Well, that's if you looks closely. One could see the metals were sharp but had a grease of something sort of chemical to it. The chemical was a green but had been partly contrasted by the thick touch of my blood. That can only mean, I paused and my eyes went wide open as thought I was hit with a bomb. My mouth was agape for a while as I stared at the blade's edge closely.
"Poison". I muttered out and looked at him.
"right on the money". He snapped almost immediately.
"the poison prevents ghouls from activating their Kagune and stops all forms of healing". He concluded and smirked at his brilliance and my potential failure.
I grumped and clutched my wounds, he was right. My cuts and bruises weren't healing and my Kagune felt dead and wasn't responding at all.
Shit! Those this means I was pancaked and toasted, without my Kagune I couldn't do anything but standing there. Perhaps an escape route now won't be so bad, but where will I run to. I was caught in between two tough bizarre decision, a rock and a hard place. I swallowed down a sore feeling in my mouth and kept my brains thinking. A ghoul kill a human with out a Kagune, that felt impossible but then again it was all the choice I had left. Also when I fought Run earlier in the construction site, I used nothing but my knife and wit. So I can win, if I was could outsmart him and get my timing right. But there's more thing left, to ensure his death.
"Hey, how long are you going to be there, thinking nonsense. Besides its not like die now, you simply get weaker every second". He chuckled and I pulled myself up.
"Shut up! You scum". I snapped and ran to him, in full speed. I threw a few punches, left right but he was a pretty good dodger. He weaved and weave every single hit, I got even more frustrated.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain run across my back. There were two hurtful slash that cut me open from behind. There were from his sickle. "bitch! I groaned as I was brushed to the floor and kicked in the same pattern, it was as though he was wearying me down with the same tricks and move but taking them from a different perspective. He used his sickle very well as a boomerang, sent it flying and curving backward to him, forcing it to cut me open from the back as I run to him. Very clever but it was time to get unreal.
I got up and watched his smiling mouth open up for a talk
"Don't give up yet or perhaps do give up. You can't…" he paused as he saw a chunk of rock heading his way.
He slashed it open and saw more pieces of stones flying his way. Am sure you understand this move, I kept it going over and over again forcing him to keep his sight on the stones and block his own line of sight. His cutting was accurate and made the rocks, shattering in his sight. I kept the stones thrown on his eye level, so he could barely see anything.
When he cut the final rock thrown, I was no longer in his sight. Forcing my pace to glance across his body and behind him. He caught a glimpse of my shirt and turned but I wasn't there anymore. He turned back to see me already, close to him. Inches away with my knife thrusting closer to his chest. Before he could even react, I had a good spell at him. I stabbed him in the chest and immediately he reacted by giving me a right jab, that pushed me aside.
"you bastard. You think, a mere stab like you this could kill me. I have trained my body for stuff like this". He snapped and pulled the purged knife out.
"I know that, that's why I added a little joyride to it" . I snapped and coughed up a splatter of blood. He got shocked by my words and looked at the edge of the blade, there was poison on it and he coughed up more blood than I did at the moment. He dropped his sickle and fell over to his knees. Coughing and looking pale yet confused as ever.
I stood tall and walked over to him, he raised his head in agony and groaned over the hurt he received.
"how did you…? He mumbled and looked at me, coughing out more blood and having his eyes shoot in further.
"Simple, I know I couldn't defeat you but I could force my speed for one last time. I threw those rocks to block your vision by keeping them within the range of your eye level. Then I let you think I was going to appear in front behind to attack you but instead I was hiding underneath your peripheral vision. Just then I knew, that you wouldn't dodge it and it would be a clean hit for me but I couldn't guarantee that it would actually kill you so I decided to add a little joy ride". I paused and looked at him. His eyes seemed to have more questions but he could speak. He only mumbled and coughed out blood.
"its obvious that my body could hold off the poison until a while but you humans can't handle it. So I made use of my fingers and punches, greasing your poisoned blade and infusing it in mine. The perfect end game". I snapped and concluded my talk. I watched him attempt to get up but his limbs were to feeble to move.
"you little piece of…" His words were merely completed and was caught short by the sound of gunshot. I felt the splattering of blood on my face and the man hunter had a big hole drilled on his head. He crumbled and fell over, while I stood in fear and shock.
"What the…? I paused as I managed to mumble these words. I took a slow glance and caught the eye of another man hunt staring at him.
I stepped back in fear as I was shocked a man hunter could kill his own partner. But then again, he did it to ease him of the pain he was going through from the poison. I felt this was my chance to run away as I could feel my body falling apart and failing. I twisted my joints, forcing myself to turn around as caught the sight of another man hunter, with a clock pistol pulled closer to my forehead. His eye were cold and calculating as though he was contemplating whether to kill me or not. Behind was his subordinate, who remained still.
I heard the gun shot, saw the bullet take a trip out the gun and felt the piercing pain in my head. I felt my skin take a pill and cold blood spill out the other way. In my last moments as I fell over and got a blurry vision of the hanging moon in the beautiful night sky. I could only think of one thing… "Yumeko".
