survive.

He saw through the move before I even started it and dodged it easily. He let his Kagune down my stomach and bust out my back, knocking me over the cliff. I held onto a rock by the mountain side but it wasn't strong enough and I was losing blood fast. As I hanged on, I looked up to see Rin staring down on me. I watched his Kagune reach out to a rock and heard him snarl.

"Told you, it will take a thousand years to defeat me". He reminded me again and smashed me clean off the cliff with the rock into the waters. As I sank deep, the water changed color to red and my vision of Rin in distance got even more and more blurry.

I woke up on the beach, my eyes felt heavy and stomach hurt. I lifted my visions to see Sakamoto sitting next to me. He was watching the waves in the waters and the beautiful view of the sun going down. There was a creaking sound of a campfire, with bloody clothes wrapped around it.

"Sakamoto-San? I called out and he looked at me. He cracked a soft smile but then looked back at the water.

"Ghouls die just like humans. They only live long thanks to their extraordinary ability and strength". He muttered and I wandered what this was all about.

The weather was cold and sun partly ceased to exist. The temperature dropped and the last ray of light beckoned on his face as he spoke. The cracking sound the fire got even loud and our clothes were both soaked in blood.

"Sakamoto-San? I called out again and he offered another warm smile. I had the feeling of lost, as he felt distance and cold.

"In the end of every war, they are casualties. So many lost and so many broken. You must pick a side in every fight, no everyone has the chance of going home". He muttered again and looked sternly at me.

"Sakamoto…? I paused and let out a low groan as my tummy ache.

"You'll be fine, Ichigo. I promise". He said in a low tone and got up to leave. I kept glaring at him as it felt different than before.

"Is everyone safe? I asked but he kept walking with no response. His head was bowed to his shoe and his mood took a sudden change.

"Sakamoto-San! I snapped out but he kept walking. I tried to reach out to him but he felt too far off. I stretched my hand , struggled to get up by my stomach hurt even further.

"Huh? I gasped as I stared into the sea. The waters were a bit shallow now and the sight of bodies was seen. It was as though I was having a bad dream. I wanted to scream but no voice came out, I turned to see Sakamoto-San, still walking.

"Sa…Sakamoto-San?! I screamed out and woke up. Apparently, it was a bad dream. I searched around but no sign of him, there was a fire cracking but he wasn't there.

I got up moving carelessly up the hill and back to the church house. I hoped everyone was okay at least, the weather was cold as the sun had disappeared. The moon hanged over the bright sky as the owl came out to hoot. I kept walking with my eyes cautiously looking around. I paused on multiple occasions to catch my breath and grip my tummy. All I wore was a black leather jeans, boots and long sleeve polo. It was covered in blood and clearly some one must have helped me get out the waters earlier after I fell.

I stumbled into a stone and fell over. Groaning loudly as it felt the battle ended hours ago. Perhaps they are survived and left, I hope they did. Megumi, Rafael and everyone, they best be alright. I smiled warmly as I remembered the words of Megumi. She really wished to sleep with me on the beach again, I chuckled as I was assured of their survival. She must have been so sure that Sakamoto-San would live, since he was the Nameless monster.

As I itched my legs, my eyes came across a person. The person laid perfectly still on the floor and didn't seem to move. I wished to ignore at first but I drew in closer. My eyes widened and my mouth gasped, my emotions had me burst into a hysterical laughter before tears. It was Megumi, she must have being attacked on the way up the hill and killed. Since she was han, her chances of survival were zero.

I groaned and let out a low muttering as my hatred for Yumeko increased. I didn't care of anything again, my emotions went numb. I was willing to kill everything and everyone around me. Clearly, I was done trying to be normal. I was going to the monster, every one called me.

After what seemed like a century of crying, I carried her body in my arms and walked up the hill. I was cold as my head was straight on the road. My eyes were neutral as though I was fine but my heart was aching badly. I finally made it up the hill to the sight of dead corpses, both man hunter and ghouls. One of them was Sakamoto-San, he was sitting down by a rock and relaxing on a tree.

"Sakamoto-San? I called out in a low voice but there was no response. He died smiling just like Megumi, just when I thought my life was getting perfect.

I groaned and screamed to the top of voice in anger, I was destined in my heat to kill anyone who stood in my way. Rin won't be spared, no one will be. I stepped over to the back house and into the field as Sakamoto's words came to my head.

"Death comes to every man in the end. After much bloodshed, I decided to start am orphanage and Rafael was my first child. It doesn't matter whether you are hurting, so long as you have people to come home too, the you'll be fine".

I scoffed and bent over, metal clanging as I dugged even faster. When the whole was big enough, I started to clear out the field. I laid Megumi to rest in a proper burial and Sakamoto too. As I offered down a few words of prayer for their souls, I heard a rustling sound behind me. A footstep approaching but ignored it, the steps got closer and stopped. I heard the sigh and the muttering of a voice.

"who the hell are you? I snapped out immediately.

"I'm Theodore. Assistant to Ayota, the late six nine leader". He said and offered a warm smile, which was not accepted.

"So he died huh? I asked and scoffed.

"Indeed. But among that, nothing can beat Sakamoto-San's death. He raised me well after all". Theodore said and smiled warmly.

"Bullshit". A voice snapped in from the woods and I turned to see Rafael. He had his eyes cold and was staggered in his footsteps. He was covered in blood and had his arm broken.

"You attacked us. You left us. Now! Sakamoto-San's dead because of your leaders stupidity". Rafael snapped but I wasn't even listening.

"Ayota was a selfish mad ghoul, but I can assure you his father was worst. But in the end, his father had an idea to his plans. Destroy Yumeko to save the whole of Japan". He said and Rafael gasped. I slowly turned and looked at him, in disgust I muttered.

"What are you saying? I asked.

"I'm saying. Put aside the ugly past and worked together to defeat Yumeko. Clearly, we know who our enemies are and let's take them out. We share one goal here, together we can defeat Aogiri tree before she even makes a move".

"Really? Rafael said in a doubtful tongue.

"I know all her ground plans and –

"are you proposing an alliance? I asked and looked at him.

"Yes! Rafael and you should join the Six nine. You're both strong men and I'll throw in a tip. Six nine's new leader is you. The one eyed ghoul". Theodore said and tipped his glasses.

I glared at him while Rafael stared at me. It was though he was waiting for me to reply. I took in a deep inhale and exhale before getting up from my kneeling position. I moved forward to Theodore and he stumbled back in fear that I wish to attack him.

"I accept the ugly role and this selfish alliance. But your ground plan scheme best be correct or I'll eat you up. Rafael! You'll be my side, you all will watch the one eyed ghoul rise to power". I snapped at them both and walked out, with an intermediating look on my face.

"Why does he feel even more scarier all of a sudden? Theodore asked and Rafael scoffed.

"Because he has lost every thing, family, friends and now himself. So we are about to see a different kind of monster".
