24. Constitution and First General Election

1950, India

The constitution was finished on 26 November last year but we waited till 26 January to adopt it as it was the day on which Indian flag was hosted after a long time and swaraj was declared.

So, the constitution was adopted on 26 January 1950. Soon after I declared that we should host election as not all population voted in the election held by Britain. So a election committee was formed which was kept separate from the government and any political party.

I was also able to pass some law for election and conditions on candidates. Some of them were that no candidate should be older than 75 and will retire at the age of 75. After a person stood up in any kind of election his next two generations or anyone related to him can't stand in election for next 2 generation. No one can give false promises in their election campaign. During next election, election committee will check that if the promises are completed or progress is made or not. If no progress is made than the member will be charged a huge fine and will not be able to stand in any other election. And all the campaigning will end one month before the election. Everyone has to declare all their wealth and source of donation for the campaigning. No foreigners are allowed to donate in election and many other.

So, the campaigning started and will last till the end of March. Elections will be held in April all over the India and results will be declared by the end of May.

Our promises were:

* Availability of food 2 times to everyone by 1960.

* Release of 500000 jobs in goverment sectors.

* Better relation with neighbouring countries.

* Better roads.

* Railway in every village by 1960.

* Availablity of clean drinking water in every village.

* Creation of dams and canals for providing water for farming all year round.

Some more promises were made but only sensible and achievable ones. Many debates were held, campaigning in every district of every state. It was a busy period but in the end we won the election in with 70% vote.

Much of it was because of many princes of princely states still held influence in their regions and supported me. And also because of my reconquering of Pakistan and decisive action in quelling riots. But Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber were under president rule ( currently under pm till president election).

Soon after the sworning in ceremony and speech, the land reform bill was proposed and soon passed through both lok and rajya sabha and enacted immediately. Police action were taken everywhere so that they don't transfer land to family members or sell it and the land was ceased immediately to be redistributed.

After this a ban was put on washing clothes and throwing waste in water bodies. And a ban on CFCs was also passed to be replaced with HFCs and HClFCs.

We entered in a deal with USSR and Iran for oil and a pipeline will be established from Iran to India. For a pipeline with USSR it will pass through Afghanistan so we are negotiating with them.

For securing the border from China when it will try to invade India for 'akshai chin' and Arunachal Pradesh to gain access to water of Brahamputra river, we started by defining a fixed border by mounting high red coloured poles to define the border and putting a permanent fence in the area. We also started building forts and bunkers in the mountain peaks and securing the border.

Similiar action were happening in Arunachal Pradesh the border was being secured and fencing was being put in place. Bunkers and forts and military bases were being constructed.

Soon time for my trip to Britain also came. A force of specially trained commandos was coming with me along with reporters from the new media channels started just now. I decided to go there with Zaferaan,.as she was investing so much time and efforts for getting those artifacts and treasures back, along with my pet dog Ramu with me on the trip.

After reaching there I met with the dignitaries send by British government. I didn't get in the car provided by them but in the back of the plane where a fleet of bulletproof cars was waiting for me along with their dignitary who will show us the way to our residence here. I sat in the car inside the plane so that no one will know in which car I sat in.

Next day, we met with King George who will negotiate the terms for removing sanction on them on behalf of British government. And soon the negotiation started with the American diplomat as witness from the UN.

He was reluctant to give up any of those artifacts and specially Kohinoor but we were stood firm on our end. He even proposed exchanging technology for lifting sanctions as he didn't knew that I had already created them for India. At the end he gave up and agreed to transfer these treasures. But the Kohinoor will be transferred after his death as he didn't want to lose the main attraction of his crown.

Britain will bear all the expenses of transferring these treasures along with paying 3 times the cost of these artifacts if any is found missing or damaged from our list. He was actually shocked seeing our detailed list of all the artifacts, some of them are not even shown in museums but are held by their rich or noble families and even the royal family.

After this we returned and started preparing the museums for their inaugration which will be done after these artifacts are safely put there

India has grown very much. Now it's GDP growth is 10% per annum and growing. Many brands have started developing which will soon flood the foreign market. Many old industries which were destroyed are getting revived from micro industry to textile industry and what not.
