, her heart racing with fear.

"What do you want from me?" Dorothy asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

"I want you to stay right where you are," Mrs. Martins replied, her eyes narrowing. "You're going to continue working here, and you're going to pretend like nothing ever happened. And in return, I'll make sure that Raphael takes care of you... financially, of course."

Dorothy felt a wave of disgust wash over her. She knew she had to get out of there, but she didn't know how. She was trapped, and Mrs. Martins knew it.

"I won't do it," Dorothy said, trying to sound brave. "I'll leave, and I'll tell everyone what happened."

Mrs. Martins laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You'll do as I say, Dorothy. Or else."

The threat hung in the air, and Dorothy knew she was in grave danger. She had to think fast, or she'd be trapped forever in this web of deceit and shame.

Mrs Martins drew closer to her, "my dear, don't be scared, I will talk to Raphael and make sure we make it up to you, please stay with us, if you don't mention it to Sophia, she would not know",

"But ..", Dorothy tried to say something but Mrs Martins interrupted her, with her eyes sending warnings, "just stay calm, Dorothy".

Unbeknownst to everyone, Sophia too was aware of that night, the pains of betrayal was too much on her, but Sophia wasn't the one to lose what she have, she's too brazen to give up easily, remembering what she did to Lyra, she planned to handle things her own way.

It's been two weeks and Dorothy has been experiencing morning sickness, Sophia too had played along by claiming that she is pregnant, she announced her pregnancy earlier before anyone could notice Dorothy's pregnancy and the weight she had gained.
