High-class

Eric sighed as his gaze trailed up to meet guard's stern face. His demeanor had already changed completely from what Regina was used to. His eyes were cold and it bore such irritation that made the air around cold. " What reason does she have to lie? She's our mother, let us in."

Regina immediately started to work on her phone. She refreshed her email, but it still didn't pop-up. She had it set for filtering messages from specific individuals. It should've been easy for her to locate it.

" Y-you two can go in, not her." The guard replied, utterly confused by the boy's aura and tried to maintain his composure.

" What do you mean?" Eric asked again, and noticed Diane who was trying to hold back her tears. " Simply let us in, if you don't desire trouble for stalling us. My sister mustn't cry." He sounded really serious at that moment, and it was quite hard to believe that such little boy's voice held command.

Regina typed away on her phone and then it dinged. Just then, the principal's assistant walked out of the school's gate giving Regina a look of stupefaction.

A woman with long, golden blonde hair cascading down her back like a river of sunset hues, emerged from the crowd. Her statuesque figure, reminiscent of a high-fashion model, screamed attention. She stood tall, her poise exuding elegance and refinement, as if she owned the very air around her.

Her features were chiseled, with high cheekbones, a slender nose, and full lips that seemed to pout in perpetual disdain. Her eyes, a piercing blue, sparkled with a hint of superiority as she gazed at Regina and her twins. Her gaze was like a cold breeze on a winter morning, leaving no doubt about her disapproval.

By her side, a miniature version of herself moved along, a five-year-old girl with an uncanny resemblance to her mother. The little girl's blonde hair was styled in perfect ringlets, and her tiny nose wrinkled in a mirror image of her mother's disdain. She clutched her mother's hand, her eyes fixed on Regina's twins with a mixture of smugness and haughtiness.

As the woman approached, her long legs eating up the distance with ease, her designer heels clicking on the pavement, Regina could sense a persisting aura of entitlement surrounding her.

The woman's very presence seemed to whisper, 'I am superior' Her gaze locked onto Regina, and her lips curled into a sneer, as if she had caught wind of something distasteful.

" Mummy, there she is!'' Victoria pointed out towards Diane with a mischievous look etched on her face.

" Mmmm?" The womman looked amused and brushed a stray lock of hair off her face. " You mean these are the low lives that made you cry?" She chuckled.

Regina turned to look away from them and her gaze landed back on the principal's assistant. " I've been standing here for quite sometime now, please, we need to go in." She smiled politely. She was really tired and just maintained herself to visit the school. She wasn't in for any drama.

Victoria's mother, Britney Edgar, Frowned, and then scoffed afterwards. She'd deal with her not outside though.

The guards' eyes widened in surprise as they watched the principal's assistant, stride purposefully towards Regina and her twins. They exchanged a brief, bewildered glance, clearly not expecting such a high-ranking staff member to personally escort the family into the school.

The guards' surprise stemmed from the fact that they had been expecting a routine drop-off, but instead, they witnessed a school representative personally accompanying Regina and her children. This suggested that Regina's family was important or had a high status within the school community.

As they watched the scene unfold, the guards couldn't help but wonder about Regina's background and connection to the school. They glanced at her again, reassessing her plain yet elegant appearance, and their expressions betrayed a hint of curiosity and respect. They lowered their heads slightly, acknowledging the apparent importance of Regina and her unique twins.

Eric looked confused. Why would the principal's assistant lead them in herself? Their mother was indeed more skillful than he thought. His face was as cold as ever. When it came to the case of protecting the ones he loved, there were just too many things he could never seem to achieve because he was so little.

" We're sorry for the inconvenience. If you wish to drop any complaints about the school's security, we're happy to improve by replacing them." She smiled.

" No, thank you.'' Regina waved it off.

The woman nodded in acknowledgement and walked away.

" Okay, kids lead me to your class room." She smiled at them.

" Oh, no. We're not having the meeting in our class." Diane finally spoke up with a huge sigh.

Regina's hands reached into her bag and she took out her phone. She checked the event details properly and her gaze returned to the kids. " Where's the grand class?" She asked.

" I know where that is, even if we don't, we could just follow the crowd." Diane replied gleefully.

As Regina followed the children further into the school, she couldn't help but notice the other parents and families arriving around her. She observed the way they carried themselves with confidence and poise, exuding an air of wealth and privilege.

Their designer clothing, luxury accessories, and high-end jewelry enough to catch anyone's attention, but it was more than just their material possessions that gave away their social status. It was the way they moved with an effortless grace, their shoulders back, and their heads held high.

Regina's gaze remained neutral, her expression a mask of calmness, but her eyes took in every detail. She noticed the way they interacted with each other, their conversations laced with references to exclusive events, expensive vacations, and high-society connections.

Her exhaustion was evident in the slight droop of her shoulders, the faint circles under her eyes, but her gaze remained sharp, taking in every nuance of the high-society world. " Mmmm, malevolent Academy."
