23. Development 2

1949, India

It has 2 years since we gained independence, all the islands in Indian Ocean and princely states have declared for India and became a part of it. The Chinese civil war is at an end. We made some nice profits in selling them our old arms and remaking them to profit from this and will do this again in Korea war.

Our steel was highly sought after to make heavy war machines in these wars and we got a huge profit from it.

Many Indian cooperative and companies have also started. Now there is a cooperative for milk like AMUL in every state and some states even have more than one.

An Indian brand for shoes called Walker has also started but before he start manufacturing in bulk, I told him how Indian feets are wider than european and will need different sizes than standard european ones. So he has tasked his R&D to develop a size system for Indian feets. This will lead to a greater demand for shoes in future as shoes were even more uncomfortable in this time than in 2020s and maybe will lead to a better performance in sports like football, race and hockey where continuously running in uncomfortable shoes may cause show bite to players.

My wife Parvati started her own clothing brand catering to rich people and is looking for skilled designers who have knowledge of old designs like cheenth etc. While there production was banned by British there maybe some workers who may have taught the style to their future generations or some old men who knew how to design them.

Now she is finally able to make these designs and sell the handmade cloth as a luxury item. She has just started to produce a cheaper machine made cloth for middle class as well.

The quality of her work is top class and these clothes wouldn't fade after washing but will grow more vibrant. She also started designing traditional Indian clothes in a more fashionable and easy to wear way.

My sister, Priya started her dance crew and was able to recruit many young classical dancers and singers and taught them modern pop dances mixed with classical dances like airwalk, moonwalk, disco, robotics etc. and songs for these dances.

Parvati collaborated with Priya and designed their dresses for the charity events, shows and advertisement. There are going to be events in held in other countries too next year. It will increase crews demand for ads but Indian brands will get priority.

There dance and dresses are copyrighted under proper authorities under the name of I-Pop. While the dance will need just a small acknowledgement of Priya and her crew as the creator of these styles but same is not the case for dresses. If a foreign company wants to manufacture this fashion trend they will need to take permission from proper authorities along with a percentage of the profit earned but it is completely free for Indian brands to manufacture.

My wife Zarefaan and a team under her has been making regular trips to UK and France in this time and cataloguing all the artifacts shown in museum and trying to find those that are not shown in museums and matching them with our list.Museums are being built in different states for their respective treasures and will be managed by Zaferaan.

Old abandoned palaces and forts are also being renovated as tourist spots and attraction under Durga. These forts and museums will bring many tourists not only from India but from all over the world.

And Lakshmi has started a hospital chain with an hospital in every state which treat the patients through ayurveda and yoga. She recruited many ayurvedic doctors from all over India for this purpose. She also suggested teaching yoga to students in school during morning prayer.

My brother Shakti has also started a culture of novels, comics and animes in India is recruiting artists to start producing a show on Ramayan and Mahabharat, two epics that are deeply ingrained in Indian culture.

Many construction industries like cement, brick, paints are also growing due to rising demand of construction work.

My company also collaborated with Tata Motors in making cars but not the boxy cars of today but some future designs that will have the best safety features and comfort that rivals Rolls Royce for rich. And a more cheaper and economical version for middle class.

They will be first shown in my trip to Britain for a meeting with King George next year to negotiate for removing sanction on Britain after we removed sanction on France when they agreed to our demands and returned all our artifacts and national treasures.

Well I have already told them our demands it's just that they don't want to give up our artifacts back to us. We also asked for an envoy from US to act as middle man and to ensure that Britain don't back out from this deal.

Speaking of politics using the riots we also took away the power of maulanas and missionary schools that propogate their religion instead of teaching children. Now these priests only have duty to take care of their religious places for which they will be given a salary and all the donations given in these places will be controlled by government and used to fund schools and hospitals.

The agriculturist I tasked with creating Indian HYV seeds were able to find many such seeds and have started to cross breeding them. According to them they will be able to create HYV seeds that meet my demands by 1951. They also collected data on type and fertility of soil, availability of water in the area etc. and farmers were asked to produce crops according to their specification. This increased the production of crop slightly as farmers are now producing crops that were more suitable for the land.

The historians also found many ancient temples which were destroyed and churches and masjids over them. We used the dharmic Islamists to destroy these masjids 'as they didn't want to show that they don't practice their religion by destroying others religion.' The churches were easily destroyed as there were not many Christians to make riots and they were already scared of the retaliation. New churches and masjids were built to pacify these religions at some other place.

Many artisans of different kind were also promoted, like potters, painters, goldsmith etc and auctions were held for their crafts.

India was developing both culturally and economically. Soon we will also start exporting our goods and foreign market wouldn't even know what hit them.
