The grand hall was abuzz with the cream of society, all gathered to witness the high-profile engagement ceremony. The air was electric with excitement, conversations flowing like champagne as guests mingled and laughed.

Jewels sparkled, tuxedos shone, and designer gowns rustled as the elite crowd chatted and sipped their drinks.

Suddenly, a hush fell over the room like a velvet curtain. Heads turned, eyes swiveled, and conversations ceased as the stunning bride-to-be made her entrance.

Regina glided into the hall, a vision of elegance and poise, her exquisite gown shimmering in the light. She'd practiced will with the help of several tutors her parents hired so she wouldn't disgrace them.

The room was instantly entranced, all eyes fixed on her radiant beauty. The gentle rustle of her beautiful gown seemed to be the only sound as she moved gracefully towards the alter. Her regal presence commanded attention, and the hall fell silent in reverence.

Gasps of admiration whispered through the crowd like a soft breeze, followed by a collective holding of breath. Even the waiters froze, their trays suspended mid-air, as they gazed in awe. The bride's ethereal beauty had transformed the rowdy hall into a mesmerized audience, all eyes locked onto her.

In this fleeting moment, time stood still. The world seemed to pause, allowing the guests to drink in the splendor of the bride's arrival. As she reached her alter, a soft murmur of approval rippled through the crowd, followed by a delicate applause, like the gentle lapping of waves on a moonlit beach. The engagement ceremony was about to begin, and all eyes were riveted on the stunning bride.

Where's the groom... ? Isn't it weird that the bride was made to come out first?

The priest, a wise and seasoned clergyman, stood at the altar, surveying the room with a warm smile. He cleared his throat, his voice booming through the hall, "Ah, dear friends and family, we are gathered here today to witness the union of two beloved souls. But, uh, it seems we have a slight...ahem...misplacement."

He paused, his eyes scanning the room, his gaze lingering on the entrance where the groom was supposed to be standing. Instead, the beautiful bride stood alone, her forced radiant smile faltering for a moment as she glanced around, seemingly searching for her missing partner. 'Should I really be surprised?' she sighed.

The priest's eyes twinkled with amusement as he continued, "It appears our groom has gone...AWOL?" He chuckled, his voice dripping with good-natured humor. "Ah, dear me! It seems we have a bit of a situation on our hands!"

A gentle titter rippled through the crowd, followed by a few snickers and giggles. Regina's face turned a delicate shade of pink as she looked around, her eyes sparkling with a hint of embarrassment.

"Ah, well," the priest said with a warm smile, "I suppose we shall have to begin without our errant groom. But fear not, dear friends, for I'm sure he shall turn up...eventually?" He smiled at the bride, who laughed out nervousness...

As the priest began the ceremony, the crowd's attention remained divided between the proceedings and the missing groom. Whispers circulated, speculating about his whereabouts, while others craned their necks, hoping to catch a glimpse of the wayward bridegroom.

" What's Damian Harrison doing? Surely he isn't that cruel that he'd leave his beautiful wife alone on the aisle, looking like a fool, right?"

" I pity her."

" She's so unlucky. "

" Have you actually seen sir Damian's face? Before?"

" I should get this on recording, and maybe play on the day of her burial, which won't be far from now. " Someone snickered.

Regina, stood at the altar, her gaze fixed on the priest as he began the ceremony. She tried to ignore the mean remarks people made and focus when suddenly, her stomach churned, and a wave of nausea washed over her. She felt lightheaded, her vision blurring as the room started to spin.

She tried to take a step back, but her legs felt like lead, heavy and unresponsive. The priest's words grew fainter, and the chatter of the guests receded into the distance. Regina's heart raced, her breath coming in short gasps.

Her hands instinctively reached out for support, but found none. The room was a whirlwind of colors, swirling around her in a maddening dance. Regina's thoughts grew foggy, her mind struggling to maintain consciousness.

Without warning, her legs gave way, and she felt herself falling. Time seemed to slow down as she descended towards the floor, her arms flailing wildly in a futile attempt to regain her balance.

The gasps and cries of shock from the guests reached her ears, but they sounded muffled, as if underwater. Regina's vision narrowed to a tiny pinprick, and she felt herself floating away, disconnected from her body.

As she hit the floor, the room erupted into chaos. The priest rushed to her side, his face etched with concern, while the guests murmured in shock and alarm. Regina's world went dark, her consciousness slipping away like sand between her fingers.

" Oh my, she probably fainted out of embarrassment. " A lady giggled, but nobody dared to question her as she was Callista Reginald. " This is why I've told that brat not to try and wed his son to someone. She's not with him and she's dying already. "

As Regina lay motionless on the altar, the crowd erupted into a mixture of shock, concern, and murmurs of disbelief. Amidst the chaos, Fredrick, Regina's father-in-law, rose from his seat, his expression a picture of worry and disapproval. His eyes narrowed, and his brow furrowed as he gazed at Regina's parents, who looked like they had been struck by lightning.

Fredrick's scowl deepened, his lips pursed in a thin line, as he took a step forward, his eyes fixed intently on Regina's parents. His gaze seemed to bore into them, as if accusing them of being responsible for this unexpected turn of eventsh.

Regina's mother, Kimberly Gray, in particular, looked like she had been drained of all color, her face ashen and her eyes wide with horror.

Fredrick's expression seemed to say, "How could you let this happen? How could you not ensure your daughter was prepared for this moment?" His body language radiated disapproval, his arms crossed over his chest, and his weight shifted forward, as if he was ready to confront them.

The tension between Fredrick and Regina's parents was obvious, the air thick with unspoken words and accusations. The rest of the crowd seemed to sense the unease, their murmurs and whispers dying down as they watched the unfolding drama.

The scene was a poignant contrast to the joy and celebration that had been expected, instead, it was a moment of shock, horror, and accusation.

Someone moved closer to Regina from the crowd and leaned in closer... It was Dr. Ymir Davidson! One of the most, if not the most exclusive guests they had there at that moment.

Dr. Ymir Davidson is a towering figure in the medical community, renowned for his groundbreaking research and revolutionary contributions to the field. His work has transformed the landscape of medicine, garnering him widespread recognition and admiration. In the event hall, Dr. Davidson is the most prominent guest, surrounded by a halo of respect and admiration. His presence is a magnet, drawing medical professionals and students alike. He is the embodiment of excellence, a shining example of what every medical student aspires to become.

Regina, in particular, has long revered Dr. Davidson as her role model. She has devoured his research papers, attended his lectures, and aspired to emulate his dedication and passion for medicine. For Regina, Dr. Davidson represents the pinnacle of success, a beacon guiding her own journey in the medical field.

As the most distinguished guest in the hall, Dr. Davidson's influence extends far beyond his own achievements. He has inspired a generation of medical professionals, including Regina, to strive for excellence, push boundaries, and prioritize patient care above all else. His legacy continues to shape the future of medicine, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals.

In this moment, as Regina lies motionless on the altar, Dr. Davidson's presence seems almost providential, as if fate has brought him to this place to offer guidance, support, and perhaps, a new perspective on the unexpected turn of events.

" Let me take a look at her."
