E.M.B

Aiden opened his textbook to the page, only to fall asleep as soon as the lecture began. The teacher sighed but continued the class without bothering with him.

"Aiden, Aiden…" The class president woke Aiden up after the class had ended.

"Yes," Aiden replied groggily as he raised his head, which was now soiled from his sweat.

"Our homeroom teacher requested to see you in her office after the classes," Matthew relayed her message.

"Okay," Aiden replied and placed his head back on his table.

"Aiden…" Matthew shook him again.

"What now?" He asked, his forehead creasing in anger from the disturbance.

"Sorry for disturbing you," Matthew apologized as he saw his soiled mood, "I mean, you can go back to sleep."

"Why?" Aiden's brows arched up.

"We just finished the last class; you slept through all the classes. In the next five minutes, it'll be break. The last teacher didn't use her time to finish." Matthew explained.

"Oh, that quickly? I didn't know I've slept for that long," Aiden said with a laugh as he scratched his head.

"It's okay," Matthew replied before going back to his seat.

Aiden sighed as he raised his head properly from his table. He used his hand to rub the sweat off his face as he looked around. It didn't take long for the bell to ring.

'The break time usually runs for thirty minutes, meaning I have just ten minutes to use in the teacher's office and then the rest for the library.' Aiden thought as he sorted out his plan.

The students started dispersing as the bell rang, with only a few left inside. Aiden racked his brain as he tried to remember the homeroom teacher's office and even more her appearance, but to no avail, and Kyle.

"Thinking about Kyle, where is he?" Needing him for a guide, Aiden finally noticed the disappearance of Kyle.

If he had noticed, Kyle hadn't been inside since he arrived.

"Didn't he come to school today?" he pondered. A tap on his shoulder distracted his focused mind.

"Ermm?" He turned to look at Matthew, his brows perched up, questioning.

"I figured that you probably don't know the way to the office anymore due to your memory loss, so I need to lead you there."

"Memory loss it is then," Aiden nodded as he stood up.

He closed his book and dropped it on his shelf before tapping Matthew's shoulder, "Thank you, let's go."

After walking through the hallway, they finally reached the line for the homeroom teachers' offices. They stood in front of the office which had the name tag, Mrs. Silver.

"Hmm.." Aiden sighed as he heard the teacher's voice.

"You can come in."

Aiden was about to place his hand on the doorknob, but Matthew beat him to it. He opened the door and entered, leaving the door open for Aiden to also enter.

"Is he also called to be lectured?" Aiden could only ponder as he stepped in.

The room was simple, with chairs, a table, and bookshelves filled with educational and recreational books.

"You can both sit down," Mrs. Silver instructed them.

They both sat down, and she faced Matthew straight away.

"Matt, do you agree that you haven't been doing your work as the class president?" she questioned.

Aiden watched as she berated him, and obviously, he had no way to refute it since he's just a scholarship student living off the charity of the entitled students. So, he had to take the blame even though Aiden was the one at fault.

Aiden nodded as he reasoned it out.

"Actually, if this meeting is all about looking for someone to pour the blame on because my parents are talking about my grades, don't worry, you don't need all that," Aiden said as he stood up from his chair.

He checked his wristwatch and hissed, "I've almost spent 10 minutes."

"Mr. Aiden!" Mrs. Silver called, her voice a little high as she looked at him.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Silver. I understand that you care so much about your position as much as you care about my grades. I'll fix my grades, and if it's about sleeping in class, I'm not sure about that. The class is just too boring," Aiden replied.

"You?" She wanted to say something but couldn't continue and just had to hold herself back.

"Let's go," Aiden uttered as he walked to the door.

Matthew sat there, still shocked.

"You stood up for me?" He asked as he looked at Aiden, finally standing up from the chair.

"Anything wrong?" Aiden questioned, "You are wasting my time. Take me out of here to the library."

They both left the office, and Matthew led him to the front of the library.

"Thank you," Aiden thanked him and was about to enter before he was also stopped by Matthew's words.

"Thank you."

Aiden sighed as he said, "It's nothing. I'm the one who put you in that position."

"You poor thing…" he said before entering the library.

Matthew stood outside the library, his face turning grim. His hands folded into fists as he spat out, "Vile hypocrite."

If Aiden knew the outrageous thoughts that Matthew had towards him, or more so the vile deeds his past self had done to him, he would be wary of him and might consider taking him as an enemy.

"Your pass," the library guard stopped Aiden as he was about to enter the library.

"Oh…I forgot to bring it," Aiden replied.

"You need a pass to enter the library, but since it's you, we'll let you in."

"Okay," Aiden said and entered the library.

As he wasn't carrying a bag, he went straight into the library, passing the first floor to use the elevator to reach the e-library.

Ding! The elevator chimed, announcing his arrival. He stepped out and entered the e-library to access the system.

Without wasting much time, he sat down in front of an available system and tried logging in to his personal account but was unable to as the system notified:

"You need a pass to be able to access the system with your personal account. If not, you can only use a guest account and remember to erase your search history and any important details."

"Oh… shoot!" Aiden sighed.

Pressing a few keys on the system, he signed in with the guest account.

"Now, let's get to work."
