The next morning, Arga slowly woke up, feeling Ertex's hand playing with her hair. She looked up at him, seeing that he had his eyes closed.
She raised her head, stealing a kiss, before quickly getting up and going to the bathroom. By the time she had returned, Ertex was already up.
"Morning! What's in plan for today?"
"I kind of want to try something."
It wasn't long before Arga could see a notification before her eyes.
[Ertex sent you 50 attribute points!]
"Hehehe!"
She didn't even had the time to ask what was he doing before he told her.
"I'm farming attribute points today. Since I've no use for them, I'll just sell them."
Arga shook her head. Even if she was already used to his obsession with money, he was still able to surprise her sometimes.
"Of course, of course."
She walked towards the bed, trying to tidy it up a little bit, but was stopped by Ertex as he raised her up, forcing her to wrap her legs around him.
"That's not nice! Shouldn't you support your lover's dreams? What's with the disappointed look on your face?"
Arga giggled, playfully biting his ear as she hugged his neck.
"I do, of course I do."
He was about to say something, but only rolled his eyes when he sensed Edna just about to knock.
"Your trainee is here, I guess."
He placed her down, but she didn't let go of him, getting on her toes to kiss him, ignoring the knocking for a good minute. After they broke the kiss, she straightened her clothes and ran a hand through her hair.
"You look good, don't worry."
She smiled at him before she went to open the door, only seeing Edna.
"Your mother didn't want to come along anymore?"
This question made Edna sigh as she was confused about this too.
"I don't know what has gotten into her... She just kept telling me that she wants to do trials alone. She never acted like that before."
Ertex, who was walking past them, was stopped by Edna who grabbed his arm.
"Please, can you look after her? You can still catch her if you hurry up."
He slowly moved his eyes towards his arm before shaking off her hand.
"How about you grow strong enough to protect whoever you want? Stop worrying about meaningless things. Do you think she'll be that dumb to do something that may put her life in danger? To me, it just seems like you don't believe in your mother."
He didn't let her say anything else before he suddenly disappeared. Edna lowered her head, biting her lip.
"Let's go."

Ertex appeared in the downtown, where the trials were. There were many more trials than the previous town, with almost no light colors portals. It really seemed like the difficulty ramped up. He walked towards them, looking around for the darkest color he could find.
After a while, he saw a very dark purple colored portal, almost making it seem black. Looking at it, he found another interesting thing about it.
[Chances of this becoming an Impossible-level trial - 0,038%]
He smiled as his eyes glowed.
[Chances of this becoming an Impossible-level tral - 100%]
The portal changed its color, becoming black. Without thinking twice, he entered. Inside, it looked like he was in a mansion. The ceiling was very high, with a big chandelier in the middle of it. The living room he was in was massive, way too massive for only a brown sofa and a TV.
There were two staircases, one on the left and one on the right, both leading to the same place. He wanted to climb the one on the left, but stopped as he heard footsteps coming down from the staircase on the right.
He looked towards it, seeing a man with torn clothes, barely covering anything.
"I don't know what you did, but I am very glad you did it! It's so nice to finally be able to move again after centuries... To show you my gratitude, I'll make sure to kill you painlessly. Then, I'll finally get out of this pla-"
Ertex stopped him, punching him in the stomach before grabbing his face and smashing it on the wall.
"You won't do any of that, I'm afraid. All you are is just a way for me to level up. That's all."
He ducked the man's elbow, flipping him upside down, trying to stomp his head. The man, however, kicked him in the face while he stood in his hands, before throwing himself in Ertex's face, seemingly caving his head on the ground.
"A way for you to level up? That's something I never heard before."
Looking down, the man was surprised to see that Ertex was able to dodge that.
"Wanna hear it again?"
Using his foot, Ertex stomped the man's head on the ground. Taking off his leg, the man immediately got up, blood dripping from his face, trying to punch Ertex in the face.
He just moved his head slightly to the left, the man suddenly seeing Ertex's tips of his fingers, right before he was sent flying by a 1 inch punch.
"You are quite something, you know?"
The man barely dodged Ertex's knee, as he got up and grabbed him by his collar, ready to bash Ertex's face with his head.
"But it's useless. No matter how many times I die... I always get up again."
Right when he was about to hit him, the man felt something. Looking down, he saw Ertex's fist very close to his heart.
"No way.."
Not having time to react, Ertex punched him right in his heart, paralyzing him. Ertex then put his hands the man's mouth, grabbing both sides.
"Isn't that a curse? Getting beat up, resurrect, and then get beat up again? Good thing I'm a good guy, eh? I'll... make sure you'll die for real now~"
That was the last thing the man ever heard, as Ertex literally tore him apart in two equal pieces.

Ertex left the portal, looking around for another dark colored one, and wondering for how much he should sell these.
As he was searching, he suddenly spotted a certain someone. Smiling to himself, he approached her.
